Let's presume Midna beats Scorpion as most people expected her to,
instead of losing miserably, and presto, she's stronger than him! Yes, because that's a legit counter-argument. There's no way Tifa gets 45% on Samus legitimately. Solid Snake couldn't even manage 47% on her. Well if you forced me to say whether Boss is over or underrated, I'd say over every time. 45% was admittedly generous, but 43% is fair. Tifa seemed to me to be very strong that year, and I would give her a good chance against MM (again presuming that Sonic/Snake was BS). Gears of War has been the #1 game on Live since its release.
However, I don't know wtf rallying on Live would do. Nobodies going to
turn their attention away from the game to go vote for Marcus in a poll. Well if rallying for blizzard in channels already flooded with spam works for starcraft, rallying on live might for marcus. Granted on starcraft people are already on their computer, but still it's hard to get the attention of a good amount of people in it. --- sig |

uh... when was that again? Being one of the most prominent characters (probably the most) from the start until a good deal in = not an interesting enough role to get people to like her? I mean, I'd argue she's the closest thing the game has to a main character. --- sig |

Well if rallying for blizzard in channels already flooded with spam
works for starcraft, rallying on live might for marcus. Granted on
starcraft people are already on their computer, but still it's hard to
get the attention of a good amount of people in it. XBL GoW is limited to game selection and 8 person games, there are no channels or anything. I don't think you'll even get any of those 8 people to bother to vote. people to bother to vote. Eh, maybe so, I'm just saying it's not like starcraft has this atmosphere where you can just say "lol k everyone go vote on gamefaqs" and have people listen. Almost nobody even pays attention to the main channels since they're full of spam anyways, and each one doesn't have very many people in it... so rallying could still potentially be done for gow. I agree that an active forum is always the best bet for rallying though. --- sig |

Midna was from a new game with no other characters making an appearance yet in the contest (Link is yet to appear as a TP character, if that makes sense (well, except for the Jay/Link match)). Scorpion hadn't been seen in a while. Meanwhile, Boss had her match against Celes to work from (with Celes using Terra as a benchmark) and Tifa had a contest's worth of data to use. I'll just say, once again, that Terra's fodder for a reason and that I
was calling it well before we saw her in action, and that I think a few

There's no reason to just blindly assume Celes is on par with Terra either, it's another character we've never seen before. think a few different PCs could do much better. I really don't agree. FFVI's ensemble cast makes it very hard for any one pc to have a lot of popularity in these polls. Even though he's just the villain, kefka is the best you'll get because at least he was consistently the main one (more or less). --- sig |

basically, the focus of the entire game is Kefka. the other characters
are just along for the ride. there isn't a single character in FF6 that

You couldn't write Terra out of the plot. She's a boring character but
she's a very important catalyst. No one else could free the espers and
open the gate, allowing Kefka access to the statues and eventually
becoming a god --- This story is not an end yet. Because only you are in the infinity loop. |

Who the hell cares if she was a catalyst to that plot point anyway? Does that make anyone like her? "Gee, she was significant to the story, better vote for her!"
