Well, we don't know how much of that Snake boost we can necessarily
attribute to MGS though. But maybe that's a bad example. Well, I
suppose you can look at FFX then. I'd take FFX to beat MGS, but
wouldn't take any of its characters to beat Snake. Still, I'd like to see what MGS is capable of in a Games Contest now. Perhaps it's a new beast this time around. You know, I'm wary of FFT's strength. I mean sure it beat down Dance
Dance Revolution and went toe-to-toe with Metal Gear Solid, but I'm
wondering how much of it was due to having the Final Fantasy name... I
mean, it's a critically acclaimed game (and so deserving), but I really
don't think it has the overall popularity of the mainstream FF games...

I think the FF name helps vs. just about everything though, so it's not
like that's going to go away. I still think FF did so well on Mario 3
because of the FF name -- if you can hold up like that against friggin'

Yeah, and the fact that close to a majority of this site (or more, I forget) hasn't even finished
Zelda 1 and it did even better has me behind that as well. Sure, FFT
might falter against the other core titles, but it'd really only have
to worry about losing a match it should have won against something like
FFIX or FFXII... and I can't see it losing either, no matter what. --- *kills self* Commit it to memory. |

FF1? Hard? Bwahahaha! Good stuff, man, good stuff. As for MGS/FFVIII, I'd be inclined to take MGS there, but certainly not because of Snake's recent strength. I attribute that almost exclusively toward SSBB. But yeah, FFVIII would hang in there, but I think MGS pulls it out. --- Transcending Time. Eternal Life. |

I found the original LoZ so much harder than FF. The fact that the Blue
Wizzrobes can shoot the crescent moons at RANDOM times, taking off 6
hearts, as it pursue you... I just... hate that. Heck, I find Dungeon 6
to be comparable to trying to beat the last level of Ninja Gaiden, and
harder than any level in Battle Toads or Ghosts 'n Goblins... I guess

Blue Ring, sucka! Zelda 1 isn't that hard to me, but I know it pretty

I FINALLY handled Battletoads 10 years after the fact. But when I
played it during the NES days, it used to kick my ass. I would get all
the way to the sewer level on my best day (using warps of course), but

I... really can't see any way IX or XII beat T. They definitely lose on
the hardcore level, they've both been relatively unimpressive in the
multi-FF polls, the only character from IX that's stronger than Ramza
is due to the BMF (though I will give that Balthier and perhaps one or
two others from his game likely outdo Ramza pretty easily)... but then
again, seeing how FFT isn't exactly the biggest FF game in terms of
character strength (even compared to XII), that's not filling me with

Err... how did you come up with this bracket? 'CAUSE I'M RATING IT << 1)Link vs. 8)Kratos Aurion Er, I'd rather see some "fun" fodder that we haven't seen before fed to the one seeds. People like Kratos A. don't quite qualify. 4)Balthier vs. 5)Ness Ooh, semi-interesting match. Gotta go with Balthier though. 3)Auron vs. 6)Pac-Man Pac is wasted, but at least we get a read on him. 2)Squall Leonhart vs. 7)Mewtwo Mewtwo is uber wasted. 1)Sephiroth vs. 8)Kid Icarus Yay fun fodder... if this was before the SSBB trailer. Move Vincent down into Kratos' spot. After his poor showing last year,
Mega Man needs to pay the price by running the gauntlet of near-NNers,
Vince to Ganon and/or Zelda. And I agree on Tifa, she's a great
wildcard but post-TP we've got to move her someplace where she can do

KH, I couldn't avoid wasting a lot of guys... I chose to have some
decent characters rather than low fodder around. You made me realize
that I wasted pretty much all the NRT winners, though, and I could do
some better matches, anyway. I figure I could split Phoenix/Frank West
up to be fed to the NNers and make a better match-up... and I'll adjust
some other things, too. I originally did have Vincent in Kratos' spot, but then it seemed too stacked...but, hey, if you guys like that, I might as well... Also, I moved Kefka and Seifer around, and put them together. The winner then faces Sephiroth (that was set up by accident...but I decided it to leave it). Well, if Tifa shouldn't face Zelda... I guess that leaves Squall or Auron. I figure I'll replace Tifa with Squall rather than with Auron, as to avoid a Ganondorf vs. Auron rematch. So, that allows Tifa vs. Auron, Squall vs. Zelda, and Squall/Zelda vs. Ganondorf. *hears a distant Squall for the division title!* It's Pit, not Kid Icarus... right. --- "Ah, a party! FFX Auron > FFVIII Squall, obviously, which means it's down to the difference in the KH series. Squall's got KH1 and KH2 and will probably get the SFF there, but Auron stole the show in KH2. Eh, gimme the safe pick -- Squall. 1)Sephiroth vs. 4)Phoenix Wright Meh, I said all that needs to be said here 3)Vaan vs. 2)Dante Basically just insert what I said for Balthier 1)Mario vs. 4)Vivi Orunitia Gotta feed someone to Mario in a Clinkeroth bracket I guess, but yeah 6)Tidus vs. 2)Master Chief Yeah, siding with Tidus and Chief... and OMG Tidus can win two matches!? Eh... gimme Chief here though. 1)Sonic the Hedgehog vs. 4)Yoshi Yay Yoshi blowout where we get to see him do marginally better than Luigi again 3)Bowser vs. 2)Sora Good, good match. He stops at the Kirbster though... I think. 1)Samus Aran vs. 3)Vincent Valentine Vincent deserves a better Noble to take on than Samus, especially after how he came close to Sonic. Then again, on the off-chance Samus gets ZSS'd he should score the upset... 3)Midna vs. 2)Crono Yeah, Crono. 1)Mega Man vs. 4)Kratos (God of War) Kratos is a rising star and Mega looks vulnerable, but Nobility does not fall to a two-game upstart. 3)Zelda vs. 2)Ganondorf I've flip-flopped on this match more times than I've cared to recall... ...give me Ganondorf, actually. I hope Crono is able to give Samus a good match. 1)Mega Man vs. 8)Ryu Hayabusa 4)Kratos (God of War) vs. 5)Seifer Almasy 3)Zelda vs. 6)Tifa Lockheart 2)Ganondorf vs. 7)Amaterasu Man talk about stacked you really want to see Mega Man lose. I'm choosing Zelda > Ganondorf because the title of the game is called The Legend of Zelda. Final Words: New characters seem to be on the low side with only 13. Pssh, Samus got about 38% on the one year Link lost, there's no chance
in hell that Squall gets 35% on a post-TP Link. He'd be doing
