oh man, I argued 60% for Bowser earlier.. but actually seeing it, it
almost feels surreal. I have a ton of thoughts that are conflicting
each other here, so I'm gonna have to take a few minutes and think

Compared to other Nintendo characters, Bowser's day vote isn't that
great. Luigi beat down Kirby with it, while Bowser did pretty much
nothing with it against him. --- As you wish. |

hmm, thoughts: Ganondorf is expected to get 44% on Crono assuming a constant Crono and Sonic. Crono's going to end up about 3% higher than that. Luigi = Bowser = Yoshi? seems possible given this match: Dante (2005c) VS Crono (2005c) Dante has a strength of 32.73. Crono has a strength of 39.87. Crono wins with 58.95% of the vote! A win of 16,009 with 89,394 total votes cast. Yoshi beat Dante so he's expected to do slightly than this, but close enough for me. if this is true, Luigi gets about 43% on Sonic assuming no weird proxies/SFF/whatever. the other possibility is a Crono boost. it helps fix some potential problems (what the hell happened to Ryu?!), but creates others (Luigi at ~35%? Leon being as strong as he looked?) no matter how you look at it, this is very impressive by Crono - maybe the star of the round if you believe Bowser's even close to his 2k5 value. another idea I threw around last year but don't know what to make of is that Crono just performs well against Mario characters for some reason. maybe it's just because he continues to amaze me with his popularity on this site. The ultimate loser is the entrant whose loss started a string of losses all the way up to the final match. You can give him a percent boost to be safe (33.22%), but if Sonic is equal to Crono that actually puts Ganon a smidge ahead before TP. So, again, it's not something we can say for certain yet. Then again I am not sure Ganon would beat Bowser. I'm not sure why Ganon would lose to Bowser. Yeah, I used to be a big supporter of Bowser > Ganondorf, at least
on the basis of SFF, but after this...Crono would have to own Sonic in

That is a big if. It's not really that big, no. I'm not saying that Ganon is ahead of Squall, but just that it is inconclusive right now on who is above who. You cannot use the previous match with Vincent as evidence to suggest that Squall is ahead because Vincent had plenty of reason to gain this year and looks to have done so. Either way, the two should end up very close to each other regardless. It would probably just be best to put Vincent > Ganon = Squall at this point. SFF (rSFF I guess). That and the massive overperformance on Snake. It is still impressive and shows Bowser is capable of strong things. A massive overperformance on Snake doesn't have anything to do with Bowser's strength; it has everything to do with Snake getting his sprite. I used to not believe that Snake's sprite did much, but after seeing him overrate characters for two straight years during that round...it's sort of undeniable. Needless to say, Ganon is projected to beat Bowser right now with 56%+ assuming a constant Sonic. And this is before Twilight Princess, which is just going to widen the gap by even more. Ganon/Bowser was a nice match before this match began, but I doubt you'll find anyone in favor of Bowser at this point, even his strongest supporters.
