There was SFF...Samus is underrated...just like she'll be underrated
next year if she loses this match or if she wins and doesnt absolutely

Um...well Tifa gained 5 votes still on the last update. So I don't
think there is going to be any preventing it since I would give the

Samus should have won the contest last year with clinkeroth out of it. And then this year it was handed on a plate to her, and it looks like she's about to choke again. TCA your still looking at it in terms of the NN...its not...Clinkeroth
is so far above everyone right now its foolish to even think about
anyone beating Clinkeroth...its based on strength, not contest history
like the NN...in fact, after TP it might just be Link and those two FF7

Cloud beats Link this year anyway. So it would be interesting to see what happens between Cloud and Link next year after TP is released. Also, it would be equally interesting to see what would happen if they really did re-create FF7 for the PS3 with the enhanced graphics. Zelda is NOT doing anything Ganondorf couldn't. She isn't. If you tinker with the stats and assume there was no SFF, does Tifa's performance make sense now? Exactly! All the SFF was in Samus/Ganon, not Mario/Samus. Well, I don't really buy that, but I've thought Samus was a tad overadjusted for a year now, and there was SFF in Samus/Ganon. Sure Samus is terrible at SFF, but at least she didn't let Link beat her down worse than CATS with it. As for this match, I'd say it's a combination of the picture, KH2, and FFXII. FFXII is the biggest game to ever release during a contest: 1.5 million copies sold is no joke. If only 3% of that votes in a poll, that's 45000 extra votes. For comparison, Cloud typically gets around that percentage of people who have bought FFVII to vote for him.... Of course, much of the FFXII voters would have voted anyway even without the game, but if SMS could turn Mario/Cloud from a 55/45 affair into a 50/50 match with 1/5 the sales, then FFXII could give a similar shift for Auron and Tifa. As for Aeris... well, the game didn't have as many sales then, and maybe the people who bought FFXII like Zelda more? --- "........!" ~Magus |

I doubt FF7 Remake does as much for Cloud and Sephy as everyone says it
will...its just appealing to people that already like the game
anyways...it'll help no doubt (look at AC) but I hard think it'll be

I disagree. FF7 is well past its prime and right now is the biggest
time for gaming in history. Making FF7 for the PS3 with enhanced
graphics and a few extras that weren't in the oringinal will bring a
whole slew of new people into the fold and really boost its popularity.
You don't have to trust me, but if FF7 comes out for PS3 all the FF7 characters will get a major boost (along with minor boosts for the rest of the FF chars). --- Que sera, sera. Whatever will be, will be. -The biggest Sonic fan ever.- |

Lol @ PS3 bombing. I've said this before but they could take a cardboard box, put some christmas lights on it, call it the PS3 and it would still sell better than any other console out there. Anywho. Looks like Tifa couldn't hold off the morning hope like I hoped. Her hopes ended there at 8 AM. But still, good showing. And O_o at votals. At 5 AM is was projected to get just over 140,000 and it's maintained that and has almost reached a projected 145,000. Very nice. --- ertyu and VeghEsther are truly proof that there is much about this world we still do not understand. |
