Good work Haste, I was considering working those out myself. Now finish the bracket with them! Regarding today's poll... Have you entered the Character Battle yet? Yes, I think I can win it 9.7% 961 Yes, but I doubt I'll do well 21.58% 2138 Not yet, I'm still doing research 16.45% 1630 No, it just looks too complicated this year 20.89% 2070 No, I'm tired of the yearly battles 31.39% 3110 TOTAL VOTES 9909 Shame that 30% appear to have just noticed that its another character battle and said "meh, more of the same" without looking into it... they're missing a heck of an exciting bracket. Just wondering... how did you apply the x-stats with a multi-way
battle? I came up with something general that I think works but it's
long and annoying. Set Samus to a constant (say, 45%), then figure out what percentage Frog gets on Samus. Then, divide that percentage by what Samus would get on Frog. Then, multiply that by the constant I gave to Samus (45%). Do that for Axel and Kerrigan, as well. Then, I add up everyone's percentage, figure out how far off from 100% I am, then multiply everyone's percentage by a constant so it all adds up to 100%. I wouldn't be surprised if you did it the same way. Maybe it would be slightly better if I calculated the percentage expected on Samus from the begining, and set Samus' x-stat value to 50%. so, since Knuckles and Shadow were equal in 2004, is it assumed Shadow

I'm not buying people going Samus > Laharl > Kirby or
something like that. it's really not going to matter when people don't
know who you are. Yeah, you say that kinda stuff all the time, but yet we've SEEN it happen. People go Yoshi > Pac-Man > Luigi. People go Cloud > Vyse > Tifa. It does happen, regardless of how unlikely you think it is. It's not like every cult character becomes someone that gets voted for every time someone who's played that game sees them in a poll. They have preferences, too. Not all Disgaea fans vote Laharl over everyone else. You're not going to see Samus, Kirby, and Yoshi all score the same on Laharl. It ain't gonna happen. I'm sure there are Disgaea fans who like Samus and Kirby more than Laharl but not Yoshi, or something like that. What's so ridiculous about that? It's the same as with ANY other character. Being cult only changes how many people are out there to be able to have such a preference. ...And why Lloyd is the big favorite to take second in his fourpack is beyond me. Also, I highly doubt most of GameFAQs gives half a crap about some
random Mii. I'd wager Little Mac is a more appealing "joke vote,"
especially if he gets the same picture he got on Link way back when.

I didn't know Lloyd was disliked by a lot of people. Assuming he has a strong following among those who are big fans of his game (just like HK-47 is near-universally adored by KOTOR fans) it's not that big of a stretch to imagine that Lloyd fans will outnumber HK-47 fans on this site. And yes, that's because of the platform issue - GameFAQs support for PC/Xbox characters has been very weak, Master Chief aside. But if Lloyd is disliked by a significant portion of ToS fans, I'll gladly switch my prediction to HK-47. My main issue with Jak at the moment is that I don't see many people voting for him unless they don't know Zero, Lloyd, OR HK-47 - and even then, non-Nintendo platformers tend to be anti-voted regardless of who they're up against, so even if people don't know any of the other characters, is isn't automatically assured that Jak will get the casual vote. --- Official Queen ***** of the Universe! Punch Out's got a following. Not gargantuan, but way over 10% of the
site. And of that following, he's likely to have a good chunk of the

Let's see here: Poll 2725 (04/18/07) How old are you? 989 0.81% Under 10 6973 5.71% 10-13 38352 31.43% 14-17 33467 27.43% 18-20 28252 23.15% 21-25 9078 7.44% 26-30 3676 3.01% 31-40 1233 1.01% Over 40 Punch-Out!! was released in 1984. Assuming the minimum age of someone playing it to be 6 yrs old (sounds reasonable to me), the youngest gamers when it first came out would be over thirty now. Since people may have played Punch-Out!! years after it came out too, I think the cut-off for people who are likely to have played it is the 26-30 bracket. So 10% isn't a bad guess...but add in that it's a classic, and there's a good likelihood that maybe 20% of the site has actually played the game...which is more than I can say for Amaterasu. --- Official Queen ***** of the Universe!
