Which was my point. Guys like Frog, Knux or Magus are people that have
always been interesting to watch, yet all 3 were snubbed last year
(partly due to the lol female half). I'd rather throw my nominations
behind these guys than waste them on people who are guarenteed entrance

I nominated Magus because he's my favorite between Frog/Magus(I love em
both though and would LOVE to see a match between the two just to see
where the SFF would fall. You can make the obvious Villain/Hero case I
suppose, but still.), and I'm pretty sure Smurf and the rest of the
Sonic goons will make sure Knux will get in. Frog does still need some

Not having nominations go on the front page would be horrendous. A

I dunno about THAT close, but he got ~39% on Crono in 2k5...Solid Snake
in 2k4 was weaker, and his sprite-matches haven't ever done him any
favors. Anti-votes, sure, but they've not prevented him from impressing before; whether it's against a newcomer like Frog or a Noble Niner like Crono, it's not like his anti-votes have cost him all that much. They cost him MC/Frog and probably MC/Sub-Zero...that's it. In 2k4, with the Halo 2 hype rising and against the weakest we'd ever seen Snake on his worst day? I won't say for sure MC would have matched Frog, but he wouldn't have been far off. --- PETITION: a "Contest Suggestions" board. As for vote totals looking at some of the totals in regular potd
questions, I'm thinking that they will be as high if not higher than

I'm sure frog was also benefiting from the being the underdog who just
kept on going too, I really doubt MC does as well as Frog does against

I nominated Knuckles because he is both my favorite and the strongest
of the three...but he hasn't had that many exciting matches outside of

Magus/Frog is just an easy match to call, plain and simple. Magus
simply has everything going for him as far as the SFF goes there. Sure there are people that insist that Frog can beat him. There are still people out there still insisting Tidus can beat Auron, too. (am I comparing Frog's lameness to Tidus'? yes) "Excitement" is based upon bracket placement and a bit of luck, that's all it is. Frog's had the good fortune to be placed in a lot of close ones, give him unlucky draws and he's just another midcarder. Liquid's just as good a choice to nominate as Frog - and unlike the green one, I'd wager him being stronger then when we last saw him if he reappeared. But you could easily say the same thing about Shadow (and despite my detesting of him... the hedgehog would be strong as HELL at this point - you want some new stronger blood for interesting matches, nom him). --- "TIME TO _____ THEN." - Karma Hunter, ABSENT 8 Commit it to memory. |

I won't say for sure MC would have matched Frog, but he wouldn't have been far off. You are wrong. MC impresses because he has an immovable contingency of people who will vote for him over anyone, and then a huge contingency of people that will vote anyone over him. His performances relative to his "true" strength (the one that matters in any close match) are what do that. If you can't see how that would have prevented him from going 50/50 with Solid Snake, no matter what the day, time, or place - well, there's not much more I can do but repeat the obvious - you're wrong. --- "TIME TO _____ THEN." - Karma Hunter, ABSENT 8 Commit it to memory. |

MC has gotten 39% on Crono, Solid Snake was noticeably weaker than
Crono in 2k4 (even his 2k5 self was below Crono 2k5), and Solid is
notorious for underperforming with sprites. MC has also proven he can
get large percentages of the vote despite anti-votes...even if it was

I'll also note, before anybody else does, that Lara Croft has gotten
about 80% before. I'll then remind everybody that Lara isn't so much
hated as apathetic, and that Crash or CATS could smash the ever-loving

I seriously doubt that Master Chief is getting 47% on Solid Snake in any
year. Definitely not in 2k4 no matter how crappy Snake looked. Xbox
hate was still pretty damn strong on this site back then. No way Master
Chief does what Frog did, who probably had a huge bandwagon behind him

I wouldn't say Crono dropping is entirely conclusive, let alone CT as a
whole dropping. Or, CT might recover this year. It does seem like CT

I wouldn't be surprised if CT-related characters have -- or do -- drop.
I think they reached their peak in the contest setting a few years
back. It'd take a cameo in a popular Square game or an entirely new

no offense, but of every possible character you could rally behind, Pikachu is the last
one you should try to bring back. he's already failed twice, once being
more than doubled by Fox (who hasn't even been back since). it's not like he didn't get a fair shake. it's not like he's going to improve by a substantial amount due to a new release or something. he's Pikachu. --- xexyz |

Who would win in this 4 pack of evenly matched characters? Crono Mario Mega Man Shadow IMO Crono 48% Mario 52% Mega Man 12% Shadow 88% then like 50/50 split between mario and shadow becuase shadow has gained since the last time and nobody likes the wii and the BHF (black hedgehog factor) will swing it for him.
