...I still think it's the picture... Seriously, with Solid ****, it was: "Uh, who's that pixel thing? *looks at name* oh, it's Snake, I guess it's from its old game I never played. Go Snake!" But here it's: "Who the hell is that against Tifa?! *looks a name* Uh? Samus?!? No, that is NOT Samus, what kind of joke is that?!. *votes Tifa*" <_< Yes, I'm biased. Go Samus! --- ~¹²¤§î¦€Ñ¢€¤²¹~ |

Hm... nope, sorry, but SC > Wind Waker's day in the sun would be
over. This would be the biggest upset in Contest history. WW was Zelda,
sure, but after seeing the rallies StarCraft got against well-respected
titles like Halo and KH, no one was expecting WW to take it in a
blowout. The average Oracle was Zelda with just 56%, and 5 people
actually called the SC upset. http://oraclechallenge.com/archives.php?contest=SpC2k4&type=match&match=55 Wind Waker might have been a slight favorite to take the 128 bit division, but FFX was right there as well, and plenty of casuals were probably suckered in by Halo and GTA. Samus, on the other hand, was not only the overwhelming favorite to take this whole side of the bracket, but the clear majority choice for overall champion as well. We're talking about 56 points going up in flames on the average predictor's bracket. 56 points! Only Cloud > Link in 2003 comes even close to matching that bracket effect. This is just... unbelievable. --- thengamer.com/xstats - "lol x-stats," The Contest Simulator thengamer.com/gamefaqs - The Contest Archives |

Even if people didn't recognize Suitless Samus via the picture, there's
no way in hell they'd look at the name next to the vote button and go
"Samus Aran? Who's that?" Unless she's recognizable by her suit alone. --- And that's The Word. |

suitless samus looks infinitely better anyways they should just dump the old model and use a suitless one in the next games also, lead will be below 500 very soon |

It seems the FF XII is really pulling in the RPG people to vote. This is the end plays for Crono's pocket in the main bracket. He is the only RPG character alive on the male side. Though this doesn't bode well for anyone but sephy and cloud in the battle royale.... |

Just the fact that a Noble 9er is letting an
outsider score 58% updates is insulting. Get your fine, curvy,
delicious ass in gear, Samus. --- I don't know when, I don't know how, but I know something starting right now... Watch and you'll see, someday I'll be... part of your world! |

Also, this sad performance almost forces me to cheer for Samus against
Zelda. There's no way the same person who scared Sephiroth, held up
better than Mario against Link, and broke 40% on Cloud could have
fallen this hard. If she gets past Zelda, I still consider her the
overall favorite (assuming she gets a Power Suit pic >_>). Also,
I'd just love to see a set of stats where Tifa ranks second. --- I don't know when, I don't know how, but I know something starting right now... Watch and you'll see, someday I'll be... part of your world! |

The fact that there is the morning vote and then the after school vote
after that, this match is definitely over. There's no guarantee that
Tifa will even get the lead here during the night. Impressive
performance, no doubt, but this one is done come morning. --- "Let's face it: the princess Zelda has always been a symbol of sexual desire." |

Even if people didn't recognize Suitless Samus via the picture,
there's no way in hell they'd look at the name next to the vote button
and go "Samus Aran? Who's that?" Unless she's recognizable by her suit
alone. And that's my point. Some people will be frustrated to see someone who they think is NOT the Samus they know and love. Thus they vote for Tifa (assuming they know Tifa of course). Also, I'm sure some people don't actually know what's Samus name and normally vote because they recognize the pic. Yes, that's ridiculous, but I have little doubt many people are that clueless. Also, FFXII and KHII. <_< |
rpgapzx | Posted 11/7/2006 1:33:56 AM | message detail |
With the influx to Tifa's count being attributed to FF12, theres no
reason a change in voting demogrpahic may not favor Tifa's day vote. It
might not, but it might. No need to call it now HM. --- Poker is proof that men are the irrational sex. SC2K6: 93/96 // Today: Samus Leaderboard 40th |

But that's just the thing. Tifa is pulling in these huge 58% update
victories during the hours of voting dominated by Europeans. Euroes, as
in... the one group that isn't
playing FF12 right now. I don't see why it should be a given that
things are going to be "set straight" once the FF12-loving American
crowd begins to wake up. Especially not when this KH2 pic plays so well
into the same hands that Sora and Auron have exploited to the utmost
this past week... Frankly, I'm nervous! --- thengamer.com/xstats - "lol x-stats," The Contest Simulator thengamer.com/gamefaqs - The Contest Archives |
