Snake's terrible day vote will be out in full force thanks to the
sprite picture. If he wants to end above 55% he'll probably need to get
~60% before morning X_X --- ertyu and VeghEsther are truly proof that there is much about this world we still do not understand. |

Okay, people are getting a little too sure-headed about Snake > Mega Man. So what happens if Mega Man still beats Snake without a problem? Everyone switches to Mega Man > the main bracket? --- *Is therealmnm* Proud Supporter of Zero |
trannyscience | Posted 11/2/2006 9:09:39 PM | message detail |
heh, Frog actually had a lead on Snake for 15 minutes. he only lost about 2% with the day vote, but that's still 2% to Frog. --- zizzy |
Karma Hunter | Posted 11/2/2006 9:10:11 PM | message detail |
Snake gave up comparatively little of the day vote to Squall, who didn't too too
shabby against Knuckles...sure, it's a SFF match and that changes
things (though it didn't seem to against Sora), but I don't see a
titanic collapse here. --- *kills self* Commit it to memory. |

Snake's looking good. Though, I can't see Yoshi not ripping the
percentage to shreds in the day. Pretty much every Nintendo character
so far has dominated during the day and with Sprite Snake in effect, it
looks good for the Yoshster. --- Demyx > Axel Z1mZum owned me in the Guru Contest with his mad skills! |

Recall that Yoshi made Dante look as bad as Jill with the day vote (as
many were praising Dante's day vote, no less), and this is, well, Snake
we're talking about. Losing the day vote to Frog takes skill. --- Mustache...and green... http://www.rit.edu/~zmb0386/Top100.pdf |

many were praising Dante's day vote And I'll never understand why they were. Dante is merely average in the day, a little less if you wanted to get specific (which is why he's so bloody consistent). Yoshi just made expected headway there. --- *kills self* Commit it to memory. |
trannyscience | Posted 11/2/2006 9:14:40 PM | message detail |
as bad as Jill? Yoshi won the day vote by.. .7%. mmm, I guess Peach
only won it by 1%, but Peach didn't exactly dominate the pitiful Tifa
in the daytime either. --- zizzy |

Karma Hunter | Posted 11/2/2006 9:19:32 PM | message detail |
Yeah, Yoshi definitely has a better day vote than Peach I'd say, and
it's a given that he's of course going to win the day by a decent
margin. Snake has seemed a lil' better with it this year though, so I
don't foresee a Snake/Knux-style collapse. --- *kills self* Commit it to memory. |

small % cut by Yoshi --- CB5 Oracle Challenge - Today's prediction: Solid Snake with 55.75% |
RPGuy96 | Posted 11/2/2006 9:21:41 PM | message detail |
Yoshi went from a lead of 0 when the after school vote started to a lead of 1700 before Dante started bringing it down again. Peach went from a deficit of 1400 to a lead of 300 before Jill started bringing it down again. Both characters swung 1700 votes, which is why I said what I did. Peach did it with noticeably less total votes, though, which makes the percentages look a little sketchier. --- Mustache...and green... http://www.rit.edu/~zmb0386/Top100.pdf |
The n00b Avenger | Posted 11/2/2006 9:32:03 PM | message detail |
w00t 63% update. I would love for Snake to land at what he would be expected to get on Yoshi assuming no SFF on Squall. --- ertyu and VeghEsther are truly proof that there is much about this world we still do not understand. |
trannyscience | Posted 11/2/2006 9:32:17 PM | message detail |
but there's no comparison there. I argued that Yoshi would win the day
vote by about 1% and that if Dante could build a lead with the
during-school vote, he'd be able to withstand Yoshi's day vote. people
were saying Dante was flat-out awful with the day vote which simply
wasn't true. the problem was that Mario's deadly morning vote stopped
Dante from getting any kind of a lead. Jill on the other hand is truly pitiful. she lost it to a character who did worse against Tifa in the day than a MGS character. --- zizzy |
trannyscience | Posted 11/2/2006 9:33:12 PM | message detail |
and ow, once this Nintendo vote wears off this could get brutal --- zizzy |
Haste_2 | Posted 11/2/2006 9:33:21 PM | message detail |
Nice update by Snake there. Unlike last year, we don't start smack in
the middle of the night vote, so there's more room for Snake to
increase his percentage in the night, unlike his match with Bowser last
year. --- Sign the Petition for more stats in the GameFAQs Contests here: http://boards.gamefaqs.com/gfaqs/genmessage.php?board=7&topic=30693799 |

