Repost: With a quote contest, CJayC would have to try hard in order to make the bracket EASY, methinks, due to the extent of the intangible part of the predictibility. That part is good. The big problem is that there isn't nearly as much attachment to quotes as there is to games or characters, so massive interesting will immediately be lost. Not to mention the discussion... there'd be hardly anything to discuss. I'd hate to think of all the idiotic topics and messages as a result, too... "This guy are sick > j00", etc. I dunno... it feels like a waste the more I think about it, but it would be a nice novelty regardless... If I could decide things, though, I would run the quote contest at the same time as another Best. Game. Ever contest, which would mean two polls per day. The quote contest polls would be underneath the Best. Game. Ever. poll as a secondary poll, like we've seen a few times before... and pictures wouldn't even be needed. In fact, I think that's quite a good idea. --- "Ah, a party! We haven't had one of those. It could be fun! So...what is a party?" "Well, you drink punch and eat CAKE! ...I think." |

Let's Brawl's new announcement come out first, and I guarantee it
doesn't. Before then...eh, it may give it a run, but it's still hard
for me to imagine it getting THAT close. That's no knock on SC2's

SC's fanbase is far more concentrated and isn't going to be drawn away by other things. it's kinda like Halo in that regard. if you did one of those, I think it'd place third behind Brawl and Halo 3. --- xyzzy |

SC would have a nice time fitting between Halo 3 and FF13, ha..... I think it could get about 20% in a poll with SSBB, give or take. | Certainly not, you'll get no debate from me on
that matter -- outside of huge games ported to the PC like GTA:SA
(which is still debatable), SC is the likely the biggest PC-based game
here...I imagine only Diablo 2 comes close. Blizzard's got the support
of the PC-crowd, and SC is its pride and joy. Just saying, it's still a PC game with Halo 3 and SSBB on the horizon while MGS4 and FF13 are official as well. Not that it can't compete or outdo any of those, it's just that being PC-only is a bit of a handi-cap. If any game can overcome that though, it's Starcraft...or, ya know, maybe Starcraft 2. --- Damn, most of my dates involve mocking and/or beating up people like you and your bride-to-be, so I really have no advice --Horatio |

I also just got to thinking...is it just me, or would a 16/32-bracket
of just PC games be hectic? A SC/D2 match would be highly anticipated
for a final (and imagine the rallying), we never got a real fair look
for HL1 and HL2 could be bigger, WoW and WC3 would get people scared,
then there would be some solid midcarders (given the context of the
bracket) like the Quake and Doom series, Counterstrike, and
