This isn't a very good performance for Peach. She started off at 40%
and then dropped like a rock. But then again its Peach, so... --- Can't think of a good sig. |
Mac Arrowny | Posted 10/31/2006 12:48:36 PM | message detail |
This is actually a great performance from Peach. Tifa likely boosted
from KH2/AC, and even Hayabusa was only expected to get 35.4%. As Peach
continues to gain, she grows ever closer to Hayabusa, which is above
most expectations since last round. --- 99% of people just make up statistics on the spot. If you are part of the 1%, post this in your sig |

It's certainly not a great performance, considering the pic. Take their round 1 pics, and Tifa easily ends above a doubling. --- Take off every sig. |
Mac Arrowny | Posted 10/31/2006 1:17:40 PM | message detail |
No. It does not. Pictures don't matter that much, especially when you're talking about characters from FFVII and Mario. --- 99% of people just make up statistics on the spot. If you are part of the 1%, post this in your sig |

Peach is weird. She had one really good hour in the morning, and
apparently one really good hour after school. Then she just went back
to meh. WTF is up with that. --- ertyu and VeghEsther are truly proof that there is much about this world we still do not understand. |

66-34%, not bad. Tifa feld up better than I thought. She's likely to
keep this over 65% when this is all done (she usually stalls her
opponent towards the end, while Peach's day vote wore off pretty early
against Jill.) Overall, decent performance by Peach. --- Moltar Status: Feeling good and hot-blooded. Tifa vs. Peach - Bracket: Tifa - Vote: Tifa (60/68) |
red sox 777 | Posted 10/31/2006 2:07:06 PM | message detail |
Would it be reasonable to think that the bulk of FFXII's influence, if
any, would occur between a bit after the start of the afterschool vote
(to give them time to play the game before coming to Gamefaqs) and the
end of the poll? I'd imagine that's when most of the votes from people
who are visiting to site to find help for a game come. In that case, if
FFXII were to have any effect on the poll, Tifa and Aeris should do
better during the afterschool vote than they would do otherwise. And... Peach has slowed considerably; Tifa has only lost 0.11% in the past hour. If Tifa can stall Peach around here... or even raise her percentage from here by the end of the match, I'd take that as a sign FFXII did have an effect, and expect Aeris not to roll over and die on the afterschool vote tomorrow. Interestingly, in Mario/Cloud, Cloud began with the lead and lost it as the day went on, which is usual enough for a summer match, except that there was no second night vote, and FFVII usually does much better at the end of a match than at the beginning. --- "........!" ~Magus |
trannyscience | Posted 10/31/2006 2:10:45 PM | message detail |
I would think it'd take a day or so to see any real influence. I dunno
about anyone else, but I tend to play my games before running to look
at a FAQ. though I guess some people can be worried missed items.. --- zizzy ` |
Master Moltar | Posted 10/31/2006 2:12:24 PM | message detail |
It's not like Peach is a day vote beast, she's probably just as bad
with it as Tifa. I mean, didn't Daisy gain in percentage over the day?
Peach won it against Jill because...well, it's RE. --- Moltar Status: Feeling good and hot-blooded. Tifa vs. Peach - Bracket: Tifa - Vote: Tifa (60/68) |
trannyscience | Posted 10/31/2006 2:13:32 PM | message detail |
I wouldn't take a single thing away from Peach/Daisy. but yeah, I could
see Peach having a DK-esque day vote - that would still beat Jill,
though I don't know if DK could come back from 1500 votes. --- zizzy ` |
red sox 777 | Posted 10/31/2006 2:14:12 PM | message detail |
The thing is, Peach did win the morning vote pretty convincingly... and
looked like she was going to do the same at the beginning of the
afterschool vote. But I agree this doesn't prove anything yet... --- "........!" ~Magus |

then, I will consider her a huge disappointment. --- Can't think of a good sig. |

Just got home. Good showing by Tifa! As much as I pulled for Peach in
this contest, I still enjoy seeing Tifa do well against her given that
I actually like her more than Peach! Here's hoping she puts up a good
showing against Samus. It's a shame she's on an island by herself
against Samus while Zelda/Aeris battle and then get a breather against
Yuna/Chun-Li before taking on Miss Aran. --- Currently playing: Grand Theft Auto 3, Devil May Cry, Mega Man ZX |

And why the hell is everyone trying to say Tifa is underperforming and blaming her "sprite"? This is looking to be the
best looking sprite round ever, as far as neither character having a
big disadvantage (i.e. Solid ****). The picture in the background is as
clear as day, and would be an adequate picture without the
sprites in the foreground. Tifa is in her battle stance and doesn't
look bad at all compared to some things we've seen in the past (go look
at Auron/Sephiroth and then come back and try to complain about this
picture). The picture is fine. Take the sprites out of this picture and
you still get the same result. --- Currently playing: Grand Theft Auto 3, Devil May Cry, Mega Man ZX |

beat Snake when Bowser could not. I'm not even going to acknowledge

an interesting match is better than watching your favourite characters
beat the hell out of characters in boring matches. this also makes
