Where did this thought process come from? Judging from his contest appearance and just what I'd expect, Vergil's a low midcarder. Arthas is surprising me, but give me Vergil to outdo Arthas's performance pretty easily here.

Vergil is hardly respectable. The only way Vergil might do better here is because there's no one for him to worry about SFF-wise. Take Diablo out of the equation, and Arthas would rock Vergil. Got no doubts on that.

Arthas is doing a whole lot better than I expected. Maybe he's significantly stronger than Kerrigan, after all.

I'm still completely unsure about Vergil/Thrall, though this match at least keeps Thrall in contention still. If Arthas completely bombed I would have felt a lot better about my Vergil pick, as it is now, I'm still completely confused.

enough to overcome someone as weak as Vergil.

We don't know how much Diablo is affecting Arthas though, if at all.

Just playing Devil's Advocate here. I've got Thrall, but I could see it going either way.

Total number of brackets is low, isn't it? The ratio of total brackets to total votes is even lower than other contests, so bracket votes should be less of a factor overall.

I never really understood the comparison. Kerrigan is only important if you pay attention to StarCraft's story (outside of a few missions where she's playable). Arthas is prominent AND hyped in the WCverse, and he is THE playable main character for half of WC3. And hero units are a *lot* more important in WC3 than they are in SC...

The board bracket votes like crazy early in the contest, and since Mega Man was the extremely safe pick they went with KOS-MOS.

Of course, this assumes that most of the board had KOS-MOS...where's NGamer with the guru stats when you need him?

Eh, I think you're seriously underrating Vergil here. If Vergil was in this 4 pack instead of Arthas I'd be struggling with it at least a little. 65% on Ghaleon is probably somewhat comparable to Bison's 65% on Albedo, and Bison gives Diablo a close match. Heck, even any of KOS-MOS's victories.

Now there was the issue of Vergil getting the crap kicked out of him against Seph. I blame the picture for that.

Arthas and Mega Man. There's no way he can make up a 3% difference when he and KOS-MOS are barely playing with 35% to begin with. KOS-MOS just has to hold this until daybreak.

Wait, thinking Diablo is done for... excuse me? Why in the world would this not be KOS's best time-frame, and by a wide margin? And why in the world would the Blizzard vote not own the day over a semi-cult RPG character, and given how pathetic people have made MM look once the sun comes up?

Anyways,

Guru Numbers (with 95 brackets reporting so far)

Diablo - 51 (53.68%)
KOS-MOS - 42
Arthas - 2

First number is people that picked the character in the right spot. Second number is the number of people that picked that character to advance, but have him in the wrong spot.

29.96% had Yoshi in first, and 37.78% for second.
21.34% had Knuckles in second, and 50.91% had Knuckles in first. WHAT THE....?!

...alright, looks like this one is still far from over. I got too confident with those 40+ vote updates. Diablo can certainly make a comeback once the day hits, considering that the day vote is always much longer than the night, KOS has to build a really nice sized lead for me to feel comfy about this one.
