I just noticed that Wario has a decent shot at making it to Round 3 is
CATS beats out Peach against Sephiroth. We all know Wario has a more

I've had Vincent > Crono since day 1. I've brought it up a couple
times, but it hasn't really sparked any serious discussion. Most people
seem to feel like it's not gonna happen, but no one's given me any crap
for it either. I would still take Crono 1v1, but I just feel like
Vincent will be able to get those extra couple of % points in this
format. It's pretty much a crapshoot, and I'm taking gambles all over

Catching up to the topic here. Time for me to bring up something else that's bothering me now... Snake/Squall/Sonic/Kirby. I instinctively just went with Snake > Sonic, but the more I think of it, the more I want to take Sonic > Snake. I actually have Sonic > Snake for a while now. As some of you may know, I'm a big fan of MGS-FF SFF (Snake would obviously get the better end of the SFF, but he would still lose some votes, and Sonic just has no one taking away his votes. I love Snake, and I'll vote for him in this match, but I gotta take Sonic to take it. --- 'At least your sword is to the point.' *One_Winged_Ange* |

Heh, sorry about that, but don't expect it to be. The script I made
to display a bracket can't be made to work with 4 people, and I don't
think it's an important feature so I'm not going to bother with it.
Unless someone wants to send me some HTML that I can just paste up. I know it's futile, but I gotta agree in that I love that bracket function, and it being absent for 2k6 (and 2k7, apparently :p) does suck somewhat. --- 'At least your sword is to the point.' *One_Winged_Ange* |

I'm not saying that Sonic > Snake in any BR. Hell the very next
round I bounce right back to Snake > Sonic. Just with Kirby and
Squall there, I think it could be just enough for Sonic to get past

Snake had Cloud and Link to drain him and he still beat Sephiroth.
Do you think Sonic would be as strong as Sephiroth in that situation
(Sephiroth sharing with Cloud that is...)? Hmm, not much of an argument. Sephiroth loses more votes to Cloud than Snake does, and yes I do see Sonic beating Snake in this poll. --- 'At least your sword is to the point.' *One_Winged_Ange* |

than Snake does, and yes I do see Sonic beating Snake in this poll. And the point of the post was missed again. We all know that Sephiroth lost votes to Cloud, yet he was still decent in those polls. I wouldn't expect Sonic to have beaten Sephiroth in that four-way poll... Remember, Snake barely got through that. I don't see how people expect that Sonic would be stronger than Sephiroth in that battle royal when Snake had to fight with all of his might to beat him. Unless you think Sonic would do better than Snake and SFF'd Sephiroth. I don't see Sonic doing either. Not to be down on Snake, but there's a clear reason why he won that
match outside of his own popularity. It didn't have to be "cheating"
per se, but there's a reason why Snake was beating Link at the beginning of that day, and only that day - the entire anti-Sephiroth force was thrown behind him. --- delicious cats Commit it to memory. |

First of all, hell yeah Sephiroth got a respectable percentage in these polls -- he's been performing greatly on Cloud (possibly rSFFing him). I just see Snake losing so many votes to Cloud/Sephiroth. Hell, he lost mine. Lol anecdotal evidence. But whatever, a very important item here is Link. With a complete powerhouse poll containing Clinkeroth, sure it's difficult for anyone to make a statement, and props to Snake for doing so. But Link just sucks so many votes. He's not in this here Snake/Sonic poll though. I hate the argument that Kirby will steal some Snake SSBB votes, I rather see him taking some Sonic votes. I find SEGA/Nintendo to have a close relationship (and thus I understand not taking Sonic to beat Sephiroth in that poll). However, Squall/Snake's where it's at. Vincent-Zelda 1 on 1 is arguable (with Vincent taking it, at least for me) but then there's The Boss sucking some Sony votes. Lol MGS/FF SFF. Meh I can see it happening the other way around, but I've got Zelda > Vincent and I'm sticking to it. there's basically two ways for me to look at this contest: an actual
four-way melee in which involves people voting the same way they would
in a two vs two, and a way that actually makes you think about the word

I've got Vincent > Crono. CT's now another generation older and
Vincent has held up very well in both FF-polls (though the GameFAQs one
is misleading -- Sephiroth isn't in that one!) and against Noble Niners
one-on-one. I trust many Crono fans are diligent...but I wonder if they

This is a very good point - similar to what I mentioned earlier about rallies/cheating having a more leveraged impact with more characters. Things like message board bandwagons have a much better chance in this format - because not only are their double the characters, but 2nd place also matters, and usually 2nd place will be way behind 1st, and the difference between 2nd/3rd will on average be less than the difference between 1st/2nd (as per exponential distribution properties). --- www.gamefaqscontests.com www.gamefaqscontests.com/gallery |

Interesting poll: http://www.gamefaqs.com/poll/index.html?poll=2762 It's an awkward question to judge by and there was a natural lean towards Sonic...but Master Chief did rather poorly there for having as hardcore of a fanbase as he's supposed to have. Granted, he was ahead of the rest of the non-Noble Niners and landed ahead of two people he arguably couldn't beat head-to-head, not to mention it's an eight-option poll...but despite all that and the unusual question, it's still weird to see MC not breaking 10%. I dunno, maybe that's just me... ...at the same time though, once you replace people like Crono with Yuna (no comparison), Cloud with Alucard (who he's doubled before), Mega Man with Ganondorf (not quite as many people's favorites), ditch the other options, throw in Halo 3, and not feature a question asked towards SSB-fans...yeah, MC should look much more like he should. Now, I fervently disagree with MC having a "hardcore fanbase," but if
he did, I don't think they would be the type of people to want him in
Nintendo games. Alternatively, the possibility of enough franchises
with cooler characters stealing away the fans that might vote MC
because of Halo and not knowing/caring about the competition (mire

I wouldn't look at that poll and take anything from it. Which character do you want to see in Brawl? Master Chief? Really?
I don't think it says much, or is even worth really thinking on, about
what the Chief is capable of in a contest like this. The content of the
question makes me have a hard time looking at that and taking anything
