Raptor's question actually reminds me of something interesting. IIRC,
Fenix did pretty terribly in the nomination tally topic, so he made it
riding casual support and nothing but. Obviously, that's not new or

I, for one, am glad to see a radical shake-up. Last year's contest
honestly bored me after my bracket got knocked out. Yes, my bracket
gets knocked out every year but usually the drama of each match keeps
me interested until the conclusion. I just tuned out the whole contest

however, I'll say this: once we see one round of this contest, it will
become a lot more predictable. right now it's like "uhh.. what the crap
is going to happen?", but I'll have a muuuuuuch better feel on a lot of

Division 3 CATS Meta Knight Princess Peach Sephiroth WOO Meta Knight! That’s right, I’m torally taking Meta-Knight over Peach as the second place winner, and I really don’t know why right now. I just have a funny feeling. We all know Kirby > Peach makes sense, right? RIGHT?! And Peach struggled against Jill. Meta-Knight HAS to be better than Jill! He totally won’t get SFF’d either! Oh yeah right, uhh, Sephiroth will make all three of these characters look like jobbas regardless. Poor old CATS doesn’t get fully utilized as a joke character in favor of lots of other joke characters like Zolom, Bidoof, and Matt making the cut. Winners: Sephiroth, Meta Knight Banjo Captain Falcon Fox McCloud Wario Holy crap Banjo made it!! Pretty cool to see him in one of these. Too bad he’ll be playing the happy to be here game most likely. I honestly don’t know if he’ll be behind Falcon though. Fox and Wario will prove why they deserve to be back in a decent fashion hopefully. Right now I’ve got Fox over Wario, but it’s hard to predict which one of them will get first honestly. This fourpack will be thought over quite a bit by me probably. Winners: Fox, Wario Big Boss Mario Pac-Man Wander I don’t even care about this match. No one deserves second place. There all Mario fodder. Were gonna go with Pac-Man to pull second place off though. He beat Ocelot, so he can beat Big Boss, and Wander is gonna fail miserably. Winners: Mario, Pac-Man Bomberman Crash Bandicoot Phoenix Wright Magus Aww yeah Magus gets a great welcome back gift. I’d mark out if Magus got 70% >_> for some wild reason I see Bomberman getting second place here. Mainly because of the popularity of his games on XBLA I’ve been noticing. Course PW does have a new game coming soon, and Bomberman/Phoenix was wildly debated…I expect the majority of Board 8 picking PW here. Winners: Magus, Bomberman Sephiroth Meta Knight Fox Wario Something tells me something completely wacky is going to happen here, this match will make the stats of this contest look even weirder by the end, and somehow, Wario will end up in second place. That’s what happens when your in a match with Sephiroth. Really weird ****. Honestly there’s no clear cut second place winner here though. Even if you picked Peach to beat out M Knight. Winners: Sephiroth, Wario Mario Pac-Man Magus Bomberman Bomberman and Pac-Man show that they are foddertastic and Magus gets by. Mario has a field day, maybe with a nice SMG pic. Winners: Mario, Magus Sephiroth Fox Mario Magus And so begins the epic wars that I expect Mario and Seph to have in this tournament. This is merely a matter of who is better at SFFing. Yeah, I'll agree with tranny there. Right now we have no clue where alot of the characters stand (Fenix, Midna, Kratos) but most of that will become apparant after their first round matches. Right now, I'm tore up on the Bowser-fourpack. I know Bowser should win
it and Ryu should be the strongest of the other three in general...and
furthermore, that Mewtwo and Toad will be competing against Bowser for
Nintendo-votes. That said, I can't help but feel like Bowser is going
to hurt Ryu like 2k5 again and Mewtwo has the support of the strong
Pokemon fanbase again (ala Samus/Nidoran F or Pokemon/Metroid).
Mewtwo's no Nidoran and Bowser and Toad combined are no Samus, so... ...I dunno though, picking between Ryu and Mewtwo right now is the hardest thing for me now that I relook over the bracket. --- PETITION: a "Contest Suggestions" board. --Nintendo's furthered domination here. You know, thinking on it, Nintendo's domination in these contests is probably restricted in a format like this. At least when feeling out the bracket, I never felt like Nintendo was just racking up win after win like it normally would. No real company wins big here, I don't think, which is kind of cool. Same thing with the Noble Nine; they don't seem to completely just wreck the bracket and make whole divisions wasted like they would in a standard format. --- Believe |

