That male/female link script was posted on Gaia (AKA the biggest forum on the net) and it had over 500 views ...presuming the script works...as long as HALF of those voted then Frog just pulled out one of the shadiest wins ever. You know what this conetst needs to make it complete (already!)? Well, two things - one, a major upset, and two...a down-to-the-wire, last-update matchup. Seriously, Frog had it locked yesterday with what, 3 updates to go? Even Jill/Peach was virtually over after Peach stalled in the penultimate update... Snake/Sephiroth is the first time since MC/Frog that something came down right to the wire. Since it had that, + close matches, + upsets, SC2K6 will be the best contest...unless this one does even more. Which I have to say is looking likely. Though the way we're building it up, I really think this is going to be a bit of a damp squib >_> --- http://boards.gamefaqs.com/gfaqs/genmessage.php?board=7&topic=34492787 Sign plz "NOT MY DAUGHTER, YOU *****!" - Molly Weasley, Deathly Hallows |

Hmmm...so people were actually tricked into voting for Frog? Well...that does seem really shady...but not illegal. If that really was the factor that pushed Frog over the edge, then yeah, Frog's victory does seem a little...tainted. Oh well, lets just bring Axel back next year to see if he'll have better luck. --- "Opinions are like butts, little girl. 500 views. 500. Frog needed significantly less than half that for those votes to make a difference. Personally I was thinking if we kept seeing comebacks (or comeback attempts at least) in every match, they'd start to lose their appeal, like we're being spoilt be a lot of them. I don't think I'll ever tire of matches like that...at their current rate, anyway. I agree close matches every single day would get a bit meh, but it's better than blowouts every day by an absolute mile. But with one down-to-the-wire match and a couple of major upsets, this contest will be complete. --- http://boards.gamefaqs.com/gfaqs/genmessage.php?board=7&topic=34492787 Sign plz "NOT MY DAUGHTER, YOU *****!" - Molly Weasley, Deathly Hallows |

QUESTION TIME!: How's everyone's bracket looking after Division 1 and how's it look for the future? I have 12 points, by only missing Diablo in 2nd and screwing up the Midna > Scorpion order. I'm a bit worried about Ganondorf > Vergil considering Arthas' strong performance and with Thrall there. Also, for some godawful reason I have Master Chief > Alucard in the 2nd Round over Yuna and Zidane. Don't ask...I dunno either. Crono > Vincent is one I'm not too thrilled about either...I think Vincent might come out in 2nd in that fourpack. The Samus > Frog pick I made looks more and more like it's going to be Samus > Scorpion too....With all that said, I'm still confident as hell that my Vivi upset pick will work out. Seriously, I am. --- KANSAS CITY CHIEFS (0-0) : AFC Wildcard NEXT: at Houston Texans (0-0) |
PortugalTheMann | Posted 9/6/2007 10:28:45 AM | message detail |
...well if Scorpion > Midna had to happen, I'm really glad it's
going down like it is. At this point Scorp is a near lock to come in
2nd to Samus next round, because I really don't think Frog would be
able to be doing this today. I could be wrong, and I certainly don't
want to count Frog out of anything, but this is making me feel really
good about that pick. I'm feeling pretty good about my Vincent >
Crono pick as well (not that yesterday really says all that much about
it, but it's better than if Frog had blown Axel out of the water). Only
thing I'm not happy about is MM > Knux, but hey, it could still happen. --- Explicit Content. I wish Lei Fang were my mom. I'd like drug her and feel her up and stuff. - Ken |

Let's see...after today...14 points. Gonna lose another 4 next round probably, because I have Frog moving on with Samus. The cheating in yesterday's match certainly wasn't as bad as the
cheating in Starcraft's matches against Halo/WW. Those were
just...absolutely ridiculous. My bracket...I dunno how happy I am with it right now. Samus > Midna is obviously a bust, and maybe Tingle > Mudkip? I do feel better about Ness > Alucard, though. --- Rapid analysis, accurate judgment, and superb powers of concentration. That is all we need. |

Having M. Chief > Yuna all the way through Round 3 worries me a bit, but not too much. Crono > Vincent is really my biggest question mark. But I know Crono and Frog are not joined at the hip and Crono is far stronger and better at managing the day than Frog is. And Vincent isn't a Sonic or KH character, so I think Crono will fight it off in the end to keep 2nd place...but man is that match looking to be intense. ...I also have no idea what I was thinking when I put Vivi going into the 3rd round over Leon. -_- --- "Opinions are like butts, little girl. XIII, the number of views doesn't matter. How many people voted in the poll? I know, but it's a rough estimate. Since Gaia has WELL over 500 members, it's safe to assume that almost all the views were independent. meh, wait to see Vincent, or at LEAST FF7 in action before anointing
him the favourite there. Frog got 30% on Samus the same year that Crono
beat Mega Man. I wouldn't link them too closely. this is pretty much the best two points I could lose here, because it kind of assures me that I'll get four next round. I feel pretty good about my bracket thus far besides the Knuckles pick, and even that isn't completely dead in the water. I also can't believe that A47 is going 50/50 with Kratos Aurion here. this is way beyond his performance against Sora - now he's basically at the fodder line. obviously this is the wrong way to judge him as such, but I didn't consider him for 10%, let alone 20. probably the surprise of the contest for me so far. --- "where the heck does diablo get his votes from on weekends? I wouldn't be surprised if less than 2 in 5 voted on it. I know I often
click on topics and don't really read them. Then you have the clicking
on a topic, not bothering to click on the link type people. And then of
course, there's the people who will see the poll, think it's stupid and
not bother voting. Really, if someone posted a topic on Board 8 telling
you to vote in a poll, on a geocities website, no less, about if you're
