Like I said somewhere else, it was massive amounts of rallying that
put Frog through. I have a topic on LL with 76 responses, somebody made
one on the Chrono Compendium, and a friend of mine got his WoW guild to
vote for Frog. Never underestimate the hardcore character's ability to
last minute rally I was the one who posted on Chrono Compendium and 3-4 other Chrono forums. Whether I got a sngle vote or not, I do not know, what I do know is that Frog winning makes Midna getting crushed SO WORTH IT --- The Cream of FFX Fanboyism |

I'm not counting Midna out. She's untested and the day could favor her.
But I also have a hunch Scorpion will do great during the day as well.

What? I read at least like 3 different people say that in this topic
while the brackets were open. (then I saw one person, I think Heroic
Viktor, say otherwise just today) I've never played Twilight Princess

| Midna had better be able to hold on for second here. Kratos moving on would kill Frog's chance of taking out Scorpion, in my opinion. |

Now that the excitement is over, who wants to hear my plug my whacky ideas some more? Axel coming that close to Frog (Frog Drop (lol) or not) speaks volumes of the rabidness of the KH fanbase. It really goes to show that Sora and Axel may have performed legitimately on Mega Man with no Mega Man drop. This is evidenced by Sonic getting a similar percentage on Snake. So what about Sora = Auron and other nasty things that come out of this logic? Simple, high seedings. We saw how potent getting a 1-seed is twice in 2k5 (Kirby and Dante) and again in 2k6 (Yuna). So perhaps Sora's number on Mega Man was inflated somewhat by Sora having the 1 seed? Seems plausible to me, and dispels and problems with Mega Man = Sonic = Crono. So what about Luigi and all the trouble he cause? Simple. Luigi got his best seed ever last year, and clearly had alot of casual bracket support against Zero, who's had his worst seed yet. This also helped him jump over Kirby before performing as expected on a sonic who thought had boosted (due to that match and sonic/crono). So what does that mean for this year? Well, obviously Crono and Vincent are going to be alot closer than they were in 2k5, but this also sets the stage for Zero to perform the biggest upset in these contests (bigger than Knux/Magus). We already saw what a split fanbase can do to 2 stronger characters allowing the weaker character to advance (despite there being another character in the poll miles ahead of the pack). If anything, all of the events so far this year are really getting my hopes up on the Zero upset. But wait, there's more senseless rambling? Yes, Cloud > Mega Man. Most of us have Bowser Samus MM and Cloud in that fourpack, and with Mega Man looking as fit as he ever did, it seems very plausible that Samus will lose just enough to Bowser to let Mega slip by. Crazy BT post, or scary truth? I'd say you decide, but KH will probably take that as an oppurtunity to insult my intelligence. So I'll leave things at that. I'm done with voting for Zelda characters ever. I'm just so ****ing fed
up with the Zelda fanbase right now. They're a bunch of mindless tools.

I would have expected that most gamers would have been familiar with
Midna based off of TP, though. I kinda wonder about that game... I kinda wonder about it too actually. It would certainly be one of the strongest games in a hypothetical games contest, but before it came out people were saying it could be #1. But I really don't think it would be stronger than Ocarina of Time in a contest setting. I think most would agree with me on that. But what I also wonder is, would it be stronger than A Link to the Past? That's a classic, and has had a portable release too. My reasoning for this match was that Scorpion did as well on Auron as
Ness, and that Midna had to be stronger than Ness, at least. Darn u SSB. :( --- Rapid analysis, accurate judgment, and superb powers of concentration. That is all we need. |

I'm not frustrated at Midna, I'm frustrated at Zelda fans. If Axel can
do what he did after briefly appearing in a game that would get
demolished by Twilight Princess, Midna should be able to do better than

Ok so, in review. Zelda fans do not support their minor characters (admittedly there are few worth a damn outside the trio) KH fans will blindly support ANYTHING that is theirs with ungodly love. Zelda fans strongly support all their games (even the weakest ones). And as a series, they defeat even Final Fantasy. I always thought about the idea that Link, Ganon, and Zelda were the only characters that the Zelda fanbase cared about. Admittedly, there's been no one in Zelda with as much focus as Midna, but we've never
seen any other character make the bracket except for those three -- and
not even every year. For a series as dominate as Zelda here, you'd
figure there'd be more love even for the lesser characters, but it
makes sense that there isn't. It just doesn't do characters very well,
and Midna doesn't exactly represent Zelda as much as the other three. A

600+ lead in the first thirty minutes? Yeah, Scorpion's winning this.
I'm interested in watching Midna the rest of the match now...I'd like
to see her break normal Nintendo trends, but I figure Kratos-A is going
to keep closer to her than Scorpion. Since Kratos-A is a fan-favorite on a GC-only game and Samus will put on another clinic next round, not to mention myself growing more curious if this format is suited for Minda...she's not gonna look too hot. She's a bust this year, it seems, but put her in a normal bracket I'd still be up for giving her another chance. That'll give LoZ:TP/Wii sales another year and head-to-head strength is more accurate...but until them, Midna's not impressing.
