I still fail to see why MM would fall off the map completely. Crono stayed the same, just the new voters voted Sonic based on recognizability. I won't concede a MM drop unless Sonic outperforms MM on Snake by a good margin. TuRtLe ~~~ Pretty much out of the contest lol x-stats |

I actually doubt Sonic or Crono really changed in strength all that
much this year. If they went anywhere, it's up. The only person I
really think fell is Mega Man, and the reasons why are obvious. What's

Is this the biggest upset of the contest? At least Snake was obviously gonna beat Mega Man after we saw their first matches, where Snake was a beast and Mega Man was a joke. I never expected Sonic to beat Crono to this day, though. What a crazy contest. At least it's the good kind of crazy. Someone did suggest a Chrono Trigger feedback loop of sorts. People see it do well, and so they decide to see what it is about, and vote for it in turn. ~~~ The one. The only. Lady Ashe. |

man, I don't know how else to say this: this isn't a drop or whatever.
Sonic is outdoing expectations by a whopping 2%. if this was 65%
instead of 63%, everybody would say how accurate the x-stats are. any
match that's projected to be that close is a tossup. random variation
can easily put one over the other. this isn't an upset. we really haven't had a major x-stat upset this contest. the closest thing would be Sub-Zero > Master Chief but we never had a value on him in the first place. Yoshi > Dante is about as close as we get otherwise and that's because we had no idea where Yoshi was at. --- zizzy |

And this result is less to do with any failure in transivity than Sonic getting that small boost to put him over the hump. If I knew the votals were going to be this high throughout the contest, I probably would have taken Sonic > Crono Then again, I probably would have had MM winning the male side if that were the case <_< TuRtLe ~~~ Pretty much out of the contest lol x-stats |

People change their mind ALL the time. That's mostly Board 8ers that switch their opinions on the drop of a hat. I don't think that many people change their minds, or else we wouldn't have characters like Alucard and Crono stay so strong despite having little mainstream exposure since their major releases. we really haven't had a major x-stat upset this contest. the closest
thing would be Sub-Zero > Master Chief but we never had a value on

Who cares if he performed absolutely horribly against every single character he went against this year, including losing by 13K votes to Solid Snake. Yeah, MM stayed exactly the same. --- - Why the hell did I bet against a character as deep, awesome and badass as Lara Croft, instead favouring a character from something as lame as HL2? | As much as I don't like Sonic in 3D, he IS popular

Tifa.. well, we'll see. no one knows what happened there yet, not to mention we never knew where Samus was in the first place. Zero / Kirby / Luigi? Luigi (2005c) VS Zero (2005c) Luigi has a strength of 31.32. Zero has a strength of 32.09. Zero wins with 51.20% of the vote! A win of 2,258 with 94,114 total votes cast. uhh check out that huge upset guys Luigi (2005c) VS Kirby (2005c) Luigi has a strength of 31.32. Kirby has a strength of 34.99. Kirby wins with 55.24% of the vote! A win of 9,692 with 92,403 total votes cast. this one you can make a case for, but everyone knew Kirby was overrated. --- zizzy |

The sad thing is, if HM was ranting about how Ganondorf would kick Mega
Man's ass, he probably would've turned out right for the first time...
ever. Oh well, there's always next contest. Except by then HM's gonna be supporting some other weird-ass upset that won't happen anyway. freaking roof. There's no reason to possibly believe that Snake is on Mario's level based on a SSBB trailer. Mega Man/Snake was sort of over two years ago. It's plenty capable of changing in those two years, especially when Snake gets something like MGS3 in between.
