Sephiroth is notoriously bad with the board vote. in fact, I'd say
he has the worst board vote in existence. not to go all elitist here or
anything, but people who have been watching him for years pretty much

I honestly don't know why everyone brought up the Kirby series
bombing as a reason for Meta Knight to bomb. The Kirby series is hardly
anyones favorite series at all, even though it has fans... But that
does not mean that the characters themselves aren't loved. Meta Knight,
like Kirby is far more loved than his actual series. What surprises me is that I was apparently the only one to float the "Kirby proxy" idea, when it seemed so obvious to me as a possibility. If Meta Knight can finish ahead of Fox/Wario/Captain Falcon next round, choosing him might be one of the keys to finishing well in the main bracket contest. I thought Kirby's appeal was that he was ****ing Kirby, not that his series was that strong. It isn't that Kirby's series is strong. It's that it's ****ing Meta Knight. I would've voted for him, if I hadn't voted for CATS. ...then again, I might've voted for Peach. Not sure. (...come to think of it I'd be happy voting for any one of these characters...) |

26 people fell off the Top 50. inupendi, Croco_, Iforget2, RussU14,

The only reason I didn't take Meta Knight here was because I didn't
think anybody had actually played the Kirby games. I always though

Meta-Knight is awesome, but I'm not gonna get carried away - Fox is one
of the, if not THE fan-favorite of the SSB series. Add in that he's
always had his own at least well-known series backing him up, and...
well, I never really doubted him going to Round 3. That's what this

We've seen Fox work, though. After SSBM and his own games, he still showed decelerating growth in his two years in this contest. Fox > Wario is just a trendy pick. Wario > Falcon is the most logical. Squeezing by Pikachu when Pokemon hate was at its all time high is...pitiful. --- Feel my truth. |

Either Brawl will be a big factor this year, or Meta Knight is going to be a beast after it. I highly doubt this has very much to do with Brawl at all. I think it's a lot more his close relation to Kirby, and his awesome character design. We've seen Fox work, though. After SSBM and his own games, he still showed decelerating growth in his two years in this contest. No he didn't. In 2002 we saw him get 25% on pre-KH Cloud, which is pretty nice no matter how you slice it. Mario/Cloud underrates him there. And in 2003 he doubled up Pikachu with ease before getting SFFed by Link, and due to that hasn't had the support to make the contest since. Fox isn't losing to Falcon there. MK and Peach being even is good for CATS, however Sephiroth doesn't
have nearly enough votes. Even as bad as his board vote is, there's no
way he finishes above 60% anymore. Probably not even 55%. Though CATS

Meta Knight beating out Fox is clearly in the realm of possibility
however if Meta-Knight can take care of Peach. At least in my eyes.

I mean, even if that forms the bulk of his strength... I always assumed that people had played his games.