Snake hasn't looked this good since 2002, and it took a shocking effort
from Crono to take him down back then. Barring a complete collapse
against Mega Man, it looks like Crono may be the only character
standing in Snake's way again. That is, assuming Snake is performing normally during a sprite round. He gets 63% on Yoshi 2003, but Y2003 was behind SFF with that Bowser match. Should be a goodie next round. ~*ST*~ --- Winner of the Spring 2004 "Best. Game. Ever." Contest Now Playing: Disgaea 2, KH:COM (Sora), Castlevania: LoI, MMZX |
FastFalcon05 | Posted 11/2/2006 9:35:13 PM | message detail |
Yeah, to deny that Yoshi is going to take nice chunks off of this
percentage is silly. Snake has proven good nights, Yoshi, as a Nintendo
character, and in previous matches, has a good day. Also, I would take Ryu over Yoshi, even though Bowser beat him soundly. Ryu's back in form this year, and I doubt a Ryu/Bowser match goes that way in the future. --- Revenge is a dish best served by Z1mZum in the 2k6 Series Guru Contest. |
The n00b Avenger | Posted 11/2/2006 9:38:31 PM | message detail |
nooo, go back to 63% updates. You must end this match at 60% and make it look like your match against Squall was all you baby! --- ertyu and VeghEsther are truly proof that there is much about this world we still do not understand. |

Holy crap. If Snake can keep this up and not completely fall apart
during the day, I'll be ready to either call his match against Squall
legit, or give him a Nintendo fanbase. Either Snake is now comfortably
above Crono, or he has 2 seperate, and very large fanbases to draw from. God help anybody who's up against snake after MGS4 and Brawl <_< TuRtLe ~~~ 55/62 in the contest. My analysis topic here: http://boards.gamefaqs.com/gfaqs/genmessage.php?board=8&topic=30498383&page=1 |

Karma Hunter | Posted 11/2/2006 9:46:51 PM | message detail |
For those keeping score at home, using a constant Squall and Dante Snake is expected to get 60.09% on Yoshi. And Snake won't be challenging Sephiroth even after MGS4 and Brawl...maybe indirectly, but if the two faced it'd just turn into the next Snake/Squall. --- *kills self* Commit it to memory. |
BlAcK TuRtLe | Posted 11/2/2006 9:47:04 PM | message detail |
That was Liquid though. I daresay FF7 migiht be on the decline by that time, assuming no remakes. So really, all you have to do is adjust Yoshi upwards 2.5 on BL for
this match thanks to Solid ****, and Snake's looking in good shape to
take down Samus this year! --- *kills self* Commit it to memory. |
creativename | Posted 11/2/2006 9:55:55 PM | message detail |
Eh, not after what Sephy did to Liquid. I'm convinced there's a legitimate Playstation SFF factor out there. He would have the Nintendo base by then though. And I do believe in FF7/MGS SFF, but it makes more sense with Liquid - both being light-haired villains, for instance. There just seems to be something about Liquid/Sephiroth that wouldn't be there in Snake/Sephiroth. But Snake/Sephiroth is getting way ahead of ourselves anyway, Snake hasn't even shown to be able to beat Crono yet; it's just that it is a realistically possible thing, and not some loopey idea. It's not really worth spending too much time discussing yet of course...unless we're in the female bracket ;) And Snake won't be challenging Sephiroth even after MGS4 and Brawl...maybe indirectly, but if the two faced it'd just turn into the next Snake/Squall. What next Snake/Squall? The Snake/Squall SFF thing looks to be on very shaky ground again after this. --- www.gamefaqscontests.com www.gamefaqscontests.com/gallery |

Last year, normal Snake would probably only get 56% on Dante, This
year, it looks like Sprite Snake can possibly get 60% on Dante and i
mean it is the freaking Solid Sprite Snake. Yet, people still don't
believe Snake had boosted and they think Megaman would take him easily. --- I am a Singaporean and I hope Snake will beat Megaman. |
creativename | Posted 11/2/2006 9:58:24 PM | message detail |
Intuitively, I wouldn't expect this particular sprite to be hurting
Snake more than 1 or 2 points. He's just so evident in the background.
The sprite doesn't even stand out that much. --- www.gamefaqscontests.com www.gamefaqscontests.com/gallery |
FastFalcon05 | Posted 11/2/2006 9:58:26 PM | message detail |
Yeah, I still do actually. He lost to Mega Man twice comfortably, with
a worse loss the second time around. Mega Man still had a good
performance on Ryu, discounting last year (which is an
admitted...twist, I guess), and Snake's only at 59 here, with the day
vote to look forward to. I still have confidence in Mega Man. --- Revenge is a dish best served by Z1mZum in the 2k6 Series Guru Contest. |
BlAcK TuRtLe | Posted 11/2/2006 9:58:40 PM | message detail |

Snake/Mega Man is very up in the air right now. Still not willing to

No matter who wins that match, it will be a close one. We won't be seeing anything like the previous Mega Man/Snake matches. And it seems as though my random prediction of Snake impressing in all his matches and MM disappointing in all of his is just buildup to a big upset when Mega Man beats Snake might still come true.
