*Looks at Poll Updater* YES, freakin' awesome! Ryu climbs to 43% & actually wins a few updates. And it looks like he's trying to resist the morning vote (though it may not kick in for another hour or two?) And scanning the past matches, Mega Man doesn't appear to be all that great with the day vote, so I doubt he'll be pulling a Kratos, so he may actually finish this abpve 40% AWESOME! I am loving this match right now. Seeing
Ryu actually outright win updates against Mega Man was awesome, and
he's actually...not collapsing with the morning vote. Then seeing what
Mega Man did against Axel last round, I feel confident that Ryu can

Oh, and while this match doesn't look good for Bowser, I always
believed that Bowser overperformed on Ryu, but Bowser overperforming on
Bowser cancelled it out. So in my mind it's not as pathetic as it

Even though Ryu is redeeming himself from his 2005 performance, I said
that I wouldn't discount Mega Man if he couldn't outdo Bowser. I felt

...Ryu should be leaking percentage like crazy right now, and he's not.
I'm not sure if I should be impressed that he's holding on or

That would be great for my bracket but I probably won't leapfrog over a
lot of people (Snake is popular with the casuals). The Battle Royale
would probably be a bigger factor since a mistake there guarantees at
least a 16 pt loss. Maybe that will change but Mega's gains are a bit inconsistent. Very rare 60% updates for the blue bomber though so Ryu will probably end this match above 40%. Too bad MM's stuck with Sora before Snake. I hope next year he's against Bowser or Vincent or the Dorf because he might actually lose to one of them. I still can't believe MM's the new Snake. Am I missing something, or are some people overlooking the SFF in this
match. I would imagine that Ryu is stealing votes from MM for this very
reason, making this match a poor comparison of MM's strength. Feel free

Hahaha, Ryu is making Mega Man look like a chump. If he can somehow
make this a 55-44 match, I'll be a happy man. Even better if Sonic

Why? So Snake doesn't get burdened with Solid **** when he's up against Mega Man. He may have lost before, but after the first two rounds, there's no way anyone can think he doesn't have a shot at the match. Right now not only is Mega Man very noticably behind Bowser's
performance on Ryu last year (who Solid beat soon after), but Mega Man
is currently also behind what Solid himself got on Ryu in 2k3 (and
Solid's grown in strength since then). Though Axel is KH, I would still
think 81% on Soma is better than 70% on Axel -- 58% on Squall is also
much better than (probably) 59% on Ryu, to boot. Solid will also look
more like gold when Sora does much better against Mega Man than he did
against Solid last year, over-performance or not (and it'll be
interesting to see how Solid does against Yoshi, too). Solid has major
bracket-support in the male half of the bracket if the pre-contest poll
means anything, more than any other one-seed OR anybody
that's a two-seed or lower (which includes Mega Man). This is also the
first time since 2k3 that Mega Man has been a two-seed, and we'll throw
in that Zero failed both seeding and statistical expections while Roll
bombed (as expected). Even if the Elite Eight is the sprite-round,
despite Mega Man beating Solid Snake twice, I no longer feel good or
safe with Mega Man. Solid's got a very very real chance to pull
the board upset...and if he can do that much, then he's got a good
chance at taking the male half completely. 58% on Squall is also much better than (probably) 59% on Ryu At this point, I'd say that even that is a bit ambitious for the Blue Bomber. The morning vote usually gives us a taste of what the after school vote will bring, and Mega Man only managed to bring Ryu down about a tenth of a percent with it. I'd say 58% is much more likely at this point, and that's only a fraction of a percent better than what Snake did against Squall.
