he's not hated by anybody... he's worthless, but people don't hate him

Who even cares about Meta Knight? Uhhh...Anyone who's played Revenge of Meta-Knight? Or any other game he appears in? Seriously, Meta-Knight is awesome. Regardless, you can't draw definitive conclusions from a match like this. I don't buy this being all SSBB hype considering he's facing Peach here. That doesn't make any sense to me. And is anyone considering Meta-Knight to round 3 after this performance? I don't know if he'll manage it, but how surprised would you be if he did? by request -- division 2 winners and losers Winners STAR OF THE DIVISION: Marcus Fenix - yeah, his competition was pretty weak. yeah, Kefka had his lettuce picture. yeah, Kefka has one of the most disasterrific day votes we've ever seen. that said, did you see that day vote? he turned a 900 vote deficit into a 5812 vote win. now THAT's a day vote. with Marcus Fenix looking to have the most independent fanbase in the next round, he's probably the favourite to advance to round three behind Cloud. Ryu - Ryu scored 41% on Bowser in 2005. many of us knew that he had a fanbase that would not abandon him.. but 36% against Bowser, Mewtwo and Toad? the two Nintendo guys barely even hurt him, leading some to argue that 2005 Ryu was simply an anomaly and proving that characters rise and fall for utterly no reason in these things. Ryu was beating everyone down so hard at night that some people were calling Ryu > Bowser a lock for round 2. that's a definite overreaction, but it just shows you how impressive Ryu was. Mewtwo - Mewtwo is another guy that I think is being overestimated thanks to this format. there is quite clearly a core Pokemon fanbase on this website that will vote their characters over anything, and Mewtwo just bleeds casual appeal. that said, take Ryu and Toad out of the match and Bowser is projected to beat Mewtwo with 53.42% of the vote. that's closer than Leon Kennedy got. that's closer than Yoshi got. I don't think Mewtwo surprassed expectations as far as some others do, but 25% in a poll with two near-elites is pretty darn good. Pyramid Head - it's tough to impress while getting destroyed, but Pyramid Head did. PH got 16.12% against Bowser in 2005, but against Auron, Shadow and Chris Redfield combined he scored the same percentage. either Pyramid Head's fanbase is 101% committed to him and will never abandon him or he's looking to be stronger in 2007 than he was in 2005. Losers TURD OF THE DIVISION- Shadow the Hedgehog - nobody flat out BOMBED this round, but Shadow sure as hell tried to. armed with a badass picture, Shadow lost an update overnight to Pyramid Head. he recovered nicely with the day vote, but this sure wasn't the guy who fluked 45% on Mario in 2003. most safe estimates had him getting 30%, but he couldn't even pull 27% with two pieces of fodder and Auron. Shadow proved that he has utterly no chance to survive round 2 unless both Ryu AND Bowser bomb -- not a likely possibility. Lettuce Kefka - augh Zelos Wilder - haha. in 2005, Clown Kefka only managed 64% on Mithos. remove Fenix/Nook and Kefka and Kefka is projected to get 72% on Zelos. so much for that rabid Tales fanbase! Zelos's late entrance and crappy character design seem to have doomed him to low-fodder status.. like, sub-Tom Nook status. you know, the guy who got 15% on Crono. Jill Valentine - I don't really consider it a bomb. Ocelot and Jill were complete equals in my eyes, and her losing wasn't surprising. still, she was the bigtime bracket favourite and so she goes here. losing the day vote to Ocelot is unacceptable. Bowser - I'm not surprised by him losing to Ryu. that was expected. but to lose percentage throughout the daytime in a poll with Ryu? to go 50/50 through the entire day with Mewtwo? flashbacks to his match with Kirby in 2005, another match that Bowser just sucked it up. watching Bowser slowly go from 30% to 29% to 28% scared every person with Bowser in round 4. every single one. --- THE ORDER MATTERS?!?!?!?!?! now playing: Jeanne d'Arc |

I didn't see it brought up...but after seeing MK overcome Peach like
this, how do people feel about Kirby's Round Two match against Kratos?
I mean, if Peach isn't stopping MK, then DK ain't going to stop Kirby... ...but Kratos messes things up too. I'd be tempted to take Kratos > Kirby head on, so I really don't

We've seen conflicting multi-fanbase polls in consecutive days - Bowser
was clearly hurt by Mewtwo and Toad, but Meta-Knight and Peach probably
aren't hurting each other much. I think the key is the percentage of
the vote up for grabs: in a low percentage situation (like today,
PH/Chris, and Arthas/Diablo) there's less "LFF" because each character
is down to their core fanbase. But, as you free up more percentage, the less emphatic voters have essentially two main choices - the fanbase being leeched or the independent fanbase. Even if they make this choice (loosely) based on individual strength (ie, Nintendo gets 65% of the vote against Ryu), the split between two or three characters within the leeched fanbase hurts everybody in the absence of major traditional SFF (which might help the strongest party). I have no idea how right that is but it seems to more or less conform to what we've seen. As for Kirby/Kratos/DK, there's a decent chance it'll fall into the latter case and hurt both Kirby and DK, but there's also a decent chance that Kirby SFF's DK, which helps him overcome some of that. I wouldn't be too surprised if Banjo almost placed tomorrow. Am I
alone? I think he would have the most separate and perhaps "dedicated"

Ok, it actually seems like you're seriously contemplating that Donkey
Kong might have any chance of beating Kirby. That will never happen. DK
has lost every single year against Kirby in the extrapolated standings
