Hahaha... CATS gained on Meta Knight there.

Unfortunately Peach also gained on Meta Knight there.

Let's go over the successful new (or returning old) characters:
Arthas
Marcus Fenix
Tom Nook
Pyramid Head
Mewtwo
Meta Knight

Notable failures:
Midna
Zelos Wilder

It's nice to see the newbies doing fairly well.

Well I'd definitely call PH successful. He outdid his % against Bowser alone against Auron and Shadow and that other guy. Nook on the other hand only looks like a success because Zelos flopped, ugh.

Zelos is my favorite character, and I am not that shocked he bombed. You have to play 10+ hours in the game just to get him in your party, and not everyone seems to like him for some reason.

yep, this is a typical NPH->night vote trend here. it sure looks like Peach will "win" the night vote, probably taking the lead as well. I wonder if CATS can take third if that's the case.

the question I'm asking myself: does Meta-Knight therefore win the day because he won the NPH? I'm honestly not sure...

Well I assumed Zelos's floor to be Mithos, and signs pointed to even Mithos handling Nook quite easily. Mithos must've just done better than he should've against Kefka for some reason. Blame the pic, maybe.

Someone posted it earlier, and I think it might have some credibility after the last few updates.

The people you'd expect to be following Brawl the most are the people you would expect to be in that first group of voters. Maybe when the casual masses get off school we'll see Peach take chunks out of MK. I just can't see average Joe middle schooler knowing who Meta Knight is.

This match has given me hope that Luigi > Pit is a solid pick.

the question I'm asking myself: does Meta-Knight therefore win the day because he won the NPH? I'm honestly not sure...

Who knows, really. This could be a sign of the day vote, or Meta Knight could just be a fan favorite like Frog and completely collapse.

Taking a look at Kirby though, I'm thinking Meta Knight will struggle a bit to stay ahead. Kirby collapsed against PoP, and stayed about even with Luigi and Bowser. Considering that Meta Knight doesn't have the SSB effect yet, I'm thinking he won't even do that well.

RPGuy:
CATS is really collapsing here, he's fueling Sephiroth more than anything. I find that kinda strange, since he should theoretically have a decent night vote compared to two Nintendo characters.

I'm surprised you're surprised :) CATS is more of a "sucks with everything other than the board vote" type, rather than a night vote/day vote type.

And if you want to play with this when I'm not around,
www.rit.edu/~zmb0386/Contest4Way.html

I'm getting some weird "Multiple Choices", "/~zmb0386/Contest4Way.ods (common basename)" thing here. That would be cool though.

Black Turtle
I just can't see average Joe middle schooler knowing who Meta Knight is.

I would expect the after-school vote to favor Meta Knight more than Peach. But this is a concern - Peach's best shot is that Meta Knight's recognizability issue will mean she somehow manages to get hurt by the day vote less than Meta Knight. (I don't see Peach actually gaining % at that time)

Peach is still very much in this, but if she wins it will probably be by less than a full point. And Meta Knight could well do better with the day than she does anyway.

Right now Fox is looking like the safe choice for next round. Let's see if his match alters that.

Who knows, really. This could be a sign of the day vote, or Meta Knight could just be a fan favorite like Frog and completely collapse.

this is my first and most natural reaction right here. it's mostly caused by my doubts that Meta-Knight had a chance here, but he just seems like such an early vote kind of dude. I've been questioning his "run" the whole time. I wonder if all Brawl hype candidates are like this..

hmm. Snake was dominant during the NPH, wasn't he? I think Squall even came back on him somewhat during the night vote.
