Ness has enough strength to win matches solely because of Smash Bros. I
wouldn't be surprised if we saw Pit AND Meta-Knight next year. If Sonic is in it though...next year will be just as crazy as this one. The female bracket has been dull, yet the male has been completely insane.. --- Gordon Freeman finally won, but somehow, the universe survived... thus allowing me to tell said universe about how I was owned by NClark128. |

Snake was a topic of conversation by snake fans, and peopel
surprised a non-nitendo character got in. Nobody actually started
liking him for his amazing ten seconds of exposure who didn't before. I've never played an MGS game for longer than 10 minutes, and was never a fan of Snake, and I was jacked about him being in Brawl. TuRtLe ~~~ Pretty much out of the contest lol x-stats |

BT, I can't wait until you get proven wrong here. Snake is not a God at the night vote and the day vote. He will perform great during the night, but if you seriously expect Snake to continue ****ing increasing throughout the day, you will be completely shocked. Nobody actually started liking him for his amazing ten seconds of exposure who didn't before. You're holding pretty tough to this, but I have empirical (albeit anecdotal) evidence to the contrary. It might not be responsible for all of it, but the trailer doing *something* here should almost be flat out expected at this rate. --- *kills self* Commit it to memory. |

If Snake is only going to get better during the night, Sonic's going to

He's not going to increase, but he won't decrease to lower than what he
got on MM. Remember, MM was never a chump with the day vote, and Snake
held him to 7 updates. I wouldn't be surprised to see Snake finish
above 56% in the end, but he doesn't even NEED to finish that high for
me to be right. As long as Sonic doesn't do any more than 1% better

never a fan of Snake, and I was jacked about him being in Brawl. Agree with BT on this one, some people never got a chance to play MGS before but they are interested in Snake appearance in SSBB. Go to SSBB board to check it out. --- I am a Singaporean and hope Snake will do well for the rest of the contest. |

never a fan of Snake, and I was jacked about him being in Brawl. My friend had never heard of snake, and after I lent him mgs1 this year he's one of his faovurite characters. Snake got positive exposure to a completely new fanbase. It's like what
happened with Leon between last year and this year, except on a much
larger scale since Snake hasn't had a game on a Nintendo system in

When snake got games on both gamecube and xbox it had negigable effects and ten seconds of exposure will boost him to clinkeroth heights? | Well, you've got to consider the fanbase. The only
people who go out and play MGS games are the ones who are interested in
those games to begin with (and at BEST, it's #5 here), and putting
select titles on other systems really isn't going to reel in the other
crowd that much more. But this is him reaching out to the biggest crowd on Nintendo today -- the SSB fanbase. These guys are rabid -- they got SSB #4 in the Series Contest stats despite the fact it went up against freaking Super Mario Brothers. They follow everything SSB related like crazy, and I'll be damned if they don't lap up every single bit of information like it's from the Holy Grail. This place EXPLODED when it was announced that Snake was going to be in Brawl. I check that board routinely, and people are constantly talking about how they've picked up MGS games so that they can learn about Snake in anticipation of him being in the game. It was literally EVERYWHERE. ...honestly, I didn't believe it that much at first (which is why I only had him getting past MM), but results don't lie. Snake has a very good chance at winning this thing without ever letting anyone crack 45% on him. --- *kills self* Commit it to memory. |

The same reason why every other character hasn't boosted because of trailers. Or maybe because every other character has only appeared in trailers for games that the people who would vote for them anyways would watch. I'll guarentee you at least 70% of the people following SSB:B had never played an MGS game and would never have voted Snake before the trailer.
