Explanation of Extrapolated Standings:
http://sc2k5.com/drupal/node/11

Simple Explanation of Extrapolated Standings:
A = Strongest Character
B = Character Weaker than A
C = Character Weaker than B
To figure out a character's Xsts Percentage ---> [(CvB)(BvA)]/50 = CvA
To compare how C would do against B ---> [(CvA)/(BvA)]*50 = CvB
To figure out how B would do against A ---> [(CvA)/(CvB)]*50 = BvA

Also, this is the REAL WAY to pronounce KOS-MOS.

Kos, as in 'coast' without the t sound at the end.
Mos, as in 'most' without the t sound at the end.

2700, and Magus made up 300 of that by midnight, and another 700 from midnight to 3 AM.

Bout 2500. Magus only took about 600 or 700 back... and he had three more hours to do it than Rikku had. And he didn't have Vaan and Yoshi to bug him. Not liking Rikku's chances, here. But... go Rikku!

It's also notable that Magus made up that difference in a head-to-head poll. In a format like this, where Yoshi and even Vaan are sucking up so many votes, coming back from 1200 down just isn't feasible.

2300 so Magus had already cut into the lead by 400.

Yeah, Magus made up 170 votes in 10 minutes to start off his comeback.....which was followed by hours of no real significant cuts. Suspicious.
---

Lopen | Posted 9/3/2007 3:40:38 PM | message detail
Well it's not quite as big a problem as it looks, because although Yoshi and Vaan are stealing almost half the votes, the poll is also looking to get about 1.5 times the votes. So if Rikku hacked at Knuckles as well as Magus did she could take 3/4ths his total.

Obviously, that's not gonna cut it here, she has to be more effective than Magus was. But I'm just saying.

Let's see we're expected to get 166k votes (probably less because the vote total is slowing down faster than usual) and if we remove the predicted Yoshi and Vaan votes Rikku needs to get over 53% of the vote over Knuckles.

It's possible, just not likely... I think .

Granted I made my bracket in about five minutes without giving much thought to things when it was released, and just now realized the contest started and looked at the last few updates realizing I should have probably edited the bracket once or twice, so I really have no idea what the hell I'm talking about at the moment. >_>
