I took Vincent over Ganon, and I stand firm with Ganon > Squall next year. Even if LoZ:TP failed to match the hype, it's a shoe-in for both the Wii and GC GotY's everywhere (and will win some overall GotY's as well) and it's a launch game. I also hear it's a great showing for Ganon (I think HM said it's his best yet, heh), and we have a good idea of where both Squall and Ganon are now as opposed to how we didn't know where Squall, Vincent, or Ganon were gonna be earlier this year. People expected it to be the best game of all time. Of course it's
gonna be disappointing. No game can live up to that high of

I should also add that I ignored polls of the form "Got (Game)?" where
one of the answers was "No, I don't have (system).", or other polls
where answers indicated ownership/non-ownership of a system. I also
ignored polls of the form "Which systems do you think you'll own/plan
to buy/etc.?". Some interesting data can be gleaned by comparing the
post-Christmas polls (What did you get for Christmas?) with the total
ownership pre- and post-Christmas. --- If life gives you lemons, make lemonade. Then try to find someone whose life has given them vodka. |

I'm guessing a FOUR PERCENT boost for Ganon and Zelda. Link will
probably only get a 1 or 2% boost, but he's pretty much already hit the
glass ceiling. Now, let's think of what Midna would get on base Link.... I'd say she'd get 12%, SFF'd all to hell. Now, against Cloud, I'd say.... 27%. Shocker, I know. --- He wields the blade of a fallen hero, but now he is the hero, and it is the others who fall. He is rising. |

Link will probably only get a 1 or 2% boost, but he's pretty much already hit the glass ceiling. Well, considering he just put the biggest beating on Cloud yet, I don't think Link's hit any sort of ceiling. Also, HM, do we have any numbers on the sales of LoZ:TP for either the Wii or the GC yet? The last numbers that came out were a couple of weeks ago, but it put Twilight Princess at about 1 million to the Wii's 1.5 million. GANON got 12% against Link. If Midna got 12% against Link...well, it just ain't happening. I still say that Ganon would get more than 12% on Link if they had a rematch. People were still going crazy over the TP trailer and the fact that the very match picture against Ganon used the last image of Link sheathing his sword at the end of the TP trailer. That picture basically represented the trailer. There also was the fact that Link was coming off of his loss to Cloud and his fans following the contest were still smarting. I bet there was a concentrated effort by some to reestablish Link's dominance. Combine that with the sheer magnitude of the trailer... Yeah, Ganon definitely bottomed out to me. No way Link stomps him down to 12% again. As for Midna? I'd take her to get 12% against Link too. Unlike with Ganondorf, Link has already reestablished his dominance on GameFAQs. A lot of people seem to like Midna, so I could see fans of her giving her the pity vote in that instance. It may not be much more, but I wouldn't automatically say she COULDN'T get 12% because Ganondorf didn't. Squall has no chance against Bowser! Bowser almost freaking beat Snake!
There's no way Ganondorf could be stronger than Bowser! Nothing
suggests Ganondorf being that strong! He only got 40% on Samus who was
owned by Mario! He only got 54% on Auron who's never proven his
strength! His outdoing Bowser on Sephiroth was totally inaccurate,
'cause we all know Ganondorf overperformed by a greater extent due to
Ganon/Sephy being the final! We all know Kirby can't possibly lose to
Luigi, since Kirby > Yoshi on Bowser, and Yoshi beat Luigi! Luigi
can't beat Zero! Luigi was beaten by Tifa who couldn't even score as
well on Sonic as Zero! --- "Ah, a party! We haven't had one of those. It could be fun! So...what is a party?" "It means Rufus Shinra 18 0wned us! ...I think." |

Ah...well that would explain Sonic then. FF13 is simply making the PS3
look better than it should though (which, unfortunately, means less

I'm equally hyped for SSB/Galaxy as MGS4/RE5, but the fact that a PS3
is 600 bucks tipped the scales in favor of Nintendo for me, because I

Because other than Halo 3 the Xbox360 doesn't have too many more hyped games. 2007 will be a big year for gaming. By this time next year we should have the clear winner of the console race. --- Proud member of Board 8. |

Sonic and the Secret Rings is very different from Sonic Next Gen. However, the poll still has problems. VF5 and RE5 are both coming out for X360, and FFXIII is likely not coming out next year. It's biased against the PS3, too, and Halo 3 did manage to barely outdo
FF13 not long ago. I know that's not worth alot, that poll...but it's
