Contest Stats and Discussion - Part 460

Not that I've said much in here about anything with school starting, but I've never had much confidence in Midna. I can't stand her, and, while I haven't beaten the game/gotten far through it, it wouldn't surprise me if others felt the same way.

Statistically, if Midna is only twice as popular as Tingle, then she's on the level of MC last year.

It's hard for her to be fodder.

She's basically the second most important character in the most recent and one of the most critically acclaimed Zelda games.

The same can be said of Vaan if you replace Zelda with Final Fantasy (and, optionally, she with he). Now, Midna has a lot more going for her than Vaan did, but we've seen unpopular characters from popular games before (Final Fantasy VI being the best example).

HeroicTronBonne | Posted 9/5/2007 12:42:22 PM | message detail
Midna's the type of character you pretty much can't draw a good solid opinion on till you've beat the game, I'll say that much. There's a bit more depth to her than most Zelda characters, at least that's what I thought. When I first began the game, I wasn't really too fond of her. But she grew on me pretty quickly.

I see what your getting at RPGuy, but I just don't think that applies in this case. FF6 and FF12 are ensemble cast games, with the fanbases of both games very split on which characters they love and which they care nothing for. Twilight Princess only puts really big focuses on a few characters, one of those being Midna.

What is this talk of if Axel beats Midna she's fodder?

Axel isn't fodder! He's a respectable midcarder!

Well it's the equivalent of 3400 votes in a normal poll so it pretty much is unthinkable. Though if any character would blow that kind lead it'd have to be a CT one.

The second night vote is miniscule. If Axel gets a lead of triple figures (and I'd say that's generous), he's got this.
