*sighs* Dammit Wario. I would've put you in for first, and you're probably not even going to place. What the hell is happening to Mario characters this year? Assuming Wario follows Peach's pattern, that makes three huge collapses in a damn row. I'm beginning to wonder if "SFF" is really the answer. |

What the hell is happening to Mario characters this year? Assuming
Wario follows Peach's pattern, that makes three huge collapses in a
damn row. I'm beginning to wonder if "SFF" is really the answer. Yoshi looked like a total beast, and Bowser was hurt by Mewtwo. Peach was a bust, and Wario's in a 4-way SFF match. Let's see what Mario and Luigi do before we call this a bad year for Mario. --- That... was her final mission. And like a true soldier, she saw it through the end. ZSB [aX] |

The "overrated" women so far were behind Tifa (Rikku did damn well for
herself, I don't count her). If you didn't think she was ridiculously
overrated, you probably shouldn't be allowed to enter these things. And... Falcon close? Another welcome surprise, especially considering I just voted for him. I have no idea how this match is gonna turn out, looking at this early "trend". I'd put money on F-Zero though (no it's not the F-Zero fanbase doing this <_<). --- delicious cats Commit it to memory. |

This is Fox's year. Doesn't look like he should have any trouble next round. Falcon/Wario is obviously quite unpredictable right now. I think though if Fox wasn't in this, Falcon would win easily. Also anybody that calls people who didn't understand the bracket an idiot, is being pretty dumb I think. When 40%-50% of a population make the same mistake, it's obviously not the customer/entrant/employee/whatever, it's that the management horrifically mangled communication. And that was the case here. This is an textbook business school 'management' example of a management communications ****-up. If I had made this bracket entry form and something like his happened, I'd be like "Wow, I totally and utterly botched that project." If you really have the need to feel superior, I think you should find something else to do it with. --- www.gamefaqscontests.com www.gamefaqscontests.com/gallery |

After three matches of SFF in a row. Now,
of course, Luigi and Yoshi's debatable matches (and DK! Kratos >
Marth ftw) also involve SFF, making it relevant anyway, but still. I
wouldn't say they are declining in actual strength. --- FFXII NLB - finished - 39 marks FFXII LLIENANMiNDM - Bhujerba (post-Ba'Gamnan) |

Sure, it may be a management thing, but how much more clear should it
have been made? I know it was over-looked a lot, but the rules and
explanations were exactly where they needed to be. Perhaps he simply
over-estimated how many people actually read the basic rules..... --- PETITION: a "Contest Suggestions" board. Life-changing details below: http://boards.gamefaqs.com/gfaqs/genmessage.php?board=7&topic=35717580 |

You could still argue that Bowser disappointed, even when taking into
account Mewtwo and Toad. Meta Knight and Peach didn't get that much SFF
splitting (most likely), meaning Bowser may not have suffered as much
from the other Nintendo characters as people have hoped. Shadow got a huge day vote against Wario, I believe. He did the same against Mario, though. --- "Ah, a party! We haven't had one of those. It could be fun! So...what is a party?" "Well, you drink punch and eat CAKE! ...I think." |

Bowser being double-SFFed and Peach being part-overrated and
part-bombing in this format do not equal Mario characters bombing. And
Wario? This is a definite improvement from where he last stood in 2003
(after adjusting for Shadow, obviously). I'm satisfied with him, it's
Falcon who's "impressing" me right now (well, that and Fox, good gravy). I'll ask the age-old question again now that we've got two back-to-back matches with the characters in question - Peach or Wario, who wins? --- delicious cats Commit it to memory. |

trannyscience | Posted 9/11/2007 9:32:02 PM | message detail |
really, it's both. it's people being so desensitized to fine print that
no one reads it. it's the management not putting it in huge bold
letters. it's people being stupid. I don't think filling out your bracket wrong makes you "stupid", and anyone that thinks so reeks of board 8 elitism. there were tons of topics about it the day the bracket was posted. the difference is that we live here 24/7. --- THE ORDER MATTERS?!?!?!?!?! "war uh ya what is it good for absulite nothing" -ertyu |
Starion | Posted 9/11/2007 9:32:03 PM | message detail |
Well maybe not necessarily stupid, just lazy. You see it in the boards
lots of times, people asking questions that could be answered easily by
the FAQs or the manual. Not using the search function to find a
relevant topic, etc. If the rules were clearer, the number of people
misunderstanding would go down but there would still be a significant
number of botched brackets. --- 100% Frog Log Quest: Current Progress- 400 of 627 Completed: Jaster, Kisala, Deego |
