Why do we need two open "Contest Stats and Discussion" topics right now? The other one would be just fine until it reached 500. In a perfect world it would, and once it hit 500 whoever is around could make another topic. Unfortunately people (apparently!) actually care who makes the next topic, so if a topic somehow hit 500 while all of the acceptable people are away (which isn't likely, given that most of the last posts are made by said acceptable people), someone else would make the topic and GameFAQs itself would explode from all the confusion of having an unrecognized person making a topic. Of course, chances are good no one even remembers who made the topic 20 times ago or 21 times ago, but that's not the point you see! :) --- Hello world |

I think that the main issue is that a bunch of people make stats topics
at once, not that an unacceptable person makes one. >_< --- Rapid analysis, accurate judgment, and superb powers of concentration. That is all we need. |

The main problem are trolls and people who think it's OMG AWESOME to make a stats topic flooding the board with them (see the first 447, which was made when 446 was at less than 10 posts just because the guy thought it would be funny). Making them early and being elitist about it eliminates this problem. Kratos/Riku? Could Kratos get 45% on Yoshi after nearly 43% on Ryu last
year? I suppose it depends on how closely Ryu and Yoshi are. I know
everyone's big on Kratos getting a humongous boost this year (and I can
certainly understand where they're coming from), but that seems like a
pretty big leap to me...Maybe I'm just trying to be
skeptical/conservative to avoid overrating him, but I just don't like
the idea of Kratos defeating the likes of Luigi, Magus, Knuckles, or
Zero so soon. Also, I just don't like the idea of Kratos beating Ryu
now, and I think Riku isn't TOO far from that...I'd take Yoshi over

The only thing I'm arguing about is all of this anti-Squall nonsense that has been allowed lately! Psh, Squall overperforming because of Old Snake? What nonsense. With all of the MGS4 hype the last two years, you think people don't know that look by now? Also, please move the Alucard/Midna/Tidus/Balthier four-pack out of Cloud's division. I would hate to see all of that go to waste by Tidus/Balthier making it through only to get SFF'd by Cloud. I mean, I know it's only speculation and isn't indicative of the real bracket, but nonetheless. I honestly think that Cloud would get 85%+ on Tidus if they ever met head-to-head. It would be THAT bad.
