The gap is under 600 votes. I'm too lazy to check what it is but she has been gaining all day. Tifa is easily stronger than Zelda. Aeris is just one of the weakest FF7 chars. But you think that if Samus wins this that she will beat Zelda and go on to do respectably against the male bracket winner? You're blind if you don't think this is pic factor. Zero Suit Samus is unrecognizable by the largest portion of her base, SSBM fanboys. Look how weak Metroid is in the Series contest, you think all the people voting Samus have played her games and seen her sans helmet and suit? If so, you're out of your mind. If Samus wins she will beat Zelda around 55/45 assuming she gets a real pic (With ZSS pic Zelda might just win), then go 50/50 with the male winner. --- Z1mZum owned me in the guru contest (by two points!). Oh, not to mention it'll be fun to see Squall and Tidus next year, and
if characters like Mega Man have to face characters like Vincent, it'll

I swear to god, next year's gonna be chaos. If this is Tifa being
over-rated bad, then if the male half now have close matches here on
out and in the championship as well, then the Battle Royal's not going
to tell us anything much except who's the two strongest and who wins
between them, then bring back lots of snubs like Knuckles and Ness or
how about some Fox McCloud...THEN consider we'll have the new influx
brought by the PS3 and Wii, not to mention the big games that will
follow and such... ...I swear to god, next year's gonna be chaos. QFMFT. I hope we don't get a games contest in place of it like many have been proposing. I hope we get another Spring games contest, and in the fall we get another character contest. --- Portugal. The Man Cheer Up Emo Kids |

| Nah, Samus is least recognizable to Metroid fans.
SSB/M fans are well-aware of SSBB by now, I'm sure (though it may be
worth noting that, as a SSB/M fan, I was least excited to see ZSS out

Nah, Samus is least recognizable to Metroid fans. Indeed. Suitless Samus looks nothing like that in the 2D Metroid games...outside of ZM, of course. It's also a less likable appearance. It's rediculous to think that people wouldn't notice her name and the
background ship picture. It's pretty obvious who she is, if you can't
figure it out and then you vote for Tifa in stead, then Tifa is just
more popular. It's simple. Fact is, ZSS is part of who Samus is and if
Samus' fans can't recognize her like that (which probably isn't even a
factor) then she doesn't deserve their votes because she isn't as

I'm pretty confident in Samus here. she rocked
the morning vote and will probably start doing the same in an hour and
some when people get out of school. I'd be pretty shocked if Tifa
stayed close. ..man, if this is picture factor, Samus is gonna become a scary pick. yeah she'll be more recognizable when SSBB is out, but she'll never be as strong as when she's rocking her power suit. that's how people know and love her. I really hope she doesn't get a ZS picture in the final - watch her lose with like 40%. --- xyzzy |