Division 4: Agent J Bidoof Link Miles Edgeworth This is amazing simply because Bidoof, one of the best joke characters this year, has a chance to make it to Round 2. I know you guys love Phoenix Wright chars and all, but Miles is totally not doing any better than Phoenix. The question here is whether or not Bidoof can withstand the massive SFF that Link will probably throw upon him. But something tells me he won’t feel the full effect since this is a Four Way. I’m gonna take a chance and say that Agent J will randomly fill in that role. Bidoof is totally making it <_< we all know Pokemon and joke characters are anti-SFF anyways >_> Winners: Link, Bidoof Miles 'Tails' Prower The Boss Vincent Valentine Zelda Winners: I’m surprised The Boss made another year honestly. I’m glad Tifa is being fed to two of the best upper tier characters we have around here, but that’s another story entirely. The real question here is how much Twilight Princess is going to do for Zelda. Right now I have Zelda over Vincent, but there is a lot of reason for me to question that decision. Especially considering how little Zelda was in TP. Winners: Zelda, Vincent Crono Sam Fisher Simon Belmont Raiden This is Raiden’s chance to show what he’s all about and see if he lives up to HM’s word. He can potentially prove a lot with how much of a margin he gets second place by. Crono isn’t falling to the likes of Raiden anytime soon here. Thanks for playing, Sam and Belmont! Winners: Crono, Raiden HK-47 Lloyd Irving Jak Zero Holy crap, Zero gets to win a match! Awesome! I expect Jak to come in last, and I expect HK-47 to randomly come in second place. But that’s because I doubt ToS characters. It might bite me in the ass here, who knows? But this match probably won’t matter too much anyways. Winners: Zero, HK-47 Link Bidoof Vincent Zelda The fact that Bidoof is in a match with the likes of Vincent, Zelda, and yes, even the award of being Link fodder is so funny. Zelda is gonna get SFF’d in tha butt here. Vincent survives bwahaha. Winners: Link, Vincent Crono Raiden HK-47 Zero Zero/Raiden is one hell of a matchup, and I think was discussed in the Stats topic a few times. I’m starting to think MGS4 hype is going to make Raiden just powerful enough to take Zero out though. But who knows, maybe were all overrating Raiden a little. I like both characters a lot, and I might switch to Zero for second place here actually. It’s a close call. Winners: Crono, Zero Link Vincent Crono Zero This is somewhat of a bleh match unless Vincent just comes out of no where and decides to overthrow Crono. I don’t think that’s going to be possible with Link in this match though. I see this match being very predictable and nothing of too much interest occurring. making the cut. Nah, CATS has a loyal fanbase. If he can pull his usual 10-15%, he's taking second place with little trouble. I think he's got a decent shot here. >_> |

Would I take Ness in a direct match against the likes of Liquid Snake or Alucard? Leonhart whines about this fourpack incessantly, Squall and Sonic advance, nothing very noteworthy. ...Why would I whine about this match? It's not like Squall is in danger of being eliminated. Now Kirby, Snake, Sonic, and Squall is the worst match EVER. Well, assuming Kirby gets there, that is. Speaking of which, I love the Squall/Aeris/Sora set-up. I figure Squall
and Sora take it, but it just looks so whack Square-wise: the
second-place woman of FF7 who has doubled Sora before, the star of the
KH series (who has had two new games since Aeris/Sora), and the star of

Division 5: Luigi Mudkip Pit Tingle Mudkip making it was unexpected and made me laugh several times when I first saw this bracket. That being said, Luigi is gonna make Mudkip and Tingle his *****es, and Pit is gonna live off good old SSBB hype! Winners: Luigi, Pit Ganondorf Ratchet Thrall Vergil Another Warcraft character, WTF. This is probably the most lackluster match to see who makes second place yet. But we’ll go with Vergil. He seems like the most logical choice I guess. Winners: Ganondorf, Vergil Master Chief PaRappa Tommy Vercetti Yuna Master Chief and Yuna are locks here of course, but Vercetti being in this match might make things interesting for the Chief…something tells me Halo 3 hype is going to put all this Vercetti/DK and Chief/DK nonsense to rest though. And for some reason I see Chief going over Yuna. Maybe I’m crazy but I think Halo 3 will actually make MC somewhat respectable this contest. Winners: Master Chief, Yuna Alucard Liquid Snake Ness Zidane Tribal This match is kind of killing me. Zidane is the odd man out of course, but can Liquid muster any strength to get second place? Right now I can picture Ness outlasting Liquid and Zidane fairly well though. He did beat CJ after all. Alucard beat Kratos a few years ago, even with his drop as of late, he’ll still be able to hold these three off. Winners: Alucard, Ness Luigi Pit Ganondorf Vergil I’ve got no friggin clue how Ganon/Luigi SFF is going to go. Samus did do pretty good on Ganon a couple years ago alright, but this is a post-TP Ganon now, and I think his boost will be better than Zelda’s. The real question here is if you would take Vincent over Luigi, and I’m pretty sure I would, Squall/Luigi from a few years back also sort of taken into consideration. Master Chief Yuna Alucard Ness I’ve got Chief winning here and Ness jacking second place and showing Alucard and Yuna up from outta no where right now >_> no but honestly I see this fourpack going well for Alucard and he’ll pull an upset over Yuna…perhaps. Ok yeah I’ve got no clue here. Winners: MC, Alucard Ganondorf Luigi MC Alucard At this point in the bracket, I believe Halo 3 will be out, but I still have an uneasy feeling here…for now I’ve got Ganondorf taking it and Luigi in second, but with Halo 3 coming out so soon, I’m really considering changing this pic. Does anyone else think Vyse will beat out Nightmare? Yes, absolutely. I never really understood the overwhelming support Nightmare gets around here. He seems to me like a character who would benefit greatly from his badass name and look, but in a match featuring the definitive badass of gaming, who the hell would vote for Nightmare other than a true fan? I think Snake is going to syphon all the casuals off of Nightmare. It
helps that they share the same Sony fanbase. Vyse will end up squeaking

