Contest Stats and Discussion - Part 472

Today's match is boring. Discuss Bowser, Mewtwo, Ryu, Toad here. Does Bowser get rSFFed enough to get >'d by Ryu?

Explanation of Extrapolated Standings:

Simple Explanation of Extrapolated Standings:
A = Strongest Character
B = Character Weaker than A
C = Character Weaker than B
To figure out a character's Xsts Percentage ---> [(CvB)(BvA)]/50 = CvA
To compare how C would do against B ---> [(CvA)/(BvA)]*50 = CvB
To figure out how B would do against A ---> [(CvA)/(CvB)]*50 = BvA

I'm sure a great minority of the entries have Cloud > Marcus in the next round. Even though I have Cloud > Jill, I don't feel too bad about it 'cause there's likely a ton of people who have that or something other than Marcus in 2nd.

Plus I have certain big upsets coming anyway, so those points from Jill won't be too bad >_>

And really disappointed with Chris and Jill, the two main RE heroes have performed very poorly indeed.

This may have been discussed already, but I just looked at the stats and saw -

52.84% / 2.45%

for Revolver Ocelot, he's second only to Samus and Cloud for people predicting the correct position (Samus was around 56 and Cloud at a shocking 93). How do so many people know he was going to get second? It certainly didn't seem that obvious to me. I'm not say it was necessarily a hard pick, I'm just curious how apparently that round was so much easier to predict than the others where the correctness level is only in the 20% range.

Pretty simple. Silent Hill is more Cult than Resident Evil and with so few characters to rally behind, SH fans love their Pyramid Head to death. Chris isn't a tank or anything, but 1vs1, he slaughters PH. This is a 4 person ffa. I voted for Shadow because even though I don't carea bout him, I want to have my bracket not suck. 1vs1, Chris gets the bracket vote from many people and just the vote in general.

To KrahenProphet:

It is simple to explain why Ocelot has a high correct percentage for the second place. Just look at his position in the bracket. He is in the bottom half of this four-pack and apparently more than 30% of entries thought that there would be two separate polls for each four-pack. So this match is going to be like Cloud v Jill AND Midgar Zolom v Ocelot. It is obvious that Cloud will win the top half and Ocelot will win the second half, thus the higher than expected correct percentage for Cloud and Ocelot. On the other hand, Mega Man and Samus are in the bottom half of their four-pack, resulting in lower correct prediction and higher partial correct from these ~30% brackets whose users can't be bothered to read the rules.

Nah, I don't think it's a book. Back when Warcraft III was released I was thinking of a screen name to make in game, and I like making kind of obscure screen names. So I based it off of the character Medivh who was a prophet that could turn into a crow (druid of the talon in game I think) so I was going to make it CrowProphet, but I decided to translate crow into a different language.

The translation service I used on the internet must have been sucked (or maybe it was me) because it ended up giving me Krähen for crow when it's really Krähe (according to babel fish right now I don't actually know this stuff). Apparently Krähen means "crows".

This is the last website I use this screen name on. The only two names I use now for creating accounts are MidgarZolom or Abyssion (tales of symphonia).

Xcarvengerx,

Ah, I actually thought that might have been the case, but I realized it a little after posting, and I never actually felt like going back to check to see if Midgar Zolom was against Ocelot because I had forgotten. Yeah, but it makes perfect sense though.

So a better question would be, why did Midgar Zolom get so few votes! He is clearly superior to Ocelot. I bet snakes eat ocelots anyways.
