Vaan lost to Yoshi, Zolom lost to Cloud, Vaan has to hope for a miracle to think anyone else is gonna do that bad with someone worse then Yoshi winning a match. Prince of Kosmos might have a shot

Cloud > Yoshi Knux Rikku put together k maybe a slight exaggeration but the point holds true Cloud could easily beat 2 of those characters and with SFF maybe all 3...

Bomberman may as well be the universal symbol for multiplayer mayhem...

Um...Smash Bros.?

Bomberman Live is totally relevant.

You're banking on a game that sold less than Justice for All. lol bomberman

LeonhartFour | Posted 9/10/2007 5:47:12 PM | message detail
I honestly think Bomberman takes second place fairly easily. Magus isn't going to dominate that fourpack. He'll get 40%+, but he won't get anywhere close to 50%. Bomberman would avoid the doubling against Magus one-on-one, and I doubt the ability of the other two to do that. Bomberman's 35.24% on Squall is far more impressive than anything the other two did. I don't think Gordon Freeman would do that, so you can forget about Phoenix Wright doin' that.

People need to remember that Bomberman isn't really fodder. He's a low midcarder, really. Heck, he was practically equal to Kefka and Tails in 2004, and he ranked above Ryu Hayabusa and Jill. Sure, there's Squall SFF-adjustment to think about, but still, I'd say he's safely above the other two.

I doubt he's dropped that much. Either way, there's no way I take Crash or Phoenix to beat him head-to-head.

Besides, the other three are terrible with the day vote! Bomberman can't help but get it!

I wouldn't take 'em over Bomberman head-to-head either, but there's a number of cases where a character has advanced/won when he wasn't the strongest.

LeonhartFour | Posted 9/10/2007 6:04:32 PM | message detail
Yeah, but I think Phoenix Wright is going to need Magus to get a high percentage here. Bomberman still has his fans (like me), and I still think he could break the fodder line here.

Crash is just going to suck.

What the hell is with this Ganon support?

He would have had to boost alot to even come close to Sonic, and Snake is in there taking a small chunk of his Nintendo votes.

Ganondorf (2006c) VS Sonic (2006c)

Ganondorf has a strength of 35.16.
Sonic has a strength of 38.70.

Sonic wins with 54.57% of the vote!
A win of 12,206 with 133,439 total votes cast.

...? maybe you and I think having different meanings of "boosting a lot", especially when he's got the biggest game of the year in front of him now.

not that I'd take him to ever beat Sonic, but to say he's way weaker than him is flat out wrong.

Underestimation? Most of the topic is behind Bomberman. That's overestimation!

I read it really fast and only saw Leonhart defending him. About that whole Bomberman/icon discussion, I definitely consider Bomberman an icon, but just on a different tier than the mainstream Nintendo characters et al (Sonic, Mega Man, etc.). His games have been around forever, and everyone knows who he is. I'd put him on the same tier as Pac-Man in that everyone knows him and he's sure to get some "Hey cool, it's Bomberman! Loved those games!" votes.

Don't forget that Bomberman's N64 games were relatively popular among that Nintendo fanbase. With so few standout games at the time on the N64, those games got a bit more recognition than his games normally get. And don't underestimate Xbox Live. You can't go by pure sales. The game was incredibly hyped on Xbox Live. When you turn on the 360 and go to the dashboard, advertised games are right there in your face, and demos are readily available. That alone is reason enough for the Xbox 360 fanbase to vote for Bomberman over the likes of Phoenix Wright, Crash Bandicoot, and Magus.

Squall has a much better of a shot of taking down Sonic than Ganondorf. Mainly because he has the first crack and they're about the same strength. Plus, if there's anything funny between Kirby and Sonic it increases Squall's chances.
