I love how people use worthless matches as an opportunity to bash the
stats. It's not like we needed them to know Yuna was going to rip
Joanna a new one. Plus, she's not cult. She's just weak. She won't have
a dedicated fanbase that votes her over everything. She's just from an

Okay, I'm not even reading what I missed since I'm headed right back out the door, but I have to say this. This match should
be proof enough that fodder DOES fluctuate (and even some slightly
stronger characters). Yuna is doing 3% less than freakin' 2k5 MARIO on
Joanna. And there's nothing "fishy" about this. Seeing how Perfect Dark Zero came out AFTER 2k5, there is absolutely no reason why Joanna Dark would drop in popularity. And I definitely would not call for an overperformance on friggin' 2k5 Mario when Mario went on to own the rest of the main bracket. I don't want to hear a thing about N64 "rSFF" or anything. Plus, there is absolutely NO connection between Joanna Dark and Yuna, so there's no reason for Yuna to specifically overperform on Joanna (don't want to hear any of that Tifa/Vyse SFF crap here either!!) Heh, I like Gordon's look. He's all like: "Yeah, I'm in the 2nd round, what now suckas! :P" Ryu/Mega Man not as good as I hoped. I was expecting the pic of Mega pointing his arm cannon at the screen, & the pic of Ryu charging his Hadoken on the Super SF2 title screen. Snake looks excellent, though Squall looks good to. I like Yoshi's pic, and it definitely draws more attention than Dante's. I would consider MGS artwork or Solid **** to be considerably worse. Anyways, Lara > Chun-Li. The Magus/Knuckles of this contest? Match XL: (3) Chun Li vs. (2) Lara Croft Previous Matches Chun Li Defeated Kasumi, 68.74% - 31.26% Lara Croft Defeated Alyx Vance, 77.55% - 22.45% Analysis: Last round Chun Li proved that the 2k2 stats are worthless or really overrated by doubling a character who ranked 25th that year. Lara Croft proved that she doesn’t have as many anti-votes as she used to by easily tripling Alyx in the lowest scoring match of the contest. Sure it was expected that Alyx was one of the weakest character in the bracket, but for Lara, who couldn’t break 70% on an Onion she did really well. Final match of the female half and this one has gotten some talk. Chun Li is still the huge favorite to take the match, but people think that Lara could make this a close match. It is possible for Lara to pull the upset, but it is highly unlikely and she would need about everything going for her. First of all Lara’s 2k4 ranking (her latest and is what most people go by) might be underrated. She took a massive drop from 2k3 to 2k4; sure her movie was released during the weekend before the match against Zelda, but even if you go further back to 2k2 she still takes a nasty drop. Sam Fisher did help prove Lara’s point by taking a huge jump right after he fell in 2k4, but the problem is that Sam was in Master Chief’s four pack in 2k5 and right at the end of the first round he lost to Sub-Zero (because of the new MK game), so unless Sub-Zero is a near elite MC probably overrated DK which made Sam overrated which means him being underrated in 2k4 doesn’t look so good. Something that will help Lara’s strength was Tomb Raider: Legend being released a few months ago. From what I heard TR fans are calling this the RE4 of TR and I can see why, both were “almost dead” series, both games were very well taken by fans and they both introduced new fans to the series. The only difference is RE4 probably helped Leon more than TRL will for Lara, but I do expect Lara to get a healthy boost. Finally Chun Li may be overrated from last year. As we’ve seen during the first round of the male bracket both Ryu and Bowser underperformed against their opponents (so did Kirby, but he was against an unknown). I believe that the Dream Division was overrated because of Snake/Bowser, which trickles down all the way to Chun Li. This makes Kasumi look worse, but I would be surprised if Chun Li is as strong as the x-stats say last year. I think Lara could make this match close, but in the end I don’t think she has the strength to beat Chun Li, especially if her 2k4 numbers were somewhat true (which now look possible). TRL has made her stronger and unless she gets destroyed in this match by Chun Li I wouldn’t mind seeing her in another contest. charmander6000’s Bracket: Chun Li over Lara Croft charmander6000’s Prediction: Chun Li wins, 56.82% - 43.18% --- "I was trying to escape. Using the biggest extreme of overratedness (using Bowser through Leon 2k5), that puts Chun-Li at KOS-MOS 2005's level. Not only could I never see her there, but that value still beats Lara 2k4 with 65%. She barely loses to Lara 2k2 with 49% of the vote and loses a little more to Lara 2k3 (who is likely overrated from the movie coming out the weekend of the match). Basically, Lara has to be nowhere near her 2k4 level and Chun-Li has to be completely and utterly overrated to the extreme, not to mention Leon has to gain nothing from RE4 on the PS2. And this STILL wouldn't compare to Magus/Knuckles. I don't know why people keep throwing that comparison around like it means something. --- *kills self* Commit it to memory. |

Snake/Squall: I'd totally go gay for Squall. Hottest video game
character not named Sheena, Nova, and several assorted other females
ever. That said, I definitely prefer Old Snake to MGA Snake. Let's see
