Whoa, I seemed to have missed a lot these past few days. Sorry, I'm
still browsing through the stats topics but some surprises to me were
Mega Man not dropping and Samus STILL beating Snake. (Did SAMUS SFF
SNAKE's SSBB votes?) Also, XD @ Master Chief as ultimate loser! Out of all the probable ultimate losers (Alyx Vance, Phoenix Wright, Ryu Hayabusa, Prince of Persia, Master Chief), this one has to be the funniest and most unexpected one. --- Gaddswell |

This from HM: TP's art direction is fantastic and TP Link is easily the best incarnation of Link we've ever had. No, the Spaceworld 2000 Link still reigns supreme as far as design goes, at least in my mind. |

There are several priceless snippets in those stats, more of which I would comment on, were it not for an art history paper. Jill above Kirby, Yoshi above Ganondorf and Bower, and Peach above Luigi are some of my favorites. --- Revenge is a dish best served by Z1mZum in the 2k6 Series Guru Contest. |

To be honest, my favorite Link so far has got to be TP Link. I may lean that way too, after I play the game. I've been staying away from the spoilers and even screen shots as much as I can. But the Spaceworld2000 Link, while being a a little younger looking than the TP Link (dude he does not look 17... more like 24!), looks like he belongs in the Zelda world more so than the TP Link, who looks more like the invincible Fierce Deity Link. |

| I don't realised I have Samus coming last in
Battle Royale until just now... and I believe this is what most people
have (Crono/male winner fifth). That's why no one vote for Samus.
Samus' votes are only for sympathy. Tomorrow is going to be Mario/Snake. Question: Will I get the 8 points if Snake out tomorrow? (I have Crono out tomorrow) --- Croc+Chocobo=Crocobo Claude+Rena=Claude Rena |

In fact, the method you used to make them doesn't seem too farfetched,
I don't think. Although the one questionable bit I have is a constant
Squall, but it's probably more likely than not that he didn't receive

then Sonic and Crono's divisions boost proportionally. the problem with
this is that Sonic/Snake isn't actually taken into account; these stats
project that match to go 52.5/47.5 instead of 55/45. like I said,

and constant Squall was used to keep Snake down a little bit. if you
use constant Sonic, you end up with a Snake around 43% and a Samus
around 45-46. I don't feel good boosting the entire field up that high.

Cloud has had several winning updates against Link in the last hour.
Though it's more Link then anything. Snake just won one against him

Not too surprising. Cloud actually had a lead on Link for a small time

actually, it'll probably get ugly with the afterschool vote. we'll get
a glimpse in a few hours, but I don't think we'll see the full effect
until after school. but really, this isn't a one-on-one battle. it's tough to call a six-way "ugly". --- xyzzy |

Well, I think Link's going to easily finish with over 30% here. I think
it'll be pretty clear on who's going to be dominating the poll between

I think the interesting thing is we'll get to see some day-by-day
trends as well. I mean, technically we're getting 5 straight Cloud
versus Link (Or whatever final you've concocted...), and I'm curious

eh, I dunno if this is "SFF" -- Sephiroth just isn't as strong as Link
or Cloud. I think Mario's doing far worse with it than Sephiroth is,
personally. Sephiroth is not doing all that bad unless you thought he
was gonna get 25% or something, which I think was unrealistic. --- xyzzy |

Right now the Playstation characters are getting 53% of the vote
compared with 47% for the Nintendo characters. That will probably
change during the day, but at the moment it's I don't think Cloud's
upset chances look any worse than they did before the contest. Cloud
and Sephiroth are the only ones facing someone from their own game
(unless you count SSBM, I guess), so I'd say Cloud will probably absorb
a higher percentage of Sephiroth's votes after he's eliminated than
Link will of Samus and Mario's. Also, because Samus already gets SFFed harder than anyone else in the match, I think it's possible that the 8.5% who haven't defected don't prefer Link > Cloud by as big a margin as you might expect. --- ....TCELES B HSUP |

personally, I think Link/Cloud goes about the same as last year. but I
wouldn't take a six-way battle to mean much of anything about a
one-on-one battle. there's a lot of votes that could go either way

Good news, stat-heads! lol x-stats is ready to rock with all your 2006 results! http://www.thengamer.com/xstats/ Because there are no official adjusted stats yet, the raw values are in there as the main. (So don't click the box to use Raw, it won't work yet.) The adjustment to Base Link was made by setting Mega Man equal to his 2005 value. I'll edit that once creative comes up with a true least squares ratio to adjust more accurately. I've also adjusted a few things here and there while I was updating... all pictures now display in their true size on the results screen. The 3 random pics on top are now displayed in the larger, modern size of 140x150. If you click those randoms, you now get to see the full version. And at a couple people's suggestion, I've added a year tag to the top of the result page, so you know exactly who you're dealing with. For instance Snake (2006c) has a strength of 43.00 against Base Link. Snake (2005c) has a strength of 36.97 against Base Link. Rather than just Snake v Snake. And now to commemorate this proud event, I will throw out the ceremonial first lol x-stat! Snake (2006c) VS Snake (2005c) Snake has a strength of 43.00. Snake has a strength of 36.97. Snake wins with 57.01% of the vote! Cloud doesn't seem to be suffering at all from Sephiroth's presence. At
least, not as much as I expected. I thought he would share more votes
with him than Link would with Mario and Samus because they're from the
exact same game, but it doesn't seem to be the case. Unless Cloud
actually ends up beating Link one-on-one this time --- ertyu and VeghEsther are truly proof that there is much about this world we still do not understand. |
