GameFAQs Contests
Contest Stats and Discussion - Part 457

Really, it's about longevity. A 1v1 contest for games is plenty
unpredictable at this point, so why go with the four way format when
it's not needed? It's possible that this ridiculous format could get
pretty predictable with repetition too. Then where do you go? Tag team
matches? 8 way matches? Exactly. Among other things... there's propriety to be considered. It's not like the advocates are making a strong argument either, what with the woefully predictable affairs I've seen touted as reasons for such a contest. --- delicious cats Commit it to memory. |

I think that, until the Game Contest becomes a regular thing, we don't
need to worry about gimmicks on top of it. It may make it more
unpredictable, but I'd like something more controlled until we start to
get too tight of a grasp on it. --- PETITION: a "Contest Suggestions" board. Life-changing details below: http://boards.gamefaqs.com/gfaqs/genmessage.php?board=7&topic=35717580 |

I don't see why it works one way but not the other. Are you saying
that you can't draw anything from these matches to apply to 1v1 matches? You can, but with four people in it there's so much more SFF involved it would be just that much more difficult to discern for the 1v1 matches. --- ~*~ExThaNemesis~*~ I do a lot of pushups and situps, and I drink plenty of juice. You can, but with four people in it there's so much more SFF
involved it would be just that much more difficult to discern for the
1v1 matches. Either way, you're getting the same amount of knowledge. If you can discern how much the SFF was around to boil things in a 4 way down to a 1v1 match, you're good to go. Similarly, if you can place the 1v1 games properly in the SFF food chain into a 4 way match, you're good to go. It's the same difficulty, just applying it backwards or forwards. I don't see any more difficulty. --- "GUYS I JUST DRANK A MASTER CHIEF SODA, MASTER CHIEF FOR 2007!" - Swirldude |

KOS-MOS is doing great right now, but don't undermine Diablo's (or even
Arthas's?) chance here. Blizzard fans ARE being linked here on WoW's
forum (and don't put it past DII's front page again either), he's in a
difficult position so rallying might become more encouraged, Diablo
definitely has a solid day-vote while Mega Man and KOS-MOS lack such,
the match is still young, and we saw what happened yesterday. Diablo's
definitely still in this match... ...but Arthas isn't doing him any favors, and we'll have to see how KOS-MOS does until day-light to make a more solid prediction here. --- PETITION: a "Contest Suggestions" board.
