Wow, I actually was pretty confident that Pac-Man would take 2nd in this match. Christ this contest sucks for me...I've missed quite a few characters, including some going to Round 3 and have gotten a lot of them out of order. BengrimTheBold, mjg3456789, Smoke002, squallgengar, yusuke01, Koopa95,
Gehan, Ben_8_Chicken, charmander6000, PaGz_GF, PokeGlenn, chaz541,
Funkymunky4444, RanmaRanma and Cynrascal did not have Fox > Wario
for today's match. 5 people manage to stay on the Top 50 even though they only scored 2 points. I wouldn't take this as pro-Liquid yet...Revolver's done well and this
format is probably a small favor to MGS characters, but I'm not giving
the whole gang such credit yet. If BB keeps this up, that'd be
nice...but right now I don't think this is MGS-wide. Maybe it will be, and it certainly doesn't hurt his case. I just think jumping the gun on him isn't necessary right now. If BB stays over 25%, then certainly that means great things for Liquid...but I think we need to let this match go much longer than ten minutes before we even try to decide how this affects Liquid. --- PETITION: a "Contest Suggestions" board. At best, Ness is a bit stronger than Midna. The last time we had anything resembling a good read on Ness was in 2004 when he performed about the same as Scorpion on Auron. I have zero confidence in Ness in this format. He may be Nintendo,
but that means nothing when it comes to being a favorite of people's in
a such a varied fourpack (Square/CV/MGS/Nintendo). The hardcore fans of
Ness are mostly in the Earthbound crowd, and I don't feel threatened by
them. The Square character is Zidane so he has zero impact on anything. You really think the main Nintendo fanbase here will vote for Alucard or Liquid over a Smash Bros character who is decently well liked? I can't see that happening. --- Demyx is better than Axel. I don't like Haley Scarnato |

The point is that being Nintendo does not guarantee a win, especially
in this format. Ness perhaps has a right to be favored over Liquid -

Whoa @ Big Boss. He's not far from the % he got against Auron alone. To
get it against Mario and 2 others(fodder though they may be) is
awesome. Of course he won't finish this high. But finishing with over
20% in itself is impressive --- This story is not an end yet. Because only you are in the infinity loop. |

Why is Liquid getting the tail end of things? Is it crazy to believe
Liquid vs. Alucard might be a close match, or Alucard may not have as

That was by far Scorpion's worst year, and I thought his dominance
showed that he's above his 2004 self now. Plus there's Sub-Zero's

The Square character is Zidane so he has zero impact on anything. Uhh, Zidane may not be quite up on the other three's level at first glance, but he's hardly trash... and there's always potential SFF from Crono to consider. You really think the main Nintendo fanbase here will vote for Alucard or Liquid over a Smash Bros character who is decently well liked? I can't see that happening. The Nintendo fanbase is not independent from the Square, Castlevania, and/or MGS fanbases by a longshot. This format mixes up things a lot, and the dedication of fans means a lot more to me. Ness has been SFFed *badly* in the past more than once - against strong Nintendos, sure, but I don't think he's got the loyalty he needs to pull through. --- delicious cats Commit it to memory. |

I think Alucard has his own little "hardcore fanbase". I have confidence in him finishing first. LS second feels like the favourite in my eyes, but let's not react too quickly. SFFed or not, the idea of Pac barely getting updates over Wander
is embarrassing. You never hear his name ONCE in SotC (it's in the
credits, missed by most I'd say) and that's not exactly the most
recognizable picture in the world. Either Wander has some of the most
hardcore fans this site has seen, or Pac has virtually ZERO hardcore
