Yoshi/Sora could be a Shadow/Mario scenario, though. If you're not
going to vote for Riku against Yoshi, are you really going to vote for
Sora against him? That's weak/flawed, but, the other thing is that
Yoshi still beat him 55/44. It's certainly not a beatdown, but, by the
same token, it's also not something likely to change, especially
considering that a KH2 boost will have died by now and that Yoshi of
the three has the only reasons to go up some. (Brawl, general Nintendo
increase, DS, Yoshi's Island Ds). I bet Yoshi could squeeze through in

| Well, Sora has been stronger than Riku in contests
(although Riku has also been screwed by the seeding). I'm not saying
that Sora would beat Yoshi easily, and I would be slightly worried
about that pick. For what it's worth, a new KH title will be announced at TGS (September 20th - 24th), which might help Sora a bit. --- hellow the idit center called they want there retaird back |

Yoshi/Sora could be a Shadow/Mario scenario, though. If you're not
going to vote for Riku against Yoshi, are you really going to vote for
Sora against him? Uh yeah? Sora and Riku aren't joined at the hip (at least as far as popularity goes! <_<;) The same theory has been brought up constantly. Mario/Luigi. Ken/Ryu. Sora has plenty reason for someone to like him and not Riku. Hell, it's not like Riku had a strong presence in KH2. No time reply back with full commentary like I usually like to do, so
I'll just say that that is seriously the best Link/Cloud bracket I have
ever seen. I wasn't feeling entirely hyped for another Character battle
a minute ago, but after seeing all those possibilities, you can
consider me fully committed. Kudos to you tranny, you've just earned my

I'm willing to bet that KH2 won Sora a lot of fans who wouldn't necessarily vote for Riku in the same fashion. Yeah, probably, I felt it was still worth mentioning, though. and do you really think the KH boost dies over a year? Well, do you really think it will still be as strong? The immediate months after a new game comes out must be the best time for its characters to shine. With Nintendo consistently on the rise, ds popularity, and Yoshi's Island, I'd say he at least gets the intangibles in the match. When I made a division afew months ago, Diablo > DK wasn't too
uncommon of a pick. Most people would take DK > Fox too, so...not
surprised. I wouldn't take that upset, but it's not surprising and it

Why would Fox be as strong as DK? DKC is easily the most popular game
between the two characters, and even DK64 is bigger than any of Fox's
games. And when they were both in contests together, DK did look
better. Fox's performance against Pikachu looked pretty uninspired,
while DK almost took out Vercetti. And DK 2K3 crushes Fox 2K2 in the stats. --- Rapid analysis, accurate judgment, and superb powers of concentration. That is all we need. |

well, Fox's problem is that he faced Cloud in 2002 (Mario/Cloud) and
Link in 2003 (obvious). DK isn't very accurate either, given that he's
behind Master Chief in 2005 and was nowhere to be found in 2006. so basically, you can throw stats out and just take a guess. I'd probably pick Fox just due to SSB favouritism, but DK could very easily win. I'd expect a big DK win before I would a big Fox win. --- xexyz |

SF 64 is way more popular than any none DKC game...it might even be a
better seller than DKC 3...plus DK only stars in the first DKC and

DKC >= SF64 > the rest of their series' games Even then, I might take SF64 > DKC -- it did make it to the Virtual Console, afterall. No idea how well it sold, but SF64 was a big seller for the N64 in a time of need, it inspired the Rumble Paks, and it stomped the hell out of DK64 as far as favoritism goes from what I've seen. Fox is also more favored in the SSB series than DK... ...I wouldn't want to see a Fox/DK match. Well, yeah, SF64 would beat most DK games here, but I could see it
losing to either of the first two DKCs. And all of Fox's other games
would be very unimpressive, unlike DK's support, which is actually

We don't really HAVE a read on Fox. Well, assuming that Cloud 2k2 is as strong as Link 2k3, Fox is as strong as DK. If Cloud 2k2 is at all weaker than Link 2k3, DK beats Fox. I don't think Cloud 2k2 would stand much of a chance against Link 2k3, personally. And to go for the triple post, I don't think we should be looking at individual games
to determine who is more popular. Both characters have become Nintendo
staples and their popularity stems from being a general video game name
by now. I think how much each character is liked as a character comes into play more when dealing with who is stronger... especially in a direct matchup. I mean if you want to put it that way, look at Samus. It's not like Metroid and Super Metroid were mega-hits, yet she came into the contest as a beast, with only Metroid, Metroid 2, Super Metroid, and SSB under her belt.
