Face Arthas is like one of the most recognisable characters in a game
shop. At least in my country (5% of visitors here) and I am sure in
most other Asian Pacific countries too. Sure we don't know his name or
personality, but heck that face is so damn popular. Take away that

hmm, that match with Ryu is actually pretty even. I thought Ryu would have done a bit better. Also, fun lil' coincidence: Kerrigan's match is tomorrow. If WoW's
forum keeps linking and DII's site gives some front page coverage
again, then this could rally some extra newfound support for Kerrigan.
Throw in SC2 being announced since last time we saw her and possibly
getting a box-shot for once, and we'll likely see her best performance

Has Kerrigan ever got her exact Brood War face in previous match? Even
with that face, she may only get up to Arthas level and won't be enough

No, Kerrigan has never gotten the Brood War box shot in any match. And
not standing out? Kerrigan's Brood War shot is probably the most
memorable image in any RTS out there to this date - if only because
it's what people see EVERY time they start up Starcraft. You'd better
not tell me the effect would be negligible on her in the same breath

That's the difference. People don't even have to purchase any
Warcraft games to see Arthas' face. And not everyone play Starcraft... Uh... same with StarCraft. It's a BOX shot. And - even with potential overrating - StarCraft is damn popular on this site. People just don't care about the characters - but then again, that shouldn't matter under your postulation, correct? The point is I honestly don't believe it, and I believe Kerrigan will bomb no matter what she gets - but that's also partially because you're wrong. Arthas might be doing *worse* with a different picture, but it in no way relegates him to bottom-of-the-barrel fodder status. You don't get to be the main character in WarCraft III for half the game and not garner a healthy following. --- delicious cats Commit it to memory. |

Kerrigan's face is on the Brood War box. You can randomly see that at the store. Well, I think this pic factor only applies to people who confused
whether to vote Diablo or Arthas, and looks like Face Arthas is taking

I actually think that pictures will mean the least
in this format. when there's two characters, there's a lot of "uhh I'll
pick you" going on, but when you've got four? chances are someone's
going to know/like at least one character and pictures aren't going to
change a whole lot. that Arthas picture is pretty awesome and might sway some people on the fence, but it's not going to make some kid go "YO THAT BOX ART IS BADASS, SUCK IT MEGA MAN" --- "where the heck does diablo get his votes from on weekends?
