In fact Jak was the strongest of the
platforming characters. He even ranked above Conker. And then that's
not including any possible SFF that Auron may have suffered against
Sephiroth (Ness and Scorpion are both underrated). I still don't see why Jak isn't even entering the discussion... --- Currently playing: Guitar Hero 2, Gears of War, Saint's Row, SotN (XBLA), Burnout Revenge |

Mario is in that match. Pac-Man has no chance in hell of getting second place. Yeah, that's kind of what I said in Point One, except I was trying to give a reasoning besides Contest History (not that you were, but others have). --- Thank you, Eddie Guerrero. Character Battle V Contest Winner! |
swirIdude | Posted 8/15/2007 7:23:56 PM | message detail |
It seems like Jak is being left out because RPGs tend to have the more
hardcore fanbases, which a 4 man battle helps. And that's true. But Jak
definitely needs to be discussed. --- Pokemon FC: 0129 8285 9148 Jump Ultimate Stars FC: 1504 2045 7334 |

Argh, I was already going to go to bed fretting over Alucard/Ness/Zidane/Liquid. Alucard > Liquid, but any combination not involving Zidane wouldn't shock me. --- Thank you, Eddie Guerrero. Character Battle V Contest Winner! |
Kratos_42 | Posted 8/15/2007 7:24:43 PM | message detail |
I'm still going to take Pac-Man as my second place character, there. Upset pick/gut pick. --- He wields the blade of a fallen hero, but now he is the hero, and it is the others who fall. He is rising. |
UltimaterializerX | Posted 8/15/2007 7:24:47 PM | message detail |
I've got Jak getting second place in that match, because he's
underrated by Auron's being SFFd by Sephiroth. If I remember correctly,
Jak and HK are something like 1.5% apart in the 2004 stats. When in
doubt, I go with whoever is more likely to be underrated. Worked for me
in picking Yoshi > Dante and Vincent > Ganon last year. ~*ST*~ --- Petition for a system notification when a contribution is removed: http://boards.gamefaqs.com/gfaqs/genmessage.php?board=7&topic=37308859 |

Jak did get beaten by Ness pre-Nintendo boost, though. Hmm, 2003 Isaac beats 2002 Pikachu 60-40. Does Isaac have a shot here, or has Golden Sun become too old to compete? (I'm thinking too old, but Pikachu is fun to hate, and who knows what Serge does). Don't forget Isaac got SFF'd there. That keeps him from wearing out a little. --- Rapid analysis, accurate judgment, and superb powers of concentration. That is all we need. |

Luigi and Yoshi absolutely demolished Pac-Man. Just imagine for a
second what Mario is going to do to him. Pac could seriously get a
better percentage on Link than Mario. ~*ST*~ --- Petition for a system notification when a contribution is removed: http://boards.gamefaqs.com/gfaqs/genmessage.php?board=7&topic=37308859 |

yeah, but how many people are going to go Mario > Pac-Man >
Luigi? not that many. Mario's not going to get 90% on Pac-Man or
anything. --- xexyz |

Tifa SFF'd Vyse more than Cloud. Things don't always go the way you think they will with SFF. --- Rapid analysis, accurate judgment, and superb powers of concentration. That is all we need. |

I think the 4-pack is going to change that a bit, Ulti. --- He wields the blade of a fallen hero, but now he is the hero, and it is the others who fall. He is rising. |

I really doubt Big Boss gets a MGS3 picture. The old man is Big
Boss, the young guy is Naked Snake, at least in the eyes of the fans. It'd be nice if he could get a picture from Portable Ops. That one is decidedly "Big Boss," just younger. http://img186.imageshack.us/img186/4695/mpobossdq6.jpg --- Believe |

Jak did get beaten by Ness pre-Nintendo boost, though. And? pre-Nintendo boost Ness did just as well as Tails and Scorpion against Auron. In fact, we don't have any data on Ness post-Nintendo boost due to being demolished by Mario in 2k5. I don't see where your point comes in... --- Currently playing: Guitar Hero 2, Gears of War, Saint's Row, SotN (XBLA), Burnout Revenge |

There's absolutely no way of knowing if Isaac got SFF'd or not. That's an absolute guess. Speaking of absolute guesses, I was trying to determine percentages for my personal analyses, and I've just realized how hard this is going to be. --- "As long as I'm with you...as long as you're by my side...I won't give up, even if I'm scared." - Tifa Lockheart |

It'd be nice if he could get a picture from Portable Ops. That one is decidedly "Big Boss," just younger. http://img186.imageshack.us/img186/4695/mpobossdq6.jpg What an odd looking bulge he has... --- Rapid analysis, accurate judgment, and superb powers of concentration. That is all we need. |

yeah, but how many people are going to go Mario > Pac-Man > Luigi? not that many. Ehh, I've never really bought that way of thinking. Taking Vyse's results straight up against both, Cloud beats Tifa with 57.61%. I'm taking Jak over HK-47 and Lloyd. Jak did better against Ness than
CJ (ignoring the potential Nintendo Boost in 2k5) and he's had two
games since 2k4. He's also the name-sake of his series and it's not
like Zero is a Noble Niner -- it's not going to rely on the most
hardcore fans duking it out against one-another. I figure Lloyd's taking last place in that one, though HK-47 could steal second if Jak's not careful. --- PETITION: a "Contest Suggestions" board. Life-changing details below: http://boards.gamefaqs.com/gfaqs/genmessage.php?board=7&topic=35717580 |

Issac doesn't have a chance in hell against Pikachu, and I'm probably
underrating the rat more than anyone. Pikachu's 2k2 value is from an
underrated Cloud, and I certainly think Pokemon hate has died down from
