I've had Dante > leon since day 1, and still do, but I think it'll
be closer than most expect, and really wouldn't be surprised if Leon
won. I think I think higher of yoshi than most people too, so that
certainly sways me in favor of Dante, and I really doubt that REWii did

I didn't hesitate on Dante > Leon since I figured Dante's fans were
a little more crazy about him... Leon gets a lot of his popularity just

I think that, in that fourpack, the fact that Leon is Nintendo should
be given more weight given that he is the only "Nintendo" character of
the four. Certainly, that should make it more important than just

Ivy got 24% on Tifa. Vyse got 22% on Tifa. Nightmare most likely is
stronger than Ivy. I don't see why people are having trouble with this

I don't see why Vyse is suddenly some pillar of strength in this
contest. I personally think he's going to fold in this type of contest.
I'm not sold just because he got 20% on Tifa and Cloud and 35% on
Donkey Kong, especially with his last performance against Tifa being
his worst as far as the stats go. I'd feel pretty good about taking

Random thought. If Yoshi can win a multi-poll with the likes of Bowser, Luigi, and Mario in it, twice,
why are we so iffy on Yoshi beating Knuckles out in the presence of
Mega Man? I mean, yeah Mega Man beat Yoshi bad one-on-one, but who's to
say that Yoshi would do much worse than that percentage with Knuckles
added in, if he did so well in other multi-polls? As much as I love

I have another thought, though: if Mario doesn't do well in
multi-option polls, then why wouldn't Yoshi, or anything other Mario

As for Vyse, a big reason why I'm picking him so I don't have to go
through that "I told ya Nightmare was worthless" crap, even though the

Nightmare probably isn't going to be significantly stronger than Vyse
in any case. The big dropoff that Vyse had in 2k5 could've been a

That match scares the crap out of me. I always thought Ganon may've had
it in him to defeat Sonic (some weird Sonic-Nintendo connection,
perhaps?) and last year's pre-contest poll doesn't exactly boost my
faith in Sonic in multi-option polls. Don't know what I'm talking about? http://www.gamefaqs.com/poll/index.html?poll=2497 Obviously Sonic did scads better, but the point is, if Sonic could finish under Sora there, is he susceptible to be upset by Ganon? Master Chief won't even be in that match, and Sonic equaled Cloud on
top in the "who do you want in brawl" poll. The poll you linked was

I beg to differ - if anything, the Brawl poll reeked of expectations,

Well, I wouldn't expect Sonic to equal Cloud in any actual match. It is
of note that the question was phrased in terms of desire, not
expectations. But actual votes were probably a combination of
favoritism with expectations, just like the other poll (favoritism in a
possible but unlikely upset, and mostly plain ignorance leading to

I have Ganondorf upsetting Sonic...I do believe it's possible, but I
probably wouldn't take it if I weren't such a huge Ganon fanboy.

http://www.gamefaqs.com/poll/index.html?poll=2498 I almost forgot this poll existed as well, which, despite validity... come on, Samus needed a measly 7% increase from a poll that had Tifa, Zelda, and Yuna (along with all the other female contestants, if you wanna be really technical). That's without pictures, too (which goes against the argument that she did so poorly because people don't know the name "Samus Aran" without the suit to go with it). I wanna see ZSS again... the theory that it had such an extreme impact is still hard for me to wrap my head around (at least we expect Sprite Snake to bomb every year at this point). ...speaking of Sprite Snake, it seems like he'd be mighty upset prone if that were to happen in a poll with Sonic this year... --- delicious cats Commit it to memory. |

PS3 - 21% Wii - 34% 360 - 45% ...things worth pointing out include that 16% of the voters were women and 56% of them sided with the Wii, 84% of the voters were men and 49% of them sided with the 360, 50% of the voters were 18-24 years old and 38% of them were for the Wii, and 42% of the voters were 13-17 and 48% of them were for the 360. Just fun-facts though, I wouldn't take them for much value on GameFAQs today...but that's a taste of what gamers who don't go to game-specific sites feel like, and they might even lead to future trends? Also, G4 announced the Wii is the #1 best-selling system worldwide this
generation afew days ago. I believe both it and the 360 were lingering
around 10,500,000 sales, but the Wii had edged it out. This was despite
the 360 having a one-year head start, mind you, while the Wii has been

Well, if MC makes it, I have a hard time thinking that Snake would do
better than Sonic. If any two characters among those four share the
most fanbase with each other, it would be Snake and Master Chief, I
think. Plus, Ganondorf steals away some of Snake's strength from SSBB,
probably. If it's Dante or Leon that makes it... well, I think Dante would steal votes from Snake to allow Sonic the victory, too. As for Leon... he'd probably split enough miniscule fanbase-splitting with Ganondorf and Sonic to allow Snake the victory... As much as I want Ganondorf to win the pack (for upset's sake), I just can't see him doing that well... I had Ganondorf getting 2nd place to Snake for quite some time, but I felt extremely uncomfortable with that... I don't see how Snake and Master Chief share a fanbase, heck, Snake and
Ganondorf probably have a larger shared fanbase than Snake/MC and even
that is negligible. But I do believe that any of the four could advance in that poll, Snake and Sonic having a better chance than the other 2 of course. |

| Talking about Crash, him>PW and Bomberman seems like a funny upset. Crash wasn't that much weaker than Bomberman in the lol 2k4 x-stats, and he had like a dozen games since 2k4(sure, nobody cares about them, but neither do they about Bomberman's games!). He even has a Wii game coming in October, so he even has some inkling of hype behind him. Farfetched? I know and I don't care, viva le Crash! |

He's not too far off Bomberman in the 2k4 stats, but he was also overrated by Solid **** vs. Frog. --- Donkey Kong Country 2 for next Games contest. This line reserved for next Guru winner. Unless it's me, therefore reserving plenty of noms for Dixie/DKC2. |

years It should've been 50/50 according to the stats, sure. Doesn't necessarily mean squat. Personally, I think Bowser was still coming off of a Villains Contest high, as was Ganondorf. Then you saw him fall back to earth the next year. Oh, and as far as the "SF becoming less significant" talk, wasn't Street Fighter II Turbo in the Top 10 Virtual Console American sales list? That doesn't sound like a game that's insignificant to me... Random thought. ...Knuckles won his Favorites poll, too, you know. If Mega Man hurts
Yoshi to any significant degree, Knuckles will be able to capitalize on
it. It's not like he's not a fan favorite, too. Yeah, but I was more talking about how people bring up Mega Man SFFing Yoshi one-on-one. If Yoshi can win a poll with potential SFF from Mario, Bowser, and Luigi, I'm pretty sure he wouldn't be hurt too much from a poll with Mega Man and Knuckles... I don't really see that much of a difference. I never said that Knuckles couldn't win it, I'm just wondering why people are counting Yoshi out because Mega Man is there. Yes, Yoshi got SFF'd by Mega Man head-to-head. He also got SFF'd by Link. But he still managed to do well in the two multi-polls that we've seen. Basically, I'm just saying I don't see why Yoshi shouldn't be favored over Knuckles. Yeah, I don't see what the big deal about the Virtual Console is. Yeah,
you can download and play Streets of Rage. But can you play Streets of
