Samus going from favorite to nearly losing outright to iffy to clear
underdog to winning the first couple hours is just emblematic of the
twists of this contest. And the true beauty in this is that this whole contest was essentially built around hype for the huge changes the gaming industry is about to experience (well, that and KHII >_>). I can only imagine what the future will bring. --- I don't know when, I don't know how, but I know something starting right now... Watch and you'll see, someday I'll be... part of your world! |

I can see Cloud AND Sephiroth ranking above Link with Samus and Mario (Snake too <_<) taking away his Nintendo votes. They are not going to take away very many of his Nintendo votes at all. He is the Nintendo character. Samus was the favourite simply because of the way Snake manhandled the
male bracket while Samus faltered a bit with her opponents (especially
ZSSF/FF12F boosted Tifa) TuRtLe ~~~ Pretty much out of the contest lol x-stats |

People are right, Link should break 20% on the first day. Still dubious about 25% though. And it also makes one wonder how exactly she seems so strong. FFXII is the preffered theory, yes? Actually FF12 is totally not even on the radar, in terms of logic. It's been discredited by like a bazillion things, though I still hear people talking about it. FF12F boosted Tifa I can't speak for everyone else, but I'd still consider that theory to be a bit faulty. Mainly because no other square character seemed to be affected by any sort of ff12 temporary square boost. --- Currently listening to: A Twist in the Myth, Amputechture, De<us Ex Machinae, Black Wings of Destiny, Let Mortal Heroes Sing your Fame, and others. |

The only problem with this contest was how ridiculously easy the female bracket was. Especially Yuna's division. The whole thing was matches that were just barely out of range of being interesting. Every match in that division could be decided with 10 seconds of thinking. --- Gordon Freeman finally won, but somehow, the universe survived... thus allowing me to tell said universe about how I was owned by NClark128. |

I'm really curious as to how SFF will play out in a six-way match. Does
most of the Samus support go to Link because he's at the top of the
Nintendo food chain, or does Mario pick up more of it since he
(arguably) pulled more SFF on her than Link did? Will Sephiroth
outperform Cloud because he's the lone villainous option in the poll?
Does Snake's fanbase get eaten at by FF7, by Nintendo, or will he
actually hold it because he's neither Square nor Nintendo? Does Samus
benefit at all from being the only female in the poll? Will Link be
hurt on the first day by his "favorite" status? There's a lot to look

There has never been any sign that Cloud and Sephiroth would go
dead-even anywhere (with 2k3 being the closest to date) -- Cloud has
beaten Sephiroth head-to-head twice, Cloud outdid Sephiroth against
Link last year, and that one DoC:FF7 website HM used to link to alot
had Cloud dominate a favorite-character poll that featured Sephiroth if
you want to argue "just FF7-fans will be voting for Cloud and Sephiroth
anyways"... ...so, unless you feel like Sephiroth's role in FF:AC made more people like him in it that Cloud's role (ha) or Seph's role in KH2 is THAT much better than Cloud's role in it (couldn't say one way or another on that), that's just ludicrous. BOLD PREDICTION: Sephiroth will never be within 2% of Cloud in any poll in the upcoming Battle Royal. --- Diddy did it. Diddy did it. DAMMIT! What didn't Diddy do?! |

Except Sora is looking to be on par with Auron, and they both
presumably benefitted from said theoretical 'boost' (and I'd expect
Auron to benefit more because he's ACTUALLY Final Fantasy, and PS2 FF

If Samus had a suited picture, Tifa would have got about 55%. If Samus
had a suited picture and the match took place 2 weeks earlier, Tifa
would have strugged to break 40% TuRtLe ~~~ Pretty much out of the contest lol x-stats |

Auron? Yuna? Sora?! Sub-Zero being so high makes me really doubt Auron's performance on Crono was legit. Since FFXII factor is being discussed: how do people see Tifa/Zelda
going now? It could be close, but this match is putting Zelda on

About Samus' supposed lackluster performance: Is it even right to conclude that Ganondorf is above Zelda? In 2003, he was extrapolated from Magus, and he had a close match with Tidus. The next year, all three of them got destroyed, though only Tidus was in a non-SFF match, but he got doubled (or almost doubled) by Mega Man. A year later, Magus loses to Knuckles. It seemed that all three were inflated because of Magus' unexplained performance on Link. Maybe Zelda > Ganondorf should be considered an example of the biting order of popularity not always hero > villain > other main characters. --- Sol Badguy can GUNFLAME my COCONUTS anyday |

Also, I read your script.... pretty good. Fun stuff... what class did you write that for? It's for an upcoming event -- no grades or anything...though it deserves an A+! Sub-Zero being so high makes me really doubt Auron's performance on Crono was legit. First it was "Frog > Sub-Zero with 55%" because Sub-Zero had a game come out before MC/Sub-Zero, then when Sub-Zero cracked 40% on Auron we heard "KHF is bull****" some more (though, granted, it wasn't you saying that), then when Auron did so well against Crono people said Crono probably dropped... ...really, come on now -- Sub-Zero was going to always be stronger than Scorpion, noticably stronger at that...and, though I didn't expect it to have him be THIS high, it's still plenty within his range (and fits nicely with me having always said MK ain't that far behind SF on this site, though there are plenty more people with SF as their #1 series than MK). --- Diddy did it.
