You have to pick the right order to get two points. If you have it in
the wrong order but the correct duo, you get one point. (Only in the
first round, double it for every subsequent round) --- Day by day, things are all messed up. All I need is cakes and ale and everlasting laugh. |

Wow, I don't even know where to begin to comment. I'm still trying to figure out my for fun
bracket. One big question that seems to keep popping up is how much
does SFF affect some of these matches? There are a bunch of matches
with 2 relatively strong Nintendo characters. Would there be SFF, or
would they both hog the votes and share them among themselves? How much
of a hardcore fanbase do some of these midcarders have? Really
interesting stuff here... --- Currently playing: Guitar Hero 2, Gears of War, Saint's Row, SotN (XBLA), Burnout Revenge |

I did my first runthrough - some initial thoughts: - Coolest thing in the whole bracket is that both Edgeworth and Phoenix have a decent shot at round 2 (and Edgeworth more so, even better). - Lots of unpredictability in the first round because of well-placed newcomers. - Lots of unpredictability in the later rounds because of SFF. - The strangest, uh, 8 pack is the upper half of division 3 - Sephiroth, CATS, and six Nintendo minors. Yikes. - Master Chief, Bowser, and Ganondorf are the luckiest characters in the bracket. - Squall/Aerith/Sora is really weird. - Marth gets screwed, but Ike's got a shot! - Who is Haseo? Pretty fun bracket. |

You know, Riku could make the finals of Snake's division. The Snake, Kirby, Riku, Kratos fourpack at the end is nuts. Snake ate Sora for breakfast, and I imagine he's got the edge on Kratos, too. Kirby comes out of that one. --- "Men who are diametrically opposed to me die. The explanation is quite simple, these men are mad, and it is the mad who die." ~ Metternich |

Throw out a few comments after having looked over the bracket a couple of times. -- Lots of unpredictable matches. Outside of a few obvious choices like Vincent/Zelda, there's a lot of different ways each of these matches could end up. -- The Noble Nine being in the bracket isn't as bad as I was thinking, particularly due to the format. -- SFF actually seems like it could be fun to see in this type of format. Ganon/Luigi makes me scratch my head. -- Master Chief is going to have a field day this contest. Overall, it's a pretty damn awesome -- and brutal -- bracket. Love it. --- Believe |
BeTheMan | Posted 8/14/2007 5:03:03 PM | message detail |
Wow...this bracket rocks. A few thoughts: * I agree with what a couple of people said about Master Chief: he's one of the most dangerous characters in the bracket under this format. * The Noble Nine has a very good chance of getting broken - I'm looking at the possible Link/Crono/Vincent/??? fourpack as the one that does it in...and if Vincent survives, I'm curious to see how well he holds up against Sephiroth. * Tifa got fewer nominations than Midgar Zolom? HA! * What's the opening line on Link for his opening four-pack? I'm tempted to say that anything lower than 80% would be a disappointment. |

Hmm, my biggest problem in predicting is wodnering whether people still only have one vote. If it's only one, I gotta weed out all the SFF and guess the two biggest fanbase characters without overlaps. If people get, say, two votes in a match... Cloud vs. Zolom, book it. |

I don't know what to think about that group with
Edgeworth. I initially automatically went with the Pokemon, but thought
about it. Not only would Link SFF the hell out of Bidoof, but also how
known is
Bidoof as a Pokemon? Looking at a picture of Edgeworth and Bidoof, I'd
be more inclined to vote for Edgeworth if I didn't know either. Just
all depends on how well known Bidoof is. D/P is pretty damn popular
though... So he might have it. --- Currently playing: Guitar Hero 2, Gears of War, Saint's Row, SotN (XBLA), Burnout Revenge |
