And yes, transtats are quite lovely. They have a couple problems...but then, so does every set of stats. --- Rapid analysis, accurate judgment, and superb powers of concentration. That is all we need. |

It would've been funny if that was the very first contest and we had
those x-stats... then if SC2K7 was a traditional character contest,
everyone would be like, "You have Auron over Yuna? You n00b! Yuna's a
main character, and even the stats say she's stronger!" --- "Ah, a party! We haven't had one of those. It could be fun! So...what is a party?" "Well, you drink punch and eat CAKE! ...I think." |

this is the reason I chose Squall, actually. it kept the numbers DOWN
while minimizing the casualities (basically, just Squall). every other
option had midcarders beating elites, elites beating half the noble

Ugh, a former no-name in Ike lucks out with the perfectly-timed Brawl
announcement, while Diddy has to fight his way through a million rounds
in the Rally tournament, struggle to gain all his noms, then have a
free pass into the Contest written for him one week too late for it to

I really stopped caring about stats altogether. When we all start
nitpicking whether a character should be .5% higher or lower, I
realized that it's all pretty much a waste of time. I sometimes forget
that the x-stats are still by all means a recap of how each of the
characters did in the previous contest. That's it. It's not a strict

The only thing I'd be sure about is Koopa's winning, but any of the
other 3 could feasibly take second. Goomba's are probably the most well
known, but they're intentionally lame, not sure how well that goes down
popularity wise. Boos and Shy Guys are both awesome, and whilst Boo is
playable in lots of Mario Sports and Party titles and has Luigi's
Mansion, Shy Guy only has Yoshi's Island games, although they are the
primary enemies, and the games themselves are more popular than the

I recently had a strange thought. What if Sonic was announced in Brawl
on the Tokyo Game Show? I distinctly remember Reggie saying that they
still had something in store for Brawl, and the TGS seems like the best
place for some big announcement. The TGS takes place early contest, so
the trailer would have time to sink in. So if Sonic was announced, would any of you take him over Snake? |

One on one? Sure, variation is possible, but Snake kicked Sonic's ass
pretty thoroughly the last time and it's not like Sonic has much to
gain without anything Brawl-related (not to mention he naturally has
relatively less to gain than Snake did). I mean, come on, Mega Man was projected to beat Snake with a piddling 52% with 2k5 stats and people were saying that upset was impossible -_- --- delicious cats Commit it to memory. |

Shame, Goomba is a running joke on my social board, we would pick him over anyone in a heartbeat. I think it would have to be koopa > shy guy, although boo and goomba might be close in second. We have Kooper and Koops from Paper Mario to thank for that. Plus the fact that turtles are awesome. --- I did it for the lulz! |

I really stopped caring about stats altogether. I think it will matter at least somewhat in most matches. I think that the higher the percentage that the character gets, the more the x-stats can be applied to that character. So, I would think Vincent and Zelda would have a close match as expected, since they'd both get a high percentage of the vote. Meanwhile, I wouldn't apply stats so much to, say, Vyse and Nightmare (who's fighting for second), since Solid Snake is gonna blow them out. And, of course, you'd have to watch for fanbase splitting... which I don't think will amount to a lot as some expect. I don't think, say, Knuckles/Yoshi will have much fanbase splitting... we'll see, though. --- "Ah, a party! We haven't had one of those. It could be fun! So...what is a party?" Yeah, I was going by the two losses thing, with the later loss being much worse, face blasted be damned. I really need feedback, like, badly...
it's about the original Betting contest... where you simply bet on who
wins. Naturally, SC2K7 is great for this, but it's not easy to decide

Wario getting first place over Fox should be considered more. With the
one reading of Fox we had, he was weaker than Tails. Wario also has had
more reason to increase than Fox had... Fox's games have been
lackluster, while Wario Ware has shined. He might not have been
featured much in those games, but I think it's worth more for him than
what Fox got. Plus, Wario's announced for SSBB. I also see Fox
splitting votes with Captain Falcon more than with Wario, since I
believe Fox got a lot of his popularity from SSBM... I never liked him
much until SSBM, where he actually had style. Whatever. I can't believe I've had Fox over Wario all this time... I can't pass up the chance to see Wario win, and not have him that way in my bracket. Mudkip/Pit is really killing me. Kid Icarus is actually on VC (is PIt

I mean, even if you don't take Mudkip as a joke... he's a starter Pokemon on the GBA Pokemon games. That definitely should
make him at least more popular than Nidoran F. The joke votes should

Mudkip's the starter in what's probably (if the site isn't totally
crazy) the least popular group of games in the series. Nidoran F is a
frequently seen Pokemon in the most popular Pokemon game on the site,
as well as G/S/C, so I think... barring joke votes... Nidoran would be
more popular than Mudkip. Maybe not, I'm not sure. Nidoran M was always way cooler, but still I think being first generation helps a lot. --- OH JEEZE! |
