2:30-5 hours in or so is pretty much snakes best time. I'd be scared if
he wasn't cutting percentage off samus here and stalling, because that

| Tifa was still mostly stalling here, but let's not
forget that Tifa was down by a fair bit less. And, impressive as that
performance was...she still lost. Snake could pull it out if his day vote was better than hers, but that's a real stretch. Although Tifa hasn't been shown to be that good with it all contest, and she ended up losing more percentage to Sonic than Snake did... ...bah. --- *kills self* Commit it to memory. |

And with that, Samus has surpassed her pace against Tifa. A sad, sad day. Well, it must be for a Snake supporter such as yourself, but even in losing to Samus, he still had a ridiculously sick, sick run. Samus, not unlike Snake, doesn't get much contest love, she had that really bad loss to Mario, as well as her Tifa debacle a week or so ago. She didn't really have as many opportunities to out and out impress the contest audience, being stuck in the female half; I think she deserves to prove that she earns the fifth slot; it isn't that sad a day. go Samus! --- Revenge is a dish best served by Z1mZum in the 2k6 Series Guru Contest. |

How is Sonic behind Mega Man and Crono in those stats? Sonic beat Crono
directly, and what Snake does on Samus shouldn't effect Mega Man

I'll catch up on the stats topic later...don't know what everyone's been talking about yet. Snake is losing to Samus...what on Earth? Samus'll only increase her percentage later on, too, perhaps even up to 54/55%. I was predicting about a 54% victory for Solid Snake, though ... Samus really did seem like she was worth about 39% on BL beforehand, looking at her matches against (over-rated) Rikku and Zelda...maybe those were unfair to Samus, and Rikku's 2K5 value was actually rather accurate, perhaps due to Ryu under-performing on Bowser in 2K5. It looks like Aeris will have a respectable x-stat value in the end, and Yuna...uh...o_O (not to mention Tifa). Well, I figure's there's three decent ways to explain this: One, Samus never lost a bit of ground since her peak..heck, she may have been under-rated even with her SC2K5 value. Of course, that would mean Samus was hurt like MAD with her ZSS on Samus, and was rSFFed by Zelda, almost surely. Two, Solid Snake vs. Sonic the Hedgehog was a fluke and should've been much closer. Three, which I get the feeling is a VERY popular opinion in the topic... Snake is being rSFFed by Samus because of Snake being in the SSBB trailor and all. I could see any of those being the case...I want to say it's a little bit of combination of one and two, though. I definitely want to say #2 has a great shot at being true, since we had quite a bit of data with the quarter-brackets of both Snake and Sonic to compare between 2K5 and 2K6, and least-squares ...of course, least squares using a whole bracket is better, but still, 20+ 2K5 characters is better than doing it for even the entire bracket of Sp2K5. Considering the flukes, Nintendo Boostage, etc, the Sp2K5 stats actually ended up fairly accurate (yes, that's right...accurate, thought slightly high, and Sephiroth and Liquid were the anomalies). Of course, I -definitely- wouldn't count out bad luck on the least-squares math, especially since one messed up result in some unknown match can totally mess things up. --- Antivote this petition, it sucks and would be wasting bandwidth: http://boards.gamefaqs.com/gfaqs/genmessage.php?board=7&topic=30693799 |

Still haven't read much, but before someone starts bashing what I
say... I very much respect the idea of Snake/Samus being the fluke,
since it makes Crono, Sonic, and Mega Man all very close together like

Meh, Snake/Samus isn't flukish unless Samus is seriously siphoning
Snake's new boost (or if Solid is suffering from Ceej NOT FIXING THE
****ING POLL). Unless it's just plain weird. Snake/Sonic being the fluke makes a lot more sense, and lines things up much closer to where you would expect (Tifa aside). I can't imagine Samus making Crono look as bad as she made Sonic look in 2004. Though Crono really doesn't look good no matter what you do with him. Two, Solid Snake vs. Sonic the Hedgehog was a fluke and should've been much closer. Not necessarily. In 2004 when Samus faced Sonic again, Samus got 57.51% of the vote, compared to the 54.99% of the vote Snake got against Sonic. I'm still a very big believer that rather then Snake being stronger then ever, Crono and Mega Man merely fell. Samus beating Snake seems to support that all the more. Three, which I get the feeling is a VERY popular opinion in the topic... Snake is being rSFFed by Samus because of Snake being in the SSBB trailor and all. I don't really see that being the case. I can maybe see board voters factoring in Snake's impending SSBB performance but I don't think more casual voters are going to vote for Snake over a game that's coming out sometime next year. It is pretty annoying that the poll keeps shifting down to the lower
part. I think this malfunction does indeed hurt Snake because Snake is

I have to mention a certain interesting thing...if Ryu beats Rikku the
same way now as last year, and both their losses to Mega Man and Samus
were legit, Samus beats Mega Man with 58.29%. So, Samus needs to beat
Snake with 53.66% to make the Ryu/Rikku proportion still perfect, and

I hate to triple post, but blast everyone for being asleep, and blast myself for being such a night owl! SC2K6 has shaped up to be one of my favorite contests ever, and that's without the Battle Royale... You see...Samus is my favorite of all the Noble Niners, and I just -hated- how SC2K5 ended... I was hoping to see some sort of upset involving the Noble Nine, and it indeed happened...but ONLY with Samus, who was flat out embarassed. On top of that, many had doubts Samus was anywhere near Mario in popularity... :( This year...nearly the opposite came true...Samus becomes an underdog for the last few rounds only to win the bracket, and two more upsets involving the Noble Nine occur, and they do not even involve Samus. :) Maybe the vote totals will actually get LOWER as the Battle Royale goes on, and the all-time record will be on Day 1...? It's a crazy theory, but the characters will get fewer as the days go by. Actually, I could see something like... Day 1: 160,000; Day 2; 170,000; Day 3; 180,000; Day 4; 170,000; Day 5; 160,000; Day 6; 160,000.
