People are nominating Toad? Awesome, I will too. Toad is a million times better than Wario. Here's what I have so far: Wario - Mario CATS - Zero Wing Gordon Freeman - Half Life Phoenix Wright - Phoenix Wright: Ace Attourney Ecco the Dolphin - Ecco the Dolphin Commander Keen - Commander Keen Toad - Super Mario Bros. I'm open to suggestions. Aeris almost definitely gets one of my spots, and I may nominate Crono and Mega Man to help their seeding, especially with 15 nominations. Fox would easily win a match. DK nearly beat Master Chief, and Marcus is going to be far weaker than Master Chief. Though that's not to say Fox will be as strong as DK...and look at what Vivi did to DK. Vivi's the likeliest winner there. --- Rapid analysis, accurate judgment, and superb powers of concentration. That is all we need. |

I'd probably take Fox to upset and win that division. Since 2k3, he's
had two console games and a handheld release, SSBM's popularity has
snowballed, he'd been announced and seen alot on the SSBB site for
awhile now, SF64 hit the Virtual Console (did the original, too?), and
Nintendo's stock has risen immensely... ...no knock on Vivi's strength, but I don't think he'll be as strong as 2k5 says anymore now that neither Square nor Sony are doing so hot, plus the PS1-ownership has gone down here since the new systems have launched. Backwards compatibility, I know, but it still doesn't bode well for the mage. Also, 2k5 suggests DK never should have lost to Vivi like he did in 2k4. I'd barely take DK > Fox and I'd figure this could be DK's best year yet. Of course, Vivi and Fox both are practically the only two candidates to win it. Maybe worth a couple of points tops FACT or FICTION: MC will be the most unpredictable character this year, assuming the contest ends by 11/1/07. Reason to increase, of course, isn't "Wii was released; Nintendo fans go wild." FACT or FICTION: Every Nintendo character that makes the bracket is either in or is announced to soon be in the SSB series. -- All of Nintendo's notable characters seem to be there. FACT or FICTION: Alucard will be back to his previous glory since C:SotN is on Xbox Live Arcade. -- I think he'll get a nice boost, but I'm not sure about "returning to glory." FACT or FICTION: MC will be the most unpredictable character this year, assuming the contest ends by 11/1/07. FACT or FICTION: If Mega Man or Crono are roughly tested, we will see the Noble Nine fall this year. -- There are only a couple of scenarios I see where that things might get interesting: Mega Man vs. Vincent/Ganondorf and Crono vs. Ganondorf. FACT or FICTION: Alucard will be back to his previous glory since C:SotN is on Xbox Live Arcade. Push. He'll probably get enough to keep from falling, and he has been exposed to an entirely new audience. I don't know if he'll be as strong as in 2k2 or 2k3 though. FACT or FICTION: MC will be the most unpredictable character this year, assuming the contest ends by 11/1/07. Fact. Nobody else could ever be that unpredictable. FACT or FICTION: If Mega Man or Crono are roughly tested, we will see the Noble Nine fall this year. I'll have to go with fiction. The only characters I can see testing those two are Ganondorf, Vincent, and possibly Bowser. We could have our first real scare since Bowser vs. Solid **** though. --- That... was her final mission. Oh, right, throw in Zelda into possible Noble Nine breakers as well. I

And something that's surprising me is the lack of discussion on
Balthier. I think he has a good chance of shaking up the high-mid-card