I don't believe in any of this "casual" syphoning. But I took Nightmare
not because of his strength, but because of Vyse's utter crapitude.
I've said from the get-go that Nightmare was a wasted nom and was just
going to stink it up, but he managed to get a very winnable draw, and I
can't see someone that lost that bad to Tifa getting out of his

I'm skeptical of that whole idea that Snake siphons votes from
Nightmare. I've never thought much of Nightmare, but just being a
"badass" kind of character doesn't mean you automatically get shafted
against Snake. And Nightmare's not really a "Sony" character either --

Division 6: Amaterasu Dante Little Mac Matt (Wii Sports) I’m totally siding with Mac here to go for second place. I think Amaterasu is a little too cult and not well known enough and expect him to do about as good as King of all Cosmos, whereas Punchout is a classic. I totally don’t remember anything about Mac’s past sports, but I see him as a passable second placer here. Then again, who knows, people MIGHT just side with Matt. Right now I’m debating between Matt and Mac a bit. After all the Wii is incredibly popular on GameFAQs. Winners: Dante, Mac Ada Wong Balthier Bunansa Frank West Jade Curtiss One would assume Balthier would have first place in the bag here. But everyone seems to be under the indication that FF12 is gonna totally bomb here. I’m not so sure if he will or not, but Balthier is in a match full of fodder. I predict Ada to be able to take care of Frank and Jade decently though. Winners: Balthier, Ada Isaac Pikachu Serge Tidus I love that Serge is in this fourpack. He stands a chance! Sort of…probably not though. Pokemon is doing so well now with D/P and Battle Revolution being out…it’s like a resurge of the Pokemon Community has resurfaced somewhat. I guess Tidus will take first place here, but I doubt how well he’s going to do. Then again I also don’t give Tidus much credit. For now, Tidus and Pikachu is what I’ve got. I don’t feel comfortable with picking Serge for second, but I will sure as hell vote for him. Winners: Tidus, Pikachu Leon Kennedy Ridley Spyro the Dragon Vivi Ornitier Leon is gonna show these hos what’s up. Holy crap Vivi is back again! He’ll take second place with such fodder as Ridley and Spyro in the way easily. Even with MP3, Ridley won’t do a damn thing. Winners: Leon, Vivi Dante Mac Balthier Ada *Yawn* I don’t really care for this division at all for the most part, other than Serge getting in and Dante/Leon being set up.This match is incredibly predictable. Dante wins and Balthier makes an effort to get second. Winners: Dante, Balthier Tidus Pikachu Leon Vivi Leon’s got it in the bag I believe, but it’s almost sort of anyone’s game for second place. Sure Vivi will probably get SFF’d pretty well, but we’ve seen Kirby/Tidus and such. Can Pikachu pull a Kirby? Ok more than likely not, but hey, it’s worth noting. Winners: Leon, Tidus Dante Balthier Leon Tidus Tidus will make Balthier look like crap, and Dante and Leon will have an epic battle. My gut instinct tells me Leon can beat Dante with how successful Resident Evil 4 has been and the numbers he’s been putting up so far. I've never thought much of Nightmare, but just being a "badass" kind
of character doesn't mean you automatically get shafted against Snake. If that's your main strength, then yes, it kinda does. Snake don't play dat game. Regardless, I'm still wondering... why Nightmare? Is he even the face of his series? What about that leather clad, white haired woman with the gigantic breasts?
