After this poll, I might have to. FZGX had terrible sales despite
being by far the greatest racing game of all time, and it's the
original that got onto the top 100 list. That doesn't bode well for it
in present day. Well not really... it's not like it's that far behind the other series, and guess who the majority of Mario Kart votes are most likely to go to. Eh, Mario Kart is universal. Yeah, F-Zero would benefit the most from MK leaving the poll and I'd
still take it against any of the other series in the poll...but man,
for F-Zero to even be comparable to these fools is bad. It also doesn't
help that GT3 and GT both ranked ahead of F-Zero in the Top 100 List
(#72/#92 to #99, respectively)...though F-Zero had many other Nintendo
games to compete with, one of which being Super Mario Kart, and the
original F-Zero probably isn't the best rep for the series... ...I dunno, an F-Zero/Gran Turismo series-match wouldn't be too bad actually. F-Zero would almost certainly be the favorite, but it would probably be a close match. Need for Speed would be a good opponent for it too..... I think you guys are inflating F-Zero just because it's Nintendo. The
games just aren't that popular. Take out Mario Kart and I still don't

i dont thinks its automatic, but if i have to pick and favor one, it's

I wouldn't be surprised to see F-Zero lose to GT or NoS head-to-head
(anymore), but I don't think it would get third or worse in today's

...yeah, no way SF/RE was supposed to be that close in the Series
Contest now. RE did nearly as well against FF as MM did after barely
beating SF, and now RE is hanging side-by-side with MM in today's poll
while SF is getting its **** smoked in third place? It's not like MM is
SFF'ing SF either -- SF has done better than this in Capcom polls
before and Ryu impressed against Mega Man last year, so you can't put
any blame there. It's also not because RE has a really small
concentrated fanbase either -- it's put up huge numbers before and its

It's a big sign that GameFAQs is changing from what we're used to. This
could possibly be as fun to watch as Sonic/Cloud in the SSBB-poll, but
much more important to the way of things around here. Also, correct me if I'm wrong...but aren't RE, MM, and SF supposed to be horrible with the day-vote? I wouldn't imagine any of the others are any good with it except maybe DMC either...but we might see DMC make up some big ground against SF by the end of this if that's right. --- PETITION: a "Contest Suggestions" board. Yikes! People might be upset with them for continuing to port/rehash
RE4 every time they get the chance, but after the Top 100, Series

RE > MM is looking like a sexy upset pick. Even if it's not possible now, I'm sure it will be true in a year or two if RE5 is as big as RE4 was. *slides into topic on forehead* You couldn't expect RE to take this poll and not hear from me, could you? >_> While one-on-one this match may be a LOT closer, with the edge still going to Mega Man, Resident Evil has Umbrella Chronicles coming out this year and RE5 coming out next year. With the explosive success of RE4, if that carries over to either or both of those new releases, I'd say RE takes the one-on-one with Mega Man next year by a decent margin. I see Mega Man being the more known series, but Resident Evil is the

It's not like MM is SFF'ing SF either -- SF has done better than this in Capcom polls before Ehhhhh... I'll just say not necessarily for that. Even if SF can hold up reasonably against MM in direct matches doesn't mean there isn't SFF between Mega Man and Street Fighter (even if SF isn't getting lopsidedly taken down, it doesn't mean that they aren't sharing votes). And the other Capcom games in this poll sooner go to Mega Man/SF than RE. I'm not saying SF vs RE isn't lookin' a bit fishy, but I don't think the match would be nearly as off as this poll indicates. And no way am I taking RE over MM. ... not that there's gonna be another series contest anytime soon! --- Lopen is bye bye. Now is ninja time. |
