So, take away those few thousand votes Tifa cheated off, and you get a more accurate poll result, because it means their cheating was then even and thus negligeble.

It doesn't change the result much, no. But it still changes it when looking at how strong each character is.

No, the cheat votes were already removed. CJayC said that if they weren't, Tifa would have won. The results were not affected.

Those few thousand additional vote stuffing never registered to begin with. According to CJay, the result is legit.

Wait, Tifa cheated? Interesting.

Her voters tried to cheat. Those votes weren't counted.

Why "much, much better?" Nobody honestly expected her to be around Aeris's number even so. It's impressive when you consider just how much Zelda had been killing everything up to this point. Yes, Yuna had, too, but nobody expected her to be more than middle of the road. We knew Zelda was near-elite. That's what makes this impressive.

There's only so big a window when you expect Yuna to do worse than Aeris and Zelda to do comparably to Ganondorf on Yuna (61.2). Personally, I didn't think Zelda would outdo Ganondorf by much, if at all, especially after the release of KH2, which could have only helped Yuna. I guess for me this match falling in that 57-61 category is expected.

Yuna defying the typical Zelda trends was impressive. She held her own during Zelda's powerful morning vote, and she's not doing too shabbily right now with the after school vote either.

if anything, it would help new Square, not old Square. there seems to be a divide there.

anyway, I don't think it's doing much at all. Yuna has been impressive throughout the contest, before or after FFXII. if it's helping her, it's by like 1% or something.

....Hmm? Wouldn't FFXII help Auron there?

That's the point.

If that was an Auron on steroids akin to this Yuna or yesterday's Tifa, Crono would be looking pretty damn impressive.

And even if he only did that well because he party benefited from it too. Well then, that's still just as good!

Janus5000 | Posted 11/8/2006 2:03:45 PM | message detail
Exactly, red - if FFXII helped Auron as much as it allegedly helped Tifa, Crono's looking good against... everyone.

Though I agree that it's probably not much of a factor - Yuna's been looking rather beastly the whole contest. Joanna made her look stronger than Snake!

Tarrot | Posted 11/8/2006 2:13:58 PM | message detail
I'm thinking that Crono/Auron was an example of FFXIISFF where the boon from FFXII would be felt less, especially considering the similarities in genre, and company. Hence, Auron got some boost, but Crono got some as well, cutting down the overall boost Auron would be expected to get, especailly considering Tifa and Yuna.

Keep in mind that Zelda/Aeris was in the wake of FFXII's release, so you can only throw so much onto it. Sure, people will say that it was because it was the day after, so there weren't many people, but nevertheless.

Just breached 100,000 votes. Hopefully this holds up through the rest of the contest.

The Oracle predictions for Snake/Mega Man seem fairly split.

Right now I give a slight edge to Snake. Though Mega Man winning wouldn't be surprising. The thing that would surprise me is if either one got more than 51.5% or so.

I love Snake but want MM to win tomorrow...kind of. >_< I'm eliminated from the guru if Snake wins. I'm becoming more and more of a bracket voter every day...it sucks. I voted for Kairi, Peach and Vincent (an FF character) for crying out loud.

And don't get me wrong, I'm voting for Snake tomorrow. But egh. Dilemmas ftw

Snake looks like the board favourite right now. not by much though. despite MM's 2-0 record, I'd be more surprised by a big MM win than a big Snake win. a big MM win would mean Snake = Sora which would make my head explode.
