Actually, I'm almost certain that ToS is killing Midna here. Think about it. ToS has a super-dedicated fanbase. ToS has similarities to Zelda, I can see it having the same fanbase. Dedicated fanbase+SFF=ouch. OK, not TOTAL SFF, but Midna would probably be about equal to Scorpion. Gogogo Zelos, make me proud, hunny! <3 --- It's not trolling. It's Justice. AIR CONDITIONER. |

Dedicated fanbase+SFF=ouch. OK, not TOTAL SFF, but Midna would probably be about equal to Scorpion. I seriously, SERIOUSLY doubt that TOS is siphoning 10k votes from Midna. I don't even think TOS is a factor is. If it is...2, maybe 3% factor at most. But no where enough to put her close to Scorpion. --- "Opinions are like butts, little girl. Marcus Fenix is going to SFF Kefka guys. You heard it hear first. Fenix
= Fenix Down, which is what Phoenix Downs were called in the SNES
version of FFIII/VI. Everyone knows that Phoenix Downs are more popular than Kefka, so Marcus will definitely benefit from that. He's got that match in the bag! --- Proud Supporter of Zero |

People who pick Fenix really need to consider the following: X-BOX Shooter character. Unpopular console on GameFAQs. Random Hero Factor. NOT. AN. ICON. Master Chief is, hence he does decently. His game got less than Kratos is getting now by two thousand in the race for game of the year. His game is mainly only popular for the Multiplayer. He isn't recognizable at all within the game. Probably a split between votes to Midna and to Scorpion. ...I'm not saying that Kratos fans wouldn't vote for Midna. Most votes would probably go to her. However, I doubt it'd be enough to bring Midna close to Scorpion. However, if this IS Midna, A ZELDA character, getting SFF by Tales of Symphonia...then she's gonna end up looking like Vaan when they throw Samus into the equation. --- "Opinions are like butts, little girl. Remember that when Sephiroth dropped out of the Battle Royale, Cloud
only got 70% of his votes. That's a great deal more than his share
(40/35/25 sounds like a decent estimate for Link/Cloud/Snake if
distribution was based solely on strength), but even in a case where
the fanbase seems to overlap almost perfectly, it was nowhere near

Only a very small part of the ToS fanbase is Anti-Zelos, a ridiculous amount of GameFAQs is anti-XBOX. However, I concede that they would probably not know Fenix anyway. However, they still wouldn't vote for him. Finally, I see Zelos taking the Kiddy vote. Fenix is in a game rated 18/M/whatever. He isn't exactly widespread news like Snake, Chief or even Leon, either. Zelos is only the fourth most popular character in his game. That's not
enough to beat the main character of a much more popular game, really. --- Rapid analysis, accurate judgment, and superb powers of concentration. That is all we need. |

Zelos won 3rd place in the Tales popularity contest 2 years ago, only losing to Leon and Kratos. Sheena wasn't even in the poll. And the miniature poll held at the US Tales Namco forum had Zelos winning highest Symphonia character over even Kratos. I can't think of a single thing Zelos has on Sheena. though it doesn't really matter -- they're all going to get about the same percentage, 15-20%. if Kefka can suck up enough votes for that to be second place, then he's got a chance. Zelos also won't have Midna slowing him down like Kratos does now. I
remain unconvinced in the existence of genre SFF, so I am sure that

Well, it doesn't particularly matter which poll it is. The Tales
characters are going to get a certain percentage each time -- one isn't
going to do dramatically better than the other, especially when Kratos
is the best the series can offer. Unless second place is hovering
around 20%, or Marcus Fenix is just really weak, I can't see Zelos
