Let's face it guys. The Noble Nine is not gonna job. I was hoping it would several times the past two or three contests, but it never happened and it probably never will >_> --- Masa/Hiko/HeroicTronBonne/Cory/Buddha |

While the noble 9 might not be jobbing anytime soon, will FF VII and
its characters be perpetual powerhouses? Aeris and Seph looked like
they were feeling the burn last year, and I can't help but wonder how
Vincent and Tifa are gonna do now that DoC/AC have been largely
forgotten... --- Rufus Shinra had Darknation eat me for lunch in the Guru contest. |

And uh, Leon, are we going to have a nomination tournament for games, like, ever? 1. Tell me when we're having a Games Contest 2. Tell me why we need one. If CJayC removes the lousy stipulations from the first contest, we're going to see plenty of new games. --- "I'm only here to see how the story plays out. What were the stipulations from the first contest? But uh, there might be certain games that we think may get snubbed that would do well in the tourney, or we could try to find Jay Solano in game form, or blah. =/ And it just feels like a Game Contest is coming. Stop making fun of me. D: ~~~ Ashe. The Cream of Final Fantasy Fanboyism. http://www.board8wiki.com/Lady_Ashe |

You could only nominate one game per system (which is the main reason
why Halo got a 1 seed), and no two games from the same series could be
in the same division, which is why you didn't see Final Fantasy VIII
(FFVII and FFT were considered different series, apparently). Oh, and
if you get rid of divisions by generation, new games will increase as
well. --- "I'm only here to see how the story plays out. Any self-respecting leading man would do the same." - Balthier *waits for Games Contest announcement* |

I'm curious...given Mega Man's Nintendo connection (and the
additional Capcom connection >_>) shouldn't he have overperformed
on Ryu by at least as much as Bowser did? You'd think Mega would have stomped Zero to the ground in 2k4, but it ended up being a surprisingly close match. Mega Man seems to have his own wonky type of SFF, where he has no trouble beating down a green dinosaur he's only loosely connected to, but can't SFF his own sidekick. Zero was designed to be a cooler X, so of course it's going to be
easier for him to resist SFF from Mega Man. It's the same reason I
suspect Sonic wouldn't get SFF'd hardcore by Mario and why Shadow was
able to do so well. Sonic was always pushed as a cooler Mario. --- "I'm only here to see how the story plays out. Any self-respecting leading man would do the same." - Balthier *waits for Games Contest announcement* |

er, whoops I dunno, I think of 2004 as the "proper" result - in 2003 Cloud beats Link so the Link fans get mad and vote for Sephiroth. in 2005 Link beats Cloud so the Cloud fans get mad and vote for Sephiroth. 2004 is the only one that didn't have Cloud/Link prior and the result is a bit different. *shrug* --- xyzzy *waits patiently for CJayC to announce a Game Contest* |

Well, I'd consider the SC2K5 proportion to be correct (Mario/Sephiroth
predicted Link/Sephiroth almost perfectly), and that if there WAS any
existing revenge votes... Sephiroth's doing better than SC2K5
expectations by about .5% in SC2K3 could be attributed to that. =P And, Sephiroth did worse in SC2K4 because he was weaker than year, in my opinion. --- "Ah, a party! We haven't had one of those. It could be fun! So...what is a party?" "Well, you drink punch and eat CAKE! ...I think." |

are we now trying to realize put Sephiroth's strength in numbers, I
thought we agreed a long time ago (like in 2004) that Seph hates
numbers. Link and Cloud will always be the only ones who can beat him
in a 1VS1 poll, and Seph needs something really big to win over Cloud
(like being the main villain in a new FF game where you can't find
Cloud anywhere) --- Ngamer64: Zylo, you're making less sense every day. |
