So...assuming Snake finishes in the 54-55% range, what do you think his chances are of beating Sonic/Crono? Damn good, my friend. In another note, this is making Squall look extremely good. If there was any SFF in that second round match (or hell, even if there wasn't at this point), Mega Man/Squall would be pretty damn interesting. --- I don't know when, I don't know how, but I know something starting right now... You forgot Yoshi is facing Sprite Snake. Samus/Tifa be damned, I'm not completely recanting. The voters aren't that stupid. They don't have selective vision; it was clearly that same old, ugly Snake everyone knows and loves in the backround. You step on personal territory when you try and take down Yoshi! go snake! Avenge Zelda-being-shot-in-the-head-by-mega-man-in-the-most-biased-picture-ever! --- Revenge is a dish best served by Z1mZum in the 2k6 Series Guru Contest. |

FastFalcon05, just answer this question. Assuming there are 5-8% of the
voters who do not know who Snake or Yoshi are, who will they vote for.
I think there are a poll on board 8 asking user to vote on character
based on picture. The results are Snake:3 Yoshi: 32 --- I am a Singaporean and I hope Snake will beat Megaman. |

Though admittedly The Boss looks awesome after what Tifa did to
Samus...but Tifa/Boss was blatant SFF, and it's fairly obvious that

...I really couldn't imagine The Boss coming back if we don't have
another female bracket next year (and we'd better not). She only
managed a 4 seed despite how much that system favored her...there's no
one else around that seeding level that I could see make a regular
contest without significant rallying, and this board has a tendency to
drop characters after they are perceived to bomb. Even if it's
suspected to be SFF -- look at what happened to Liquid after the
Villains Contest! --- *kills self* Commit it to memory. |

Villains Contest! Liquid is coming back next year as well, as is Boss IMO. You're right, it is suspected to be SFF. Anybody with half a brain cell knows that her performance on Tifa is nowhere near legit, while her performance on Celes definitely was. People will remember what she did in a debatable match (why it was debatable I'll never know) when they come to vote next year. She's not as underrated in the stats as she would have been - Tifa's performance makes up for that - but she is still marginally underrated, and thus would give Axel a match. Now that is something worth nominating. If FFXII is a factor, Crono > Samus is a lock. Not really. FFXII is going to affect FF characters considerably more than the mute protagonist of a 10-year-old game. Sora. I think that should dispell the whole "FFXII Influx made Sora
overperform!" stuff. Wouldn't it be the other way around? I'm assuming Snake's Xstat remains the same whether he wins with 51% or 60%. The closer MM gets, the stronger he gets, and the stronger Sora gets. No? Unless you worked those stats the other way around. --- A skilled decoy can throw his enemies of their path. A master decoy can live to do it again. |

Snake is just doing amazingly here. If the Bowser and Sora matches from
last year are any indication, Mega Man shouldn't swing him any more
than a point or so with the afterschool vote. 54% is likely his

noticeably stronger as well, unless you want to put the Blue Bomber on
the level of 2005 Dante and Knuckles. ...Duh? The Boss won't be back in a 'normal' bracket! Raiden & Liquid need another shot far more than The Boss does. All 3 are behind SFF (and a total lack of transivity in Liquid's case). Also, I will now assume that Ryu and Rikku maintain the same proportion they did in 2005! Based on Snake's current percentage, Rikku gets 32.67% on him. That's only about a point and a half worse than Samus did, and doing that makes Mega Man look absolutely pathetic. I don't know about you guys but I'm taking Snake over Samus after MGS4 and SSBB. <_< --- *kills self* Commit it to memory. |
