Dante's morning/day votes might not be as bad as
some of you guys think it is. Vincent, who held off Ganondorf very well
with it, barely increased against Dante with it. Then, of course,
there's the Hayabusa match I mentioned. --- Character Battle V Score - 45/50 points Current Prediction - Yoshi vs. Dante |

Oh...well nevermind on that -- I was thinkin' Yoshi barely allowed a
percent to budge. Vincent's proven to do respectable with it, as has
Hayabusa, not to mention Dante joined the club of killing an FF3/6
character with it...so maybe he deserves the day-vote favorite status? Bah...tough to say, I say! --- http://wemajor12.myrockinprofile.com/ Next celebrity I hope to out-rank: Adam Sandler (#1) |

Jill didn't start cutting into Peach's lead until 2:30, but the stall
that preceded it was at about 380 votes, compared to about 540 for
Yoshi. Dante's got his work cut out for him if he can't start taking
the night away from a Nintendo character - he still has time, but he
better get moving. --- Mustache...and green... http://www.rit.edu/~zmb0386/Top100.pdf |

for Yoshi. Dante's got his work cut out for him if he can't start
taking the night away from a Nintendo character - he still has time,
but he better get moving. I agree. It really isn't likely that Yoshi's going to lose the day vote, and especially, and more importantly, the after school vote. Yoshi's got after school vote written all over him, and he doesn't have a kiddy or casual friendly opponent to take it away from him. --- Revenge is a dish best served by Z1mZum in the 2k6 Series Guru Contest. |
MyWorldIsZelda | Posted 10/22/2006 11:23:48 PM | message detail |
They should have similar voting patterns, I think. Dante does better
during the night and does his worst during the day. Now the reverse for
Yoshi. --- The Master Sword is the most sought-after blade in Hyrule. He who wields it carries with him the hope of the kingdom. |

Xuxon | Posted 10/22/2006 11:25:10 PM | message detail |
Peach's winning the day vote wasn't because she's that good, it's
because Jill sucks with it. Dante isn't that bad, but it's hard to say
how good Yoshi is with it. I think there's a decent chance Dante wins
it, a small chance Yoshi really takes it, but most likely Yoshi takes
it by a small amount or stalls, I think. --- Take off every sig. |
MyWorldIsZelda | Posted 10/22/2006 11:25:56 PM | message detail |
I would really doubt that Dante takes the day vote. The best case scenario for him is to have it go even. --- The Master Sword is the most sought-after blade in Hyrule. He who wields it carries with him the hope of the kingdom. |
Draco1214 | Posted 10/22/2006 11:27:58 PM | message detail |
He's not going to roll over like Jill. Remember that Vincent, who
didn't do much with the day vote against Dante, held off Ganondorf with
it. --- Character Battle V Score - 45/50 points Current Prediction - Yoshi vs. Dante |
FastFalcon05 | Posted 10/22/2006 11:28:14 PM | message detail |
...Dante's not casual-friendly, or did I miss something? I wasn't ever under the impression he was, but I could be missing something, too. Characters like Leon Kennedy, Master Chief, Kratos, Lara Croft, Prince of Persia are characters I'd consider casual. I wasn't aware Dante fell under that setting. Plus, Yoshi is from Nintendo and is in Melee; I can't see the afterschoolers abandoning that. --- Revenge is a dish best served by Z1mZum in the 2k6 Series Guru Contest. |
Zylo the wolf | Posted 10/22/2006 11:29:01 PM | message detail |
Yoshi!! ^_^ I can't believe that this guy always seems to get to round 3 (except in 2003, but he faced Bowser that year >_>) Oh well, this match isn't over, but I hope the mean green koppa eating machine will take it. --- Supporter of Ryu. |
transience | Posted 10/22/2006 11:29:26 PM | message detail |
yeah, I was wondering why characters like Kratos and POP would be
"casual" while Dante wouldn't be. maybe because his games are
difficult? I have no idea, but I don't think Dante is as weak in the
day as you guys think. --- xyzzy |
FastFalcon05 | Posted 10/22/2006 11:29:41 PM | message detail |
He's not going to roll over like Jill. Remember that Vincent, who
didn't do much with the day vote against Dante, held off Ganondorf with
it. Yeah, but Vincent is FFVII, and that really can't be minimized. Also, I recall people saying how Ganon's best time was the morning, where he did gain percentage, and not the day, where he didn't. --- Revenge is a dish best served by Z1mZum in the 2k6 Series Guru Contest. |
MyWorldIsZelda | Posted 10/22/2006 11:31:00 PM | message detail |
He's not going to roll over like Jill. Remember that Vincent, who
didn't do much with the day vote against Dante, held off Ganondorf with
it. No one is saying he's going to just get dominated during the day time, but him winning it is a stretch just looking at previous opponents. And it's a distinct possibility that Vincent had a better day vote thanks to DoC or that we were overrating Ganon's day vote. We all know that the Zelda morning vote loses to basically nothing and that's when Ganon did his best. I sincerely doubt that Dante is going to be favored with the day vote. In all likelihood, this has a definite favoring toward Yoshi, but nothing remotely as bad as Peach. Of course, Yoshi isn't exactly looking like he'll need to make up 1400 votes either. --- The Master Sword is the most sought-after blade in Hyrule. He who wields it carries with him the hope of the kingdom. |

I would still group Dante in that same group of casual-friendly
characters, though maybe on the bottom end of it. Just my perspective

I'd have to agree with harrich. I haven't played any dmc games either,
but dante seems very casual friendly to me. That's probably because I
know a ton of casual gamers that play dmc though, and since anecdotal
evidence is highly useless it might make my opinion on the subject a
bit off. :/ --- When D... I'd be able to finish this sig if Z1mZum didn't own me so hard in the guru contest. Congrats on your victory! |

I've played DMC1 and 3, and I can safely say that Dante's about as casual-friendly as you can get. --- Character Battle V Score - 45/50 points Current Prediction - Yoshi vs. Dante |
MyWorldIsZelda | Posted 10/22/2006 11:36:11 PM | message detail |
I'm assuming you guys missed the "WHY IS DEVIL MAY CRY 3 SO HARD?!" bit
when it first came out? And the subsequent lowering of the difficulty
in DMC3:SE, or a easier starting mode or something. For as "casual friendly" as you guys are thinking, though, he's hardly shown it in his previous day votes. Losing it to Ratchet, Tails, Hayabusa, and Vincent while only increasing against...Terrra isn't exactly convincing. --- The Master Sword is the most sought-after blade in Hyrule. He who wields it carries with him the hope of the kingdom. |
RPGuy96 | Posted 10/22/2006 11:36:20 PM | message detail |
Well, Snake is casual friendly in the same sense as Dante and he sucks
with the day for whatever reason. I think it's hard to differentiate
between, say, Snake, Jill, and CJ on one hand, and Master Chief,
Kratos, and the Prince on the other. --- Mustache...and green... http://www.rit.edu/~zmb0386/Top100.pdf |

I don't think anyone is saying he's gonna RE-style bomb with the day

much of a lead to protect him. --- Should I start running now? |

MyWorldIsZelda | Posted 10/22/2006 11:40:07 PM | message detail |
...I know. Hayabusa has hardly been great with the day vote. No,

you have a good day vote. --- The Master Sword is the most sought-after blade in Hyrule. He who wields it carries with him the hope of the kingdom. |
