So...you just abstain when you're completely apathetic? Because that's generally when I bracket vote.

Sometimes. Other time I'll pic vote, or vote for the first option (since I get an earlier vote that way).

I think I actually "X-Stats Voted" in Crono/Mega Man...mainly because I held dislike/apathy for both of them and didn't want to see Mega Man get potentially overperformed on by Mario and lose a good read on that division's half.

Sure, that would have made Snake #5 in the stats, but it's the principle of the thing!

And now for an update on The Race for Last Place! It's looks like Chun is on pace for about 60% today, so we'll give her that. Then if we assume that Samus = 04 Samus, Yuna = 05 Yuna, Jill = 03 Jill, and Zelda = 05 Zelda, the current values of the girls racing for last is...

Kerrigan - 11.17%
Cortana - 9.12%
Daisy - 8.58%

And your winner,

Jade - 8.26%

Congrats to her!

Oh, and bracket-voting is the lamest thing ever, just so you know. I never consider my bracket when voting, even when I'm completely apathetic to both characters. Always vote for your favorite.

I bracket vote all the time, unless one of the characters is a pile of trash, such as Yuna or Tidus. There are only a few characters I'll vote for in any match. Zero is one. Mega Man is another.

I thought there was something at one point that said X and MM are the same, and if they were both rallied it would just me MM.

At any rate, he counted MMX and MM as seperate series, so X might have a shot.

It would be interesting to see if he syphons away some of MM's normal votes.

after the weird overperformances of Zelda and Yuna and the underwhelming performance by Aeris, it's kinda nice to see a match go as expected here. nothing to say, we wait 22 more hours and get to the good stuff.

really looking forward to those first two matches.

Ya know, I personally would follow the contest even without brackets. I doubt I'm the only one. However, since this is a hypothetical that will never come to be, we can all reast easy on that matter.

Oh, and there's plenty of reason for people to pick a winner other than Yuna. Maybe some of them though Cortana would be a house, just as they always expect MC to be. Others don't follw the contest enough to know how weak Joanna is.

I followed in 2002 without a bracket.. brackets are fun and all, but just watching the contest is fun without one. you can predict the winners without having them written down for you or with prizes on the line.

..am I the only person who doesn't really care about the prizes? I mean, if I win that's great, but I sure don't hang around here for purpose of trying to win money. I just enjoy doing so.

...My favorite contest is still SC2K3, and I had no bracket because I didn't show up until the 2nd match of the contest. Having a shot at prizes means very little to me. When I got 4th in the Anniversary Contest, I was like, "Oh, that's nice. Didn't expect that."

I certainly don't enter these contests hoping to win some cash. It'd be great if I do, but it's definitely not the reason I follow them. I do like creating a bracket and trying to predict these matches to see how well I do -- and that combined with some discussion is probably the best thing about these contests -- but I doubt I would quit following them if we couldn't enter a bracket, not that I ever expect that to happen.

I do wish we could get a bracket with everyone back in it though.

Indeed. After Twilight Princess comes out, you almost have to have another Games Contest. I wouldn't mind a one year break from the Character Battle and the other gimmick contest to have a June-ish 64 entry Games Contest.

I'd really love to see what it could do too. Most of this site should have by the time another contest would roll around and I think the game could be really, really strong.
