While we're on the subject, who would win between Samus and Snake in
the Battle Royale? We've seen a big overlap between MGS stuff and FF
stuff, and if Snake's weaker than Samus to start with, he might end up

Well, the Battle Royale is different than anything we've ever seen
contest-wise. Yoshi is much weaker than Mario, but yet you throw him
into the fray with a bunch of other Mario characters, and suddenly he
beats him in a poll. Head-to-head strength isn't going to matter as
much as people think in determining who wins or the order. This is
basically a glorified Favorites Poll in contest form, and we know those
don't line up with what we see in these contests. Of course, Cloud and Sephiroth dominate any Final Fantasy related poll they're in, so Snake and Samus would have a very small percentage of votes to compete over anyway as Link is likely still a beast in these as well. --- Captain Jack Sparrow's Run to the NCAA Character Contest II Championship: Week 6: Han Solo (5-0) |

Somehow I've been imagining six different pictures arranged in a
circle with the voting dots beside each one. Probably unnecessary, and

That idea of Samus/Mario/Link (Saminkio, I like the sound of that!!)
charging at Crono/Cloud/Seph who are themselves charging at the Ninty
group would be badass. I hope he makes it so that the match picture is
like the width of the banner, but even longer, with voting options
underneath. We'd probably draw a lot more votes that way too, which

Well I agree... but it would be awesome to see Yoshi win nonetheless.
I'm not so attached to VG characters that I actually care if they win
matches. I just like things going the way I say they will... or awesome
stuff happening out of the blue once my bracket is shot. So in short,

The only time I get attetched to matches is when it's a clear
like/dislike situation with the two choices AND my bracket goes along
with my favorite. Otherwise, I can find the pros and cons in each match
enough to usually not worry about who wins. 'Tis just the internet, I

You know, I was thinking about Yoshi/Snake earlier today and I managed
to get myself a little worried about the match. If Bowser put up
rediculous numbers on Snake last year, and this year, we get an even
worse sprite... Plus, for me, Yoshi has every reason to be stronger than Bowser in these things (though that's not the case). Put that all together and it really makes you think about what could happen here. ...seriously why the **** does everyone insist on characters boosting
and being stronger than last year based on absolutely nothing? Soma was
unknown, and has everyone reason to be crap. Squall was SFFed, MG/FF
have a weird relationship, we've seen it before. Yes, he could have
boosted, but I'm really tired of all the "OH MAN SNAKE ON ROIDS, ZELDA
MONSTROUS" when there's nothing more than obviously flawed matches

Man, is Yuna looking so good. Wouldn't it be great if that was Yuna's
strength LAST year, and that Ganondorf's at 38% on BL, Auron's at 35%
(and that's last year!), and that means Vincent's at 40% and Sonic's
42%?! Watch out, Crono! And then you could say Samus just SFFed
Ganondorf and is around the 42-43% area as suggested by Rikku...=p On another note...what if Yuna was over-performing today? If f Zelda got 64+% on Yuna next round then I'd definitely say it's the case...that probably won't happen, though. I'm much more interested in Mega Man/Sora than in Snake/Yoshi, for some reason... maybe it's because I don't feel like Snake/Yoshi is gonna say much for how strong Snake actually is...well, it could, but we just won't know. I'm also looking forward to Sonic vs. Luigi, but not so much for Crono vs. Auron...now, if Auron managed 65% on Sub-Zero rather than 60%, that might've been a different story. After his match with Crono I'm convinced the magnitude that he was overrated was about half of what I was expecting, if Samus trippled Rikku, I would have been calling Samus > Seph a mortal lock. --- Portugal.
